LOL! YYB has better details because somehow they let here through customs with her whips and chains for her "Boytoy!" LOL! :D

That's funny. BTW, Jenalyn recognized your fiancee at the CFO seminar thing, but whe she asked her if she was "Uling's" fiancee, she didn't say anything. I guess my gal comes on a little strong and scares people!

LOL! Sometimes my Baby is a little bingi (deaf... LOL!!!) or Jhen was focused on something else!!! Darn... I'm going to ask her because it would have been cool if they would have connected.

Phil-Am Families...

You all are in my prayers! May God continue to bless and keep us in his good grace.

Just wanted you to know that all is well and very good here. Jhen made it home safe and sound. Of course, Philippine Airlines was an hour late leaving Manila, but that's to be expected (Filipino time... remember... :D ). I'm still amazed that she is here. The best part is that Jhen was able to have Thanksgiving with all of our immediate family. It wlll take me a few more days to shake the shock that I'm in... Anyway, I don't want to bore you all, plus you have more pressing things to worry about. Thank you all so very very much!!!

With all my heart...

My Baby is flying home as I type. Philippine Airlines is always on Filipino time... What do I mean...? They departed late... AS USUAL! Just an hour late this time... Jhen and I are very excited. After today, I will be out of pocket for a while, but I'm sure that Jhen will be online.

I hope that YYB and her "Boytoy" have a nice trip as well as titakey and her "Big Daddy" who are all flying home today as well.

Cheers!!!

Tentative approval!

She completed the interview but was too shy to ask if she was approved. She was sent to the window to pay for the visa delivery, which I understand is not a guarantee of approval.

Any recommendations of how the status can be confirmed?

thank you,

Paul

First off... CONGRATS!!! I'm sure that you are approved. Call the USE tomorrow morning to confirm... Cheers!!!

Uling, any reservations by your so or you about her flying into LAX POE? Are you nervous at all about her doing the POE interview by herself? I have talked with my wife about meeting her at LAX and having her take a direct MNL/LAX flight but she is nervous about going through immigration and customs.

No! She's overjoyed and everything is a formality to her (just another loop to jump through). As for me, I know that at any point in this process, lingering in the darkness, is the potential of a snag that can send things to a screetching halt. That's why we all have busted our buns to be as prepared as much as possible. All will go well. Your focus determines your reality. Therefore, we shall be victorious. I'm claiming it, I believe it, and it shall be done. God did not bring us this far to fail and I believe that for all of us. Cheers!!!

Recent Visa Interview Date Recipients – Congrats! It’s another huge relief to finally get your date set in stone… Now you can focus on the interview itself… YEAH!

MLT6977 – That is extraordinary and I’m very happy for you. Wow… 17 years…

Lovebug – Yes, your Baby may purchase your ticket in the US. There will not be any problems. However you can ONLY pay the Philippine Travel Tax (approximately 1620PHP) and Airport Fee (Approximately 600PHP) in the Philippines. You may pay the Philippine Travel Tax at the Ticketing Office or at MNL. The Airport Fee is paid before you pass through the customs checkpoint at MNL. By the by, your Baby will have a roundtrip ticket, but you only really need a one way.

I notice some timelines showing the date the Manila Embassy received the petition. How do you get that date, since they don't send out a notice?

Eventually your fiance will receive a letter from the embassy stating that the petition has been received from NVC, on it I believe is the date.

If the beneficiary does not receive a letter from the USE, please call the USE n order to inquire when your physical files were received by them.

BJZags - Was your fiancee able to complete the medical exam an vaccination the same day?

That would be a big negative sheriff Uling. Originally she thought she wasn't going to need any vaccinations which is why she thought maybe she'd be done in one day. Turns out the second-day for the vaccinations was even longer then her initial medical on the first day. And I'm not sure, but due to the "pain" she expressed, it seems like they adminster the vaccinations with cattle prods or something.

LOL! Many of the fiancees that were there with mine all had bruises on their arms for the needles. I mean huge bruises. The kind that take about a week or so to go away... I'm going to be laughing about the cattle prods thing most of the day...

You can just show up any time without rescheduling? Do they ask for the interview appointment letter?

I think you need to be able to supply them the appointment letter, I know that's what Jenalyn showed the guard. I believe I have read where even the original NOA2 letter got them in the door. But I'm not sure I would want the medical done before receipt of the appointment letter. There really is no "scheduling" involved, it seems to be done on a first-come, first-served basis, with there being a cap of 100 or so people each day.

You can bring the NOA2 letter only if you don't have the appointment letter. Remember some folks don't receive their Packet 4 information from the USE and pick it up at SLEC. So whether you bring one or both.. either way... there will not be a problem. Best of luck!

First, I want to extend my deepest prayers to those still awaiting the joy for which they rightfully deserve...

I can't win for losing.

So let me clear this up now. I'm presuming the statement above my have been misinterpreted by at least one of our fellow members. IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FASHION WAS I ATTEMPTING TO RUB MY APPROVAL IN ANYONE'S FACE. Goodness! I am actually writing that for Windchaser and PW who have been kicked down by the process and really deserve and need our prayers (not to mention grace). But I tried to make the comment general not to alienate anyone that may be going through a similar struggle(s). My statement was not intended for those who are awaiting their interview dates/appointments. Why can't you just ask me what I mean instead of attacking me in PMs. I have given my heart to this particular thread because I feel a deep and genuine bond because we all share in this experience together. I'm really angry... hurt.. and disappointed. And you my friend are mistaken.

Thanks a bunch...

p.s. The thanks a bunch is sarcasm… so if you want to attack me… attack me for that!!!

