CanadaQuestions about medical exam in Montreal

From my understanding you don't need Hep B if you are over 18.

http://www.panelphys.../Pages/Age6.htm

I had no vaccination records, but I went to my local hospital and filled out some form and about 2 weeks later they called me and I went and picked them up.  I see here you are from Belgian though, but is there anyway you can call the hospital where you grew up and they can mail you something?

CanadaMontreal Package 3 Site !

I just came from the library, Because when i tried to do this form at home , my computer wasnt able to open it :-/

4. Confirmation receipt regarding Form DS-160 - one copy, available online at

https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/ ? MUST PRINT AND SEND COPY CONFIRMATION

I am a little confused one site says that the DS-160 isnt needed ....But then Montreal Site ask you for your photo online with exact dimensions etc.

This has started getting some annoying and I feel all alone ,, I went with the intentions to finish this today but it is more than just filling a form

so i will have to go and get a photo. By a Professional .. Any of you guys have had to go through this annoying step ?

PLease i would thank your feedbacks ..

You need to include 2 passport photos anyway, so I believe you can just scan one of those and upload that.

CanadaPacket 3 nearly complete-- please help!

Haha really? tongue.png

Hmmm.. well if it isn't a B2, I have absolutely no idea what I put under Question #31 for my denial.

I would say no.. because you were denied entry, not a visa, since you are Canadian and we don't need a visa to go into the States.  I seem to remember there being a question in one of the forms of packet 3 that specifically asked if you were ever denied entry into the US.  I would think that is the only question you would say yes to.

Verbal affirmation isn't enough?  I assumed it was..I have all my vaccinations & didn't know I would have to go get a blood test!  Is this at ALL of them in Canada?  I will be most likely going to medisys & thought I had read people saying they confirmed verbally without having a test..but maybe I am wrong.

CanadaHow did you prepare?

Hello

I'm in the process of moving from Halifax, N.S to Tuscon Arizona . I'm very excited, but i'm leaving behind a large family and my 19 year old daughter. I have been thinking about these changes and this was a great post to read. I'm wondering how the transition will go and how often I will miss my family. My fiancée is amazing and will be there for me. Going back to visit as often as possible a must.

Thank you

Nice! I am moving from NS too smile.png  To Utah..just north of you!  You're lucky & get the warmer weather!

As soon as you know the consolidate has your case and has sent packet 3, you can send packet 3 to them.  Packet 3 can take forever or never to come!  I never got it. Never got an email or anything in the mail, neither did my fiance.  You can read the guides at the top of the Canada forum on what to do.  Packet 3 is all available online.

CanadaHas anyone regretted leaving Canada?

I would be staying in Canada if I could.  Originally that was going to be the plan.  But the international tuition for him to go to school in Canada is wayy expensive.  So we decided it would be better for him to continue going to school where he is & me move there.  I hope for us return to Canada at some point.  The main thing is for him to finish school there, and once I can, for me to work.  I do like it there from what I have seen from my visits...but I am definitely partial to Canada and where I am born and will miss it a lot I am sure.

Canadamedical review of Dr. Zatzman

Thanks for the review, but I have a totally different question. A bunch of us have submitted our packet 3's through email to montreal and I've noticed that you have an email from Montreal in your timeline that says they emailed you packet 4. What does this email look like? Did you email in your packet 3? It's been almost a month for most of us with no communication whatsoever from Montreal regarding packet 4 - we're all wondering what to expect.

I submitted packet 3 by mail, I did it before it was done by e-mail.  So I just sent it through the mail & got an email about a week later.  So I am no help to you about that :(

Which vaccinations are required for Montreal/how recently do they need to be? Since we're currently stuck in a hell hole of a waiting period, at least we can get those done

The website that was posted is great & says all the vaccinations that are needed.  I went to the local hospital and got my vaccination records, had to wait about a week.  Then got a flu shot & saved the form they gave me.  I was lucky enough to have had all the vaccinations, so I didn't need to get any.  All the boosters I had got in high school were within the 10 yrs so that was good.

Canadamedical review of Dr. Zatzman

I just had my medical done on Friday Dec 6 (yay!).  I had it done in Ontario with Dr. Zatzman.

My appointment was scheduled for 9:30am, I got there at about 9:20.  The room you go to is on the second floor and is quite small.  I went to the desk and told the receptionist I had an appointment with Dr. Zatzman at 9:30 (I had the pleasure of dealing with Michele....), she asked me if I had the right paperwork (without telling me what the 'right' paperwork was..) I said 'yes' (because I knew from reading other reviews what I needed to bring), then she asked what I brought, I was like '...everything' and just handed her my folder of all my stuff so she could sort through it since she wasn't being very helpful.  I brought my interview appointment confirmation, packet 4 from Montreal, my immunization records, 1 passport picture, and my passport.  She then photocopied a bunch of stuff and it took probably 10 mins.  She called the courier to see how much it would be to courier it to Nova Scotia, and that was $25.  Then she asked for $240 in cash (CANADIAN cash).  Then told me to sit down and wait.

