If you've gotten a letter from USCIS in the mail, it should have a box that says "priority date." As far as I know, that's your NOA1 date.

Thanks very much for that info. It really helps and I have updated my timeline accordingly.

I have another question though. For some reason my timeline says I am being processed out of Texas - I don't think that will be the case - I think it will be Vermont but don't know yet. How can I change the Service Centre entry?

For Canadians, it's REQUIRED to do online forms (DS-260, online form of DS-230). You do NOT complete the DS-230.

After (or before) you submit the DS-260 online, you have to send in the IV package (minus the DS-230). If you signed up for electronic processing, you'd email the IV package.

I HIGHLY suggest you read the wiki I wrote (linked in my signature below). It deals with EP and online forms. Please give it a read and if you have questions afterwards, I'd gladly answer you :)

Saylin, I have read it. And read it, and read it. I don't know why I'm getting so stressed and having trouble at this point. Could be just coupled with an extremely stressful job, by the time I get home at night I'm already fried. I'll go back over it AGAIN.

So, I've paid my fees online and follow the link for IV instructions on the receipt page.


Now I'm confused. I have completed the DS-230 including a 4 page addendum containing all my info that will not fit on the form.

But the website SEEMS to be saying I need to submit all my civil documents as well (see list below)

I went to my local Police Department and asked for a Criminal check that was appropriate for immigrating to the U.S. It was easy to obtain and includes RCMP records. LOL, clean as a whistle as I expected :)

I'll check out that link you provided.



Can anyone vouch for one of the sites that advertises on here - CSI Investigations? When I looked at their offerings, they don't offer the finger printed FBI check but can do full criminal checks for two state for me. I don't know if that is what we need. I don't know where to begin getting something so ancient.

1. type of operations and when I'd had them,
2. allergies,
3. medications I was on (none Thank God).
4. ongoing conditions (none Thank God again LOL)

Made it very easy to go through medical and doctor took sheet and was delighted I had done this.

I would call NVC immediately and see if it can be reactivated OR a new one started. Online forms have a very short lifespan. Speak to NVC - I believe that is your only recourse.

You might want to consider a few Affidavits from people who see you two together all the time. But it may not be necessary on a K1.

I would also keep track of dates as best you can. I know they were happy I could provide them all the dates we visited. The Affidavits though are a real serious support to your application.
