PhilippinesNBI CLEARANCE - manila
We made copies of everything for the USE and when my wife attempted to give her a copy of her NBI Clearance and BC, the pre-interviewer fired back at my wife saying, "Do you want your visa to be a photo copy!". She is an #######! So, I would say, NO, the USE does not accept copies those key documents, but they will for everything else. At least, that was our experience...

PhilippinesCENOMAR
I guess the only explanation for the small piece of paper within Packet 4 stating that all applicants that are not married should have a CENOMAR is because someone inadvertently removed the line stating that the CENOMAR is a requirement in the latest update of the Packet 4. Other than that, it does not make any sense to me either. Even though the USE does not always ask for the CENOMAR, obtain a copy anyway just to be prepared for the worse.

Cheers!!!

PhilippinesCENOMAR
The CENOMAR was listed as a requirement on the previous version of the Packet 4. However, on the current version of Packet 4, the CENOMAR has been removed as a requirement for the visa interview.

PhilippinesMy Fiancee Returned Home
I'm bald, but if I were you, I'd be pulling my hair so far out of my head that the DNA would be removed. OUCH! I feel for you brother and so I'm going to send you some (((good vibrations)) in hopes that both your spirits are lifted to fight the good fight for the second round. Please, please, please, research and ask questions somewhere (ANYWHERE) before making any decisions involving your fiancée because there are restrictions on her activities here in the states for certain things.

How is your fiancée taking this ordeal?

Take care...

PhilippinesRequest for Visa Pick-Up
Congrats! You were indeed fortunate because it truly depends on the CO whether the beneficiary will be permitted to pick up the visa. In our case, the answer was not, but the CO was new and I wasn't in attendance.

PhilippinesAbortion: Can this be a reason for not getting a visa?
QUOTE (BJZags @ Sep 20 2007, 06:47 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Where the abortion thing gets a bit "sticky" is that this is an illegal act in the RP. Not sure that admission of a crime is a wise course of action.

I feel the exact same way. If an illegal act has been executed by the beneficiary in the past (according to the RP laws), I would not recommend disclosing past discretions. It could get you banned from being eligible for a visa entirely or for a time period, depending on the past discretion. However, this is simple my opinion and I am in no way advising you to do anything that you feel is immoral for you. On the flip side, if you were my fiancee, I would tell you not to disclose an abortion because there is no way they can ever prove that it occurred.

Cheers...

PhilippinesPacking Things to US
When I arrived in the Philippines, the boxes were removed from the planes before the luggage. So this Aussie guy and myself were laughing about that in the terminal during my visit. We waited about 20 minutes and nothing but boxes were removed from the plane first. It was funny and frustrating. I know that you are coming to the US but it seems that packing huge boxes to take on the plane to and from the Phil is normal. Hmmm!!!

PhilippinesVisa question
QUOTE (jerzboi @ Sep 19 2007, 09:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Ok I have a few more questions before I book Eve’s flight to the US. Eve’s interview is on November 5th and I am being optimistic that everything will go well so I am looking at booking the flight for November 21st so…….

1. For those that live in Cebu how long after the interview did it take to receive your visa?
2. If you do the CFO Guidance and Counseling Seminar before you go to the interview once you receive your
visa can you just go back to CFO to get the stamp at anytime?
3. Lastly is anyone else leaving from Cebu headed for the US by way of Cathay Pacific on November 21st?

As always thank you for your help!

Jerzboi:

1. Please review Section 5.1 of the Manila Embassy K1 Visa Guide.
2. Please review Section 6.2 of the Manila Embassy K1 Visa Guide.
3. N/A

Cheers!!!

PhilippinesNew Passport Procedures
Pilipinas Teleserv Inc. Gives Passport Applicants Much Sought After Convenience

Last September 17, 2007, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) had started issuing machine-readable passports to all passport applicants. Under the new system, applicants have to personally appear at the DFA, sign and affix their thumbprints on their application form before a consular officer.

Due to the shift to the new system and the expected surge in the number of passport applicants, people are advised to apply or renew their passports way ahead of their expected travel time. However, with that expectation, the DFA in coordination with Pilipinas Teleserv Inc., the foremost Citizen Services provider in the country, initiated the 24-hour Passport Assistance Hotline 737-1000.

With the 24-hour Passport Assistance hotline, renewal applicants can now call and have their passports picked-up and pre-processed for them. After pre-processing, the applicant will be scheduled to appear before the DFA consular officer where they will affix their thumbmarks and signature. Teleserv's personnel will be ready to escort and assist the client the moment they arrive at the DFA. With this faster passport processing procedure dubbed “Green Lane passport Assistance, on the average, the process will only take about 10 minutes of the applicant's time, doing away with long and tedious steps encountered by ordinary passport applicants. The service also comes with a door-to-door delivery that covers the whole country from Batanes to Jolo.

Unlike the old passport version, where the name and other personal information is written down, the new passport is similar to foreign visas, where a sticker containing all these data is stuck on the first page. Under ultraviolet light, the information page reveals the security features that include the seal of the Republic of the Philippines. The picture itself contains the name of the holder and a ghost-picture. On the inner pages, images like the sampaguita flower, Rizal monument, Mayon volcano and others can also be seen under UV light.

Please check the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) website for more details at www.passport.com.ph. Applicants may call (632) 737-1000 or email inquiries, comments, suggestions and site problems directly at info@passport.com.ph

As always, cheers...

As Karin und Otto stated, "Your K1 Visa is valid for 6 months (6 months to enter the US). Once entering the US, the beneficiary has 90 days to marry the USC."

Philippinessecond k1 process....
Rose77:

Does he need to visit me here in the philippines even if we already spent 1 month in the US together?

Per the guidelines, your have satisfied that criteria, but you must provide proof. Below is an excerpt from Packet 4 concerning your question:

h. EVIDENCE OF A MEETING PRIOR TO THE PETITION. You and your petitioner must have physically been together at some point within two years before the petition was filed. Proof of this meeting should be submitted unless the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) waives this requirement. A few photographs of the applicant and petitioner together during the specified time may serve as evidence of this requirement. fiance must visit you in the Philippines.

Please refer to the Packet 4 instructions for more details.

Do i need to ask some clearance from my former fiance?

No! When your relationship ended. That was your clearance. (((smile)))

OTHER: I would be mentally prepared for the logical questions of when, how, and why you met and developed your new relationship by the CO during your next visa interview considering the point in time that you met your current fiance. Just a thought...

Cheers!!!
