Just a recent update in terms of UK dates/time-scales - it's taken us one month exactly to go from NOA2 email to letter from UK consulate. This was CSC>NVC>UK>Watford and I got the Embassy letter yesterday.

The alien registration number gets allocated at some point during the period between NOA1 and NOA2. It's not hugely significant - just means the non-USC now has a number they can hang stuff off. When we applied in January the registration number change was very quick - others have had it at different times.

 

I'm not sure it's of any specific importance during the the K1 process (to us). The number we really wait for is the case number which you will get once the NOA2 is issued and your package heads off to the NVC.

 

The important date is the NOA1 and yours would appear to be March 13th . If at any point anyone suggests otherwise you can wave the original NOA1 notice under their nose.

 Is there a list or something to go by to see what is next after the NOA2?  im kind of lost. I dont yet have the NOA2 in hand, but im wondering what the next thing to do is.

So we we got approved 11th July .as I've seen alot of people receive their case number a week after.we left it 8  days and called nvc.they asked for our receipt number and then said they hadn't received our file yet.which is fine it's only been 8 days and I understand uscis don't send them out right away as they wait til they have enough files to send in bulk.

 

We got our letter from the UK Consulate in just under the four week mark after NOA2 so I wouldn't be calling them out for 8 weeks just yet. I don't how much of that was CSC>NVC>London and how much London>Me but at 9 days I'd hang on for a while longer chasing it . I didn't chase NVC as I knew this was a reasonable time-scale and due to me having certain commitments in the UK I wasn't going to try to push but YMMV of course.

I'm going to send in the DS2001 a few days before the medical so they know I'm ready and that the medical results should (hopefully) arrive at about the same time. They've already had the "packet 3" stuff so should have a box file with my name on it already.

 

I'm taking Nich-Nick's advice on sticking within reason to what the US Consulate is expecting and has the procedure in place for but I'm not in a huge rush at the moment. Apart from the small matter of getting my house on the market....

Click every link in the middle section and left and right columns. Read every page.

This is what you are supposed to read about your appointment. It is referred to in the appointment letter but nobody seems to bother finding it and reading. http://photos.state....appt_letter.pdf. It has the exact instructions of how to pay. Follow them and don't try to have a go on your own. Many have a mess because they didn't do it right. Don't do it until you have your appointment letter no matter how many say they did it early. It won't speed up your interview to do it early. Stick with London's order.

Mind you - that page tells readers about the change to DS260 but still lists the old docs and provides no links to the DS260

Well probably my final post for the time being to this thread that I joined ooooohhhh so many months ago. Interview and approval last Tuesday (01/10/13) and advised of courier delivery tomorrow (so 7 days to get visa in hand - London).

Yep. Kinda predictable though. Given the totally dysfunctional way that CSC process petitions I'm not at all surprised that late Jan filers are being processed before us. The scandal is that there are people six months ! before late Jan filers who still haven't got their NOA2s. As such we can't really complain about a gap of a few weeks......

I'm going to carry on reading as this is the best place to get January news. Like others I can't believe that we're all(mostly) four months down the line. I really must finish sorting out the garden as I will soon have a house to sell. It's a UK public holiday this weekend so I can only presume it will rain. Won't be raining in Cali ! Sent of off for my police record too. Booking my vaccs next week. And my local PO has a photo machine that does UK and US size passport photos - result !

Strikes me that the only target at the moment at CSC is bringing their averages back into line. They appear to be doing this in a random way due to their total lack of transparency about how applications are processed. It makes you wonder if someone , somewhere has a mathematical model which is telling them how many and at what date to they need to do to achieve this goal. But that would be ascribing a degree of control and organisation which has not been suggested by their actions thus far.

 

I suspect this stop go approach will continue for a while yet. Hopefully more go than stop.

I just called the customer service number (from the uk). Put in receipt number etc and was told I have to wait 180 days from the transfer date (August 8th) so the 2 months its been sat waiting already counts for nothing!!!! Not a happy bunny today...... ??

HunNee. I called the customer number from the uk (001) 1800 375 5283 went through press 1 for this press 1 for that.... Enter your receipt number...... Then it said " your application for fiance visa was transferred, you are still in the processing stage, please wait till 180 days from your transfer date before calling again" or words to that effect.... ??
Was that an EAC number approved in your group yesterday?

3.1.1)...So how does the whole I-129f petition process work and how does my petition get to the consulate/embassy?
A..I-129f petitions are sent to a USCIS Service Center where, once received and processed, a "receipt" Notice of Action (NOA) Form I-797 (often called NOA1) is created and sent to the original petitioner (US Citizen). This NOA1 is your proof that the Service Center has received your petition. At this point the I-129f resides in the mail/storage facility of the Service Center until it is due to be processed by an adjudicator. The time this takes depends on how many petitions are ahead of you and the rate at which they are processed. Typically entire boxes of I-129f's are moved into the adjudication office and distributed amungst adjudicators as they request more to be completed. Each adjudicator is given a stack to process. As they run out another box is brought in. Since each adjudicator may process at different speeds petitions may be adjudicated (to a degree) out of the order on the original NOA1 (I-797).

Just found this might give a little hope to those who have seen petitions around theirs touched but not their own (like myself).... If petitions around yours are being touched it means that yours shouldn't be far behind..... Keep ya chin up!!!! ??

Aaaawww that's great news that you will soon be re-united.... We have visited each other 6 times in the last 3 years, if I try again I think I will be refused as I am spending more time there than I am here and it gets very expensive... I am keeping my fingers crossed that we don't have to wait too long... I haven't had any RFE's yet so I am hoping that's a good sign....

Great news hopefully for you all too..... I think we were all transferred around the same time.... ( ours August 8th)....
Out petition was approved yesterday (11th) received email at 02.50 this morning...... All but two in my small batch of numbers were also approved... (9 numbers around mine in total)......
Now comes the NVC wait..... But at least the worst part is over.....
I know it's not easy waiting when later filers are being approved and I won't tell you to be patient because I know how difficult I found it ( but hang in there guys)..... I can't be much longer if you were transferred the beginning of August..... I have my fingers crossed for you all ....... Good luck, keep us updated.....

My case was touched today!  Got a notice that said, "On September 12, 2013, your address was changed relating to the I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) that you filed. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case."
 
Neither I nor my fiancé have made an address change, so I'm not sure what it is about.  I checked the two EAC case numbers before and after mine and one of the before and one of the after were actually approved!!!!! (Of the others, one hadn't changed and one was an RFE).
 
So I'm bummed that mine wasn't approved, but maybe heading in the right direction?  Not sure.
 


Your NOA date is a week after ours so I'm thinking you'll hear something within 2 weeks.
