PhilippinesManila Embassy Interview/Visa Status

Any idea where to check visa appointment? I tried to check the link posted at the US Embassy website (since Friday) , but I always get an error. Is this normal for everyone? I mean, getting an error message.

Island Princess:

Please read #4 of the Manila Embassy K1 Visa Guide and let me know if that resolves the error that you have been receiving. The link is within my signature block below.

Cheers!!!

PhilippinesManila Embassy Interview/Visa Status

Hello Everyone,

What is Packet 3 and 4? Should I fill out anything from these and submit to US Embassy back? I want to do the shortcut (if there is).

Thank you.

Island_Princess

The Manila Embassy only issues Packet 4, which lists of required documents, applications, and guidance required for the visa interview and medical exam. You will also receive a paper copy of the DS-156 Nonimmigrant K1 Visa Application (that must be completed online), DS-156K Nonimmigrant Fiancé(e) Visa Application, DS-157 Supplemental Nonimmigrant Visa Application, I-134 Affidavit of Support, as well as the Appointment Letter that has the Beneficiary's visa interview date and medical exam appointment listed. Please review the Manila Embassy K1 Visa Guide # 2 (the link is within my signature).

Cheers!!!

Sheriff Uling

p.s. - My apologies for the update. I decided to give you a full answer instead of the fluffed response that I initially typed. Everything that I underlined is what the beneficiary will (should) receive. Fortunately it's all available online with the exception of the Appointment Letter. By the by, there are no shortcuts beyond a Military Expedite (ME), which still requires all the forms and the medical exam to be completed before the visa can be issued.

PhilippinesManila Embassy Interview/Visa Status

Hello to everyone! I have been reading this thread for almost 5 months now, infact I was still in the Philippines when I learned about this. I also did K1 visa and is happily married for 2 months now. We're about to do mine and my daughter's adjustment of status but my husband and I don't know how to do it. I told him about this site and the helpful informations I read from it but he just won't buy it saying this is not a legitimate site. I have learned from previous posters that adjustment of status requires a particular form with the vaccination record on it signed by the civil surgeon, but my husband said I don't need that since the government site didn't require anything of such.. I tried explaining to my husband that all here is based on real people doing the AOS but hard-headed as he is (although I adore him being like that), said different forms are needed in different situations.. I don't want to argue with him, but I also want to do the AOS the right way saving my husband all kinds of headaches if ever we miss something important. Pls if it's not too much to ask, can I get some info in what are the requirements for AOS and if you could advise me on how to explain to my husband that sometimes, government site don't always tell all that you need to send to them.. Thank you and pardon me for this long post.. God bless

Please check out my wife's profile at the bottom of my signature block to read up on some information concerning the AOS process.

Cheers and good luck...

Sheriff Uling

p.s. - Sometimes we miss out on some of the best things in life being closed-minded, and believe me this site is a REAL as it gets. Well, they say that a hard head makes for a soft behind, which would explain why you adore him. By the by, what's your husbands solution for learning about the requirements for the AOS process? How did you accomplish the Visa stage of the process... (lawyer, friends, VJ, other research...)?

In closing, I'm glad that at least one of you are a sweet angel... :innocent:

A Japan visa should be applied for if she will be going out of the airport, right? My sister applied for Japan visa when they went there for a tour.

Maybe it's like a USC traveling to the Phil, if you are there for less than 21 days, no visa is required. I have no idea and I am just speculated. They will have to check into that...

Philippinespoe experiences anyone and interviews HELP
Don't worry!

They will not ask you anthing that have not already prepared for throughout the visa stage of the immigration process. They may ask silly questions to ensure you are who you claim to be like your full name, date of birth, and ect. They may ask you why are you coming to America, and in my wife's case they even asked a more ridiculous question like, hey is your pearl necklace real? No worries... You will be fine.

Please also review the link that Shape provided, which is a review of the POE's by other VJ members.

Cheers!!!

Hi Bluemist,

When you pay the visa application fee to BPI bank, the teller will give you validated DS 157 form as proof of your payment stapled also in that validated DS 157 the payment receipt you have paid.

Hello Guys,

I just want to ask what is this about:

"Applicants must ensure that the back of the DS-157 Form is machine-validated with check-rite,The U.S. Embassy does not validate DS-157 forms.Applicants whose DS-157 form is not machine validated with check-rite will NOT be allowed to enter the embassy premises. The applicant will then have to book another interview appoinment."

I already filled up my DS-156,DS-157 and DS-156K but i saw someone here on VJ post about this machine validate thing about DS-157 and i dont understand about it.How can i make it validate with machine when i filled it up online???

Does anyone here know about this and make it clear to me???

Thanks.

The visa application fee applies to all visa applicants. So explicitly, yes. You will be applying for a K1 for yourself, which requires and application fee, and a K2, which also requires an application fee. Thanks for the question. I will add an explicate statement so that it is clearly indicate within Section 2.2 of the Manila Embassy K1 Visa Guide during my next update soon.
