For the NOA1, should I focus on the receipt date or the notice date? Please tell me receipt date cuz my petition is at the infamous CSC, and I need all the HELP that I can get. To date, no approvals in July so far for CSC. Goodness gracious somebody help us all!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNew Processing Times Dated July 19
For those of us who are awaiting approvals post-IMBRA from CSC, KEEP WAITING. Our petitions are stacking up like firewood. It appears our worst fears have been answered. Please observe the 06 Mar 2006 processing date for CSC. Call me crazy but I think that is significant because 05 Mar 2006 is the last date not affected by IMBRA compliance. From what I have been reading from many of the members here, it appears that we'll be waiting a while for CSC to catch up on petitions pre-IMBRA. Not unless a miracle just falls from the heavens above, this might take a wee bit longer than any of us anticipated. What I have written is totally speculation. However, to date, CSC has not approved any visas in July from any of the folks here on VJ (that I have noticed). One VJ member wrote, something to the effect, that he will begin planning his wedding and retirement at the same time. Are there any optimists out there to give us hope?

I think you will find that the vast majority of pre IMBRA have already been approved, had interviews, waiting for interviews ...or if not approved yet, are most likely held up with security checks. Im curious where you get the idea that there will be a long wait due to them having to catch up on petitions pre-IMBRA.

Just speculation based upon some of the comments made by other members, which leads me to believe that we may be in for additional delays. Not to mention, the fact still remains that CSC has not issued any approvals in July. Not unless CSC is going to simply "rubber stamp" approved on all of our petitions, there could possibly be delays in petition approvals (unless what I read is true that the quotas for other visa types are almost met freeing up time for CSC to focus on K1 petitions). What have you heard or read that leads you to believe otherwise?

How I long for the days PRE - 911, when K1 Visas process in 90 - 150 days. I mean your fiance(e) would be in your arms in 90 - 150 days tops. Now that's the length of time it takes for a silly NOA1.

According to the brainiacs who answer the phone at CSC, they will take 30 days to process returned RFEs. Really, I don't think anyone has a clue what they are doing there. At this point, I don't expect to see an approval for my March 23 petition until September. . . .

I'm planning on having a combined wedding and retirement party. That should give them enough time.... 27 years.

bout the only thing your congressman will get is that you are still within the 90 to 180 processing time and everything is normal. and to call back in 30 days. You only have been on the waiting list for 2 months. The way to really get things moving it send letters to the case workers for immigration and have them open formal case.

Have any suggestions/recommendation on how to get that done? Many thanks!

AJ - I agree - you may want to wait a bit longer until you really need them. There are just too many people ahead of you waiting for the senator's office to be able to get you any concrete information. But when you need them, here's how to do it: http://www.visajourn...mp;#entry317606

Thanks! I should at least let them know the plight of our situations and not my particular case cuz the faster CSC approves everyone else... the faster they will get to my case. That works out for everyone and you know that strength comes in volume. The larger the voice... the more likely we are to be heard.

I sent a letter to Dianne Feinstein about June 28th and have not gotten a response. I am sure that they have tons of letters so I am not that surprised. However, I think it would be best if you contacted your congressman as they have fewer constituents to worry about. Hmmm, maybe I should get on that now, although I think they should be reviewing my application pretty soon. My NOA1 is March 7 and the processing dates say March 3. Doesn't hurt to be proactive though right?

MY NOA1 is 15 Mar. My letter went to both boxer and feinstein the week of the 3 July. Both offices have told me they will have case number for me this week and also are looking into why CSC is so far behind. Give them a call at their phone number for case workers which you can find at their site. They should be able to give you case number they have assigned and you can find out your status there. They told me that they would respond to me by snail mail when they got answer unless I kept calling.

Alot of us have already done that. The senators from Ca are Boxer and Feinstein. You can get their contact details by searching on their name.

Here is the link to find your congressman
Congressman

You will have to fill out some forms and then be assigned a case number unless you can prove you are an emergency case (trust me you arent). I strongly recommend you contact all three of them. Get you case on their desk. Tell them about your circumstances and the problems with CSC in general.

Both Boxer and Feinstein are getting alot of letters about the situation. Add yours to the growing pile!!! The more letters they get the more interest they take.

Thanks for the site! I just called my representatives office and they are checking on it. It will either help, hurt or have absolutely no effect. We'll see!

I am so thankful that there is no requirement stipulating how long a couple must know each other before entering this process because my fiancee and I would would be in that boat. The good thing is, by the time of the interview, we would have known each other at least 8 - 10 months. Not to mention, we already have tons of info to prove our on-going relationship. Out of 54 pollers

Week of July 23rd (This week)...........[ 17 ]...[31.48%]
Week of July 30th.............................[ 11 ]...[20.37%]
Week of Aug 6th...............................[ 9 ].....[16.67%]
Week of Aug 13th............................ [ 1 ].....[1.85%]
At a later date than mentioned above.[ 9 ].....[16.67%]
Let's wait and see............................ [ 7 ].....[12.96%]

Predicting when CSC will get the ball rolling is like playing the lottery and the grand prize is our loved ones.
