K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDublin POE

Hey fellow VJers!
I have been trying to follow up on past posts about Dublin being a POE but all the info I'm finding is dated back at least 2 years. I was just wondering if anybody has used dublin as a POE recently and wondered how it went for them :)
Have a great day everyone
xXx

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPacket 3

hi there,
In 'packet 3' letter there should be a web link to go to, on that page will explain everything you need to do. Yes you will need to fill in the online form and print out copies tosign, also other forms like ds-156, ds-156k, ds-157, ds-230 and ds-2001... I forget which ones you need in duplicate but it should explainall if you follow that link on your letter :) Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhy did you file a K-1 over a CR-1?

We chose the K1 over the CR1 because being apart after marriage seemed so harsh, it's hard enough being away from your loved one as is without having your wedding then being ripped apart :(

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresLetter of Intent Question!!!!

letter of intent only needs to be notarized if your NOA2 is passed the 4 months after priority date, I just had a panic after re reading my 'packet 4' letter also!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMedical during period, is it ok?

whilst i am very pleased at all you not having to go through the invasive 'genital check' it makes me so mad that there seems to be so many different rules, after what i had to go through with my kids at the medical thursday it just doesnt seem fair that others escape it yet i had to force my children to go through it.I am still struggling to come to terms with it all :(

Sorry, way too long to read before work tongue.gif I will agree that there would probably be someone out there that would be offended by the mention of death at a wedding, but then again there could be people offended by eating meat at a wedding, wearing a white dress at a wedding etc. People love to find something to complaint about. If it's meaningful to the couple it should be embraced!

I don't know if polyglots tend to flock together, but since the song is in French, I don't think many people will notice wink.gif

... I'm thinking of the song "Je l'aime a mourir" for our first dance. It's really more about the woman in the relationship, but it means a lot to both Lamine and I. It means "I'll love him/her until I die."

I can speak French as well a little (six years of training but that was 20+ years ago). I know that the French have no problem with death and love but FYI, other cultures will cringe to see the two mentioned together. Maybe something to think about.

Does "till death do us part" ring a bell? wink.gif I don't think it's inappropriate for a wedding!

Omg, how did I know...I called the NVC today and they said we're in "Additional processing" too....AAAAAARRRGH! %^&*^%$!!!
Maybe I shouldn't have called at all....

I feel so sick right now.....just want to cry my face off....MAKES ME SOOOO MAD........i want to but i dont want to tell anyone about this you know, especially Nigel who seems to be also quite frustrated with this stupid process...was getting all exited on the progress and now look at where we are at....seeing some stats...now we're in the same boat is our Ian and Lisa...
I'm absolutely livid.

If it makes you feel any better, literally from the moment NVC told us that they had received our case, they said we were in Additional Processing. The girl said that everyone goes through it, but she didn't really know what that meant. I get the feeling that the term "Additional Processing" is kind of just thrown around a bit. We weren't even there very long! Just over a week. I know it feels really lame to waste time being processed at NVC, but at this point try not to despair over Additional Processing! It may turn out to be no time at all, then you'll be off to London and you're on the last leg!

NVC finally got our file yesterday. They said right off the bat that it was undergoing additional processing, so I guess I'll have to wait and see what that means for our timeline.

A burrito sounds delicious! And attaya_girl, apparently even when you are being "argumentative" you are always extremely nice and tactful!

I'm not too bummed out about his interview being after I go to London, I just thought it would be really special if I could be there for it. Fortunately it shouldn't affect the outcome! We can just cross our fingers that they don't forget about us, stlouis smile.gif at least our noa2s have arrived

As far as flowers go, I once got 3 dozen roses from a guy I played an online game with. Unfortunately, they arrived the day of my sister's wedding and EVERYONE asked who they were from and I had to explain. I think they had the opposite effect the guy hoped they'd have wink.gif On the flip side, when James gave me roses and balloons when he thought he wouldn't be there for Valentines day, I was overjoyed! He walked to the store through the snow while I was at work and had everything waiting for me when I got home, he was so proud! I think I was touched more by the gesture and the thought behind it than I was by the flowers, but they were beautiful nonetheless smile.gif

I'm going nuts right now listening to a lawyer brag about how his "beautiful, blue-eyed, blond haired, tall Canadian girlfriend" is related to a celebrity so they gave her an O-1 visa and they just let her stay in the country. It's kind of discouraging to hear about other people walking through the system based on loose connections!

