K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRed flags or things that might throw a wrench
aselano - Besides, they can't complain of long gaps when they are taking so dahamn long in the initial stages of the process. Look at how many poor souls are in limbo awaiting approvals. Goodness. Cheers!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresThe new over 100 topic.
To all overdue petitoners - If USCIS was proactive and effectively communicating about the status of your case even though it has taken this long, would that have helped ease your frustration. I put USCIS because as you may have read there are tons of poor souls that are overdue approvals (or at least a dahamn decision) at CSC, but there are some poor souls in the same situation at VSC. This is not to draw up any trouble. I had read that this was one of the irrations of those pending an approval. Therefore, I wanted to explore that thought of how much of a difference would it have made if USCIS was effectively communicating the status of your case, given the same situation.

May you all find peace and resolution to this injustice.

Cheers!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureswhere is the noa2 that makes lots of people get worry?
Now that CSC is presumably processing by the NOA1 date... Where does that leave those stranded souls in the IMBRA RFE process? Will they be pushed further to the right? Does anyone have any thoughts about that?

Cheers!!!

sarah and hicham - There was a troll that made a sensational and absurd claim of having been approved fairly quickly by VSC. The post was so over the top that many good folk were offended because it was insensitive. Unfortunately, it created tension and heated debates. Capt Ewok deleted the tread (if I'm not mistaken). Folks are on edge, but I can't blame them. Cheers!!!

Keith & Xiang - Thank you! I choose to translate my though in a specific vernacular to avoid the unnecessary dialog in which I presumed was eminently ensuing. That person’s particular statement was the equivalent of me stepping in dog poop and then he scientifically describing the smell. How does that uplift the person or bridges the gap between what is written and the persons traumatic situation. TMO! Cheers!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHELP, URGENT !!

Why is it that there is no mention of this in any of the Houston news services? I would think it would be a major story, especially since there have been a series of carjackings lately and they are making the news.

john_and_marlene - You are off the chain...

Anyway…

Alexander De Ridder – My prayers are with you and yes, you should be granted an early appointment. With the Manila Embassy, if there is a medical emergency with the petitioner, an early appointment will be granted. Contact your consulate... However, they may require you to submit proof.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat's a touch?

Hi and welcome to VJ.

A 'touch' shows up as the Last Updated date on the USCIS website. You can access the website and check the status of your case by going here:
https://egov.immigra.../jsps/index.jsp

and using the NOA1 receipt number, creating yourself an account. A touch simply means the last time anyone had human contact with your file. This could mean anything from spilling coffee on it, to passing it along for final approval. Some people never get touched and then get surprised with an approval.

Regardless, buyer beware. Checking for touches is HIGHLY ADDICTIVE!!!

Mo

I second that! Checking for touching is not only addictive... it can drive you insane. LOL!! Welcome to VJ! Cheers!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIf K-1 got denyed.......

Judging by your timeline you got only RFE, what caused you think its denied?

ieva & carl - I believe it's just nervous energy and time weighing on Carollin's psyche. When I first began the process, I thought the same way because I wanted to cover all the bases, just in case. After I became a little more knowledgeable and comfortable with the process, my fears subsided and are practically non-existent.

Carollin - K1's are just a tad faster than K3's. Since you have begun your journey with the K1 process, hang in there and ride it out. It won't be long. If you don't have any landmines or complications that would cause your visa to be denied, then don't worry. By the by, you probably already know this, but don’t get married while you are waiting for the K1 or it will be invalid because you changed status. Cheers!!!

BlueSurf - I will update it today. For some reason, I had a good feeling that we would have some more approvals trickling in and I planned on updating them all at once this weekend. I will also bounce this list off the one Gary produced to make sure that I have captured all of the approvals. By the by, I'm on everyday. Fortunately and unfortunately, I am VJoholic like the most of us. Approval or not, I'm in this for the long haul.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHow to witdraw I-130 petition.

Paul,

Since the approved I-130 petition is at the consulate, the petitioner should write to the consulate to tell them that she wishes to withdraw the petition.

How did the approved petition get to the consulate without your sister submitting an I-864 and the associated fee to the NVC?

Yodrak

Paul

I concur with Yodrak's recomendation. Per the rules, please have your sister withdraw the petition "in writing" to the consulate ASAP. I also recommend that she follows-up with the consulate to unsure the withdrawl is initiated.
