BTW, when we gonna see little Ahmari or Little Jhen?

We get asked that question a lot. I mean like a few times a week since Jhen arrived in the States. Really! Well, as of right now, we're just going to enjoy each other, but we're negotiating the decision in another two - three years. It's going to take me that long to get mentally prepared for the next level of our marriage. Plus, I want to practice a lot more on the art of creating a child before we create a child... Get it... blush.gif

just go walk in, they wont send u home. as they said just avoid mondays.

It also depends on who you talk to on the phone. Not everyone understands the process. Therefore, you are more likely to get varied answers within every phase of the visa stage of the immigration process. It can be confusing and frustrating, but you will not have a problem being a walk-in as long as you have the fee, appointment letter, and IDs. As previously stated by a few of our members... AVOID MONDAY WALK-INS!

Ok, I have a task for you. Simply call the USE and ask them for yourself. At least, that is what I have done in the past. Don't worry! Your point is well noted and completely understandable. It is absolutely your utmost responsibility to verify every piece of information that you receive from an unofficial visa immigration website.

Thanks. You are correct. Im not sure ####### Johns issue is. I guess he has one big chip on his shoulder. I feel sorry for his bride. Im sure he will have some smart azz comment yet again.

John really wants to help as many folks as possible. He is a bit sarcastic, but who isn't. I can be, at times, depending on how I interpret what is written and my mood at that time. You may be reading a tad more into what he wrote than what really exists my friend. I do NOT believe his intent was to disrespect or anger you. However, that's just my interpretation.

I have an epiphany for you... Read Section 4.3 of the Manila Embassy K1 Visa Guide. Hehehehe!!!

Just out of curiosity. Why would a person disregard the "official" form from the united states and randomly read some web site for such important information like this?

Because some of the people here have done this before and know how it works (and the people who publish the forms apparently have not, and don't). laughing.gif

E...

It all comes together to form one sweet word.... epiphany... hehehehe... devil.gif

The USE version is from the point of view of a true nonimmigrant visa which uses the I-156 (Nonimmigrant Visa Application) as the validation form upon payment of the visa fee. This error is a technical oversight on behalf of our dearly beloved USE concerning the K1 Fiance(e) Visa. The DS-157 (Supplemental Nonimmigrant Application) is the form validated by the bank upon payment of the visa application fee for ALL K1 visas. However, that information is explicitly written within Section 4.3 of the Manila Embassy K1 Visa Guide, which is why we have a modified version of Packet 4. I have written the USE in hopes they would correct this technical oversight, but no action has happened to date.

Hope this helps and please read the guide thoroughly...

Sheriff Uling

p.s. - Not to seem rude, but most of us have been through the Visa Stage of the process. Unless something has drastically change, we are writting from experience. However, we learn more from the new members of VJ as the process evolves. So keep the questions coming and hopefully we can all work together to find a resolution.

PhilippinesFee Increase for Visa?
QUOTE (edp333 @ Dec 29 2007, 01:15 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Actually, the price increase takes effect for interviews completed after January 31 and visa fees paid after December 31, 2007. Since your interview is Jan. 7 and as long as the fee was paid before December 31 you are exempt.

http://manila.usemba...v/wwwh3023.html

“K” and “V” non-immigrant visa applicants who paid US$100 before January 1, 2008 will not be charged additional payment if they are scheduled and appear for their visa interview before January 31, 2008. Applicants who paid US$100 before January 1, 2008 but who are scheduled and appear for their visa interview after January 31, 2008 must pay the US$31 difference.

As I stated before, I anticipated a ripple effect from the fee increases to effect all aspects of the immigration process. ranting33va.gif Besides electronics, healthcare, and gas prices, I can't recall anything else having such a sharp jump in cost over the past few years. It's still a tad bit frustrating, but I'll get over it. mad.gif

PhilippinesCFO Manila: Anyone Have Bad Experience at PRISM?
From what I've read, there does not seem to be much difference in the staff, procedures, or outcome of either of the SMEF-COW in Cebu or PRISM in Manila locations. The Guidance and Counseling Seminar seems to be designed to inform future brides about the "potential" dangers of marrying a foreign national they may not know that well. It seems to be somewhat of a scare tactic to ensure that folks are aware of the potential dangers and to inform them on how to get help, which is not necessarily a bad thing. There is also a brief one on one session with their staff whereas they may as some questions about the relationship, nothing invasive, but on the same lines as the visa interview. On the surface, it can seem intimidating, but if the fiancé(e) is confident and strong about their relationship, it seems to be just another stepping stone to their ultimate goal. Just be aware that this is not designed to be a pleasant experience, but a tad bit uncomfortable one.

Cheers!!!

Yes you can call DELBROS . .direct number is 02-339-2761 and ask if they already have the visa and if its ready for delivery. I tried their text service but didnt get any reply so I called.

Yes! The petitioner and/or beneficiary may call the USE and ask for DELBROS. Once connected to them, inquire if the visa has been released for delivery. The DELBROS staff will inform you if the visa has been turned over to them for delivery. I found that being very cheerful and nice to them goes a long way. Trust me...

PhilippinesAnyone can confirm please???!!!
I hope that it's true because the USCs don't really contribute much to interview anyway besides taking up space. The visa interview is about the beneficiary and not the USC. Besides, it's rare that the CO even addresses the USC beyond hello, how are you, and have a nice day. I say let the USCs wait in the lobby. I know that it's a huge relief to be accompanied by the petitioner (I get that). However, I have not read that the policy has changed, but it would not surprise me.

Cheers!!!

Sheriff Uling

p.s.
The USC is allowed to accompany the beneficiary for the AOS stages of the process (once the beneficiary arrives in the states).