If everything goes as planned, we're having our reception at my favorite cozy restaurant in the world, The Red Beet , and they will be catering it. I haven't decided on a full menu yet, but I really want to serve coq au vin and have a croquembouche, so I will probably go with a french comfort food menu; seeing as how it's going to be mid winter and snowy up here sad.gif I'm thinking wine and cheese will make an appearance too!

So I've overcome my concerns about not having 3 years of tax returns to submit! I work for a lawyer and I got a really well-written letter from him, but man, is it hard to get a lawyer to put the terms of my employment in writing! I also went to the bank today and the teller is having the main branch write up a letter with the date my account opened, lifetime deposits, account status, current amounts in checking and savings and anything else they thought would be helpful. I got a really helpful teller fortunately. I figure with those two letters and 9 months of paystubs I should be golden!

Are all the other beneficiaries out there as happy as I am that we finally have something we can do to move this along again?

To keep the anxiety/depression away, I've started buying Lamine things to make him feel at home here. Today I bought us new tooth brushes, I bought him a new razor, long underwear for the cold winters tongue.gif, and a warm hat. Having some this stuff around helps me realize that he really will be here soon.

Good idea on the winter wear! My sister's husband is from the Gambia and is the biggest baby during the Winter! He puts 3-4 duraflame logs on the fire, wraps up in a comforter and sits in front of the fire!

Cute!!! Lamine will be the same way. He told my sister the story of the coldest day in anyone's memory in Senegal--it was brutal, as the story goes. No one went outside. People got sick. Sheep were dying. The temperature was...63 degrees tongue.gif When I told him there were snow flurries here in late April, he said, "I really am going to die there." I'm so excited to be there with him when he wakes up to the first morning of snow-covered ground. I'm going to put him in long underwear and underarmour and eighteen other layers, and we're going to build a snow man and make snow angels.

Sounds like the two of you are going to have a wonderful life together smile.gif

We got another touch today, sadly I'm really hoping to get an RFE today, at least then I could be productive and get documents together!

Why would they ask for the past 3 years in tax returns if it didn't matter? I have paystubs saying that I'm making enough, but not a lot other than that. I want to know because I'd rather not send just my information in and have it be denied, but I'd rather not drag my mom or sister into it if I don't need to.

Where did you see something about needing the past 3 years' tax returns? The i-134 says they're only needed if self-employed, or did I totally miss something?

Ha! Well that helps, I actually hadn't read the official USCIS instructions for the I-134, I've just been reading the guides on VJ and other people's posts, everything I've read has said to file the past 3 years' tax returns, but yeah, you're right, the I-134 instructions only ask for last year's tax returns if you're self-employed. I should be fine then smile.gif Thanks for that insight

I'm actually going to be visiting James in September in London, very exciting!

Since we're discussing the next step, I've been collecting my financial information and I have a few questions. I'm still young and my job history hasn't been exactly stable for the past few years. I'm wondering how much impact the wages earned on my tax returns will have on whether I get approved or not. I definitely make enough to be above the line for Alaska, and I have since last September. My employer will surely write me a letter saying as much. So I'm definitely set now, but my tax returns for 2006 & 2007 don't reflect that. Will my lack of stability in the past few years negatively affect my application? Should I have someone file as a co-sponsor just in case?

About 3 weeks ago I had a dream that James & I got a touch on either July 14th or July 16th. Oddly enough, on July 15th I checked our page on the USCIS website and it updated that there was a touch on 6/31/09! Of course, I was elated and relieved to know that our little file was alive and thriving. However, when I logged back in the next day, I couldn't log into my account. I tried all day and finally got on in the evening. By that time, our "last date updated" was 5/05/09 again! I've been untouched! The next day I told my sister I was bummed that USCIS stole my touch when she informed me that such a date does not exist sad.gif

Has anyone else encountered this? I know USCIS did some maintenance on their website around the 15th, perhaps it was just an error?

I'll say it again, just because Nill got a quick response doesn't mean everyone else in the April group will. Expedited cases take priority over every case.