Must have been a slow day at St. Lukes. Jen was in and done with all her exams by 11:00 AM. She said she may even be able to complete her vaccinations today and NOT have to return for them tomorrow. Somehow I thought this was supposed to be a day-long ordeal of waiting around watching the paint dry excercise in patience. Hopefully her ease in the medical is a positive sign of things to come.

That would be a good deal... Sometimes beneficiaries finish early but to get it all done in one day... Hey that's a sign for good things to come in my book... Cheers!!!

There is no "the correct answer". The anecdotal evidence is that it doesn't make any difference how this question is answered, although I wouldn't recommend something like 'Hell no, she's on her own'. I personally checked 'Yes' since in my case I did intend to provide support...

Question for PW, Uling or any other kind members. On the afidavit of support question#11, I answered" N/A (K1 visa for permanent residence" I did not check any of the boxes as per the sample form. Is that the correct answer? Thanks for your help.

I really don't know the technical answer. I checked intend and I wrote verbiage equivalent to YuandDan's recommendation of putting N/A ( K1 visa process for permanent residence ). I believe that question is actually intended for the other non-immigrant categories, but it causes confusion for family based visas. Please help us Phil-Am family...

Phil-Am K1 Information…

(K1 Introduction) - If you are just starting your K1 visa journey, please check out this information provided by the Department of State (DOS) on the K1 visa experience (CLICK HERE). I found this information very insightful when I first started. Please note that the “How to Apply for a Social Security Number Card” section is incorrect because K1 visa beneficiaries can only apply for a SSN card upon arriving into the United States.

(Case Status) - Once you have filed your case and recieved your case number, please register on the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) website using the Case Status Online Tool to receive emailed updates concerning your case (CLICK HERE)

(1). The National Visa Center (NVC) number is within my signature. NVC assigns your case number once your case is approved (NOA2). They also may perform a preliminary background check from what I’ve read then forwards your package/case to the Manila Embassy. This process usually takes anywhere from 14 – 30 days.

(2). The Manila Embassy (USE) Packet 4, the phone number, a visa interview testimony, along with a sample Appoitment Letter are is within my signature block. NOTE: Packet 4 is acquired from the Manila Embassy website which gives directions on what documents are required by the beneficiary for the visa interview. If you call the Manila Embassy and dial 0 for the operator, ask for the Immigrant Visa Unit. The average interview appointment is assigned approximately 100 – 150 days from the receipt of your package from the NVC. Beneficiaries are now sent an letter of receipt from the USE once their physical files are received. However, this is NOT Packet 3 because the Manila Embassy ONLY issues Packet 4, and the letter of receipt is not always sent to the beneficiaries. Please also check out this instructional visa interview information (CLICK HERE) (Thx Sillygirl)

(3).The Department of State (DOS) number is within my signature. After your case is approved (NOA2) and reaches the Manila Embassy, you may call DOS instead on the Manila Embassy to obtain status of your case and make inquiries concerning your interview date. NOTE: DOS has no direct participation in the K1 process.

(4). The Visa Interview Appointments website is within my signature. This is where you can check to see if a visa interview has been scheduled for your case. It is presumed that the website is now the substitution for the visa appointment worksheet/list the Manila Embassy used in the past.

(5). St. Luke’s Extension Clinic (SLEC) information is within my signature. SLEC is where the beneficiary goes to take the medical exam and vaccination. The process takes two days. Day 1 is the medical exam and Day 2 is the vaccination.

(6). The DELBROS website is within my signature. DELBROS is the company responsible for delivering the beneficiary’s Visa and POE information. The DELBROS delivery fee is paid subsequent to the beneficiary’s visa interview at the Manila Embassy. Per the Manila Embassy website, the current delivery fee/time is as follows:

* Metro Manila Areas, 135 Philippine Pesos, Delivered one (1) to three (3) business days after release of visaed passport to the courier
* Provincial Key Cities (ex. Cebu City, Davao City, etc.) 165 Philippine Pesos; Delivered three (3) to five (5) business days after release of visaed passport to the courier
* Outside Provincial Key Cities, (ex. Capiz, Leyte, Bukidnon, etc.), Cost depends on area/location, Delivered five (5) to seven (7) business days after release of visaed passport to the courier

NOTE: Per the DELBROS staff, the Manila Embassy can take as much as three (3) business days to release the visa and POE package, which is NOT included in the deliver times above.

(7). CFO Guidance and Counseling Seminars are held in Manila and Cebu, with the corresponding links within my signature. The beneficiary may attend whichever location is more convenient. "Per Republic Act 8239 and Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Order 28-94, Filipinos proceeding abroad as fiancé(e)s and spouses of foreign nationals are required to attend the CFO's guidance and counseling programs... " For more info (CLICK HERE). NOTE: As far as I know, this requirement is not stated within the K1 packet. However, the beneficiary can NOT travel without receiving the Guidance and Counseling Certificate and subsequent CFO stamp on the visa. Please check out this instructional information on the CFO experience (CLICK HERE) (Thx Sillygirl)

(8). The I-94 Arrival / Departure Form is within my signature. Foreigners (beneficiaries) complete the I-94 and the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer stamps the applicant’s arrival and departure portions at the Port of Entry (POE) when entering the States. You will need this for the Adjustment of Status process. NOTE: Even though it’s simple, I have supplied this so you will know what it looks like and what is required to be filled out.

Cheers!!!

NOTE: The red text indicates the recent updates/chages. Please let me know if there are any suggestions. I have also correlated the numbers above to my signature below.

It must be an example for the VJ ID member ILIKEALLCAPS... LOL!!! You may type in any case. However the majority of the fields from the online DS-156 are in CAPS. Cheers!!!

Cheers!!!