I waited about half an hour before Dr. Zatzman called my name.  It was very quick with him, we sat down and he asked me a list of questions, I don't even remember what they were, there were a bunch of them but none of them applied to me, just asking about different diseases and whatnot, asked if I was taking any prescription drugs I think that was the only question I didn't say no to.  Then he got me to stand against the door and read the 2nd bottom line of a chart of letters to check my eyes.  Then he took my height & weight, took my blood pressure and checked my heart rate.  This was all very quick & he made small talk the whole time, talking about how he was from NS as well.  After that he took my immunization records and typed them into the computer, this took the longest, he told me only about 50% of the people he see actually have the right vaccinations done and then they can't get the results in time for their interview... so everyone make sure you have the right vaccinations beforehand!  After this he gave me a couple forms, one for the bloodwork, and one for the xray, and told me where to go.  Very simple process with the Dr!

So I went downstairs and tried to find the blood place, went to the wrong room first but then they told me where to go.  You go in & take a number and sit and wait.  I probably waited about 10 mins before my number was called, the lady asked for my health card, then looked at the form I gave her, looked slightly confused, then said, 'oh nevermind you pay $7.76 for this' (which I knew already), then said she would be right back, and left for a few mins then came back and I paid with my debit.  Then she told me to go to this little cubicle and sit down.  I went in and someone came and tied a rubber thing around my upper arm and told me to make a fist, then basically just stabbed a needle in me and took some blood, stuck a bandaid on and told me to go haha.  It was very quick & slightly unpleasant.

So then it was on the the Xray!  I found that room easily and took a number and sat and waited some more.  Waited probably about 10 or 15 mins, then was called & gave the lady my passport and the form I was given & $50 in cash.  She then told me for some reason she couldn't put my Nova Scotia address in the computer (...dunno why, they had no problems at the Dr. office with it), so then I had to call my Uncle to get his address in Ontario. Then sat and waited a few more minutes before they called me in.  A girl told me to go to a little room with a curtain & take off everything waist up including my bra, & put on a yellow gown that was open at the back.  I velcroed it closed and awkwardly waited with the curtain half open until someone came and told me what to do.  A nice lady came and got me and took me in a room right across from me and told me to press my chest onto this big machine and put my arms around it, she undid the velcro at the back and told me to breath in and hold it and then breath out.  That was it!  i went and changed and left.  smile.png

The whole process felt like it took forever but it really only took an hour and a half.. of mostly waiting..each thing took only a few minutes for the actual process.  I would recommend this place for a medical!

(sorry for the super detailed post I just thought it might be helpful for people who are going to go!)

Just a quick question about the I-134.  My fiance is done his job this week.  He will be moving up to his school after New Years, where we will be living.  He is planning on getting a part time job, but doesn't know what it will be yet.  Should he just state on the I-134 he is a student, and put no income?  If he gets a job before my interview, then send me an updated I-134?  His Dad is going to be the co sponsor (hopefully Montreal won't give me a hard time about him being a student as long as we have a co sponsor eh??)

CanadaMedical complete - Review of Dr Zatsman

So if you don't have all your immunizations your visa gets delayed??  I thought I read somewhere that you could always get them done later on once you entered the United States. My medical exam is in 3 days and I just checked their website and it looks like I'm missing 2 shots.

The Dr. can't give you the results unless you have the proper immunizations.  If you are missing some he would probably tell you to go get them and fax proof to him that you got them before he will send results.  So no, you can't enter the US until you have the immunizations because you wouldn't get a visa without medical results.

Hmm, I thought all you needed was DS-156 (2 copies) and DS-156K?  & don't they already have those from your packet 3?  Or do you have to fill out another copy of each?  Also was not aware we needed copy of the petitioner's passport?  I have a copy from our i-129f I can bring, but had not read that it was needed.  Also, is just a photocopy okay of the petitioner birth certificate?  I have read some people saying they brought the original.  I don't have the original.. Okay fabulous, I read the new requirements, pretty much the same except they say the confirmation page of the online form, which wouldof been in my packet 3 (but also I have copies of).  I made copies of things that were original documents (birth certificate, police check, noa1/noa2).  Should I bother making copies of things like the appointment confirmation and whatnot?  I didn't copy any of those because I figured I don't need them if they take them.

CanadaDouble checking documents for interview + a few questions

Hey there,

My interview was 8 days ago (in Montreal as well). They didn't ask me for the DS-156, the 156K, or even the 160 confirmation page. I think the reason was as you said, these documents were already sent off with Packet 3. But yeah, doesn't hurt to bring them just in case!

As for the receipt, there was a page that says "Your transaction was approved. Thank you for your payment.." etc etc.

Maybe just highlighting the MRV Receipt # on your loomis detail page and showing a credit card statement to prove payment if you don't have it? Someone else might be able to confirm that!

I stapled a ziploc bag to a sheet with the photo's in them-- but the officer just took them out and passed the sheet with the bag back to me haha. So just bringing it in the costco sleeve is fine tongue.png. I wrote my MTL# and name on the back of the photos.

Also, you said your fiance has only been living in the U.S for a few years? I'd bring a photocopy of your fiance's birth certificate/passport to prove U.S status, and anything you can to prove his U.S domicile. I don't think I see that on your list.

All the best at your interview!! Remember to breathe. You'll be fine, they're actually quite nice.

Thanks for your reply.  That makes me feel better about the packet 3 document thing.

Hmm I don't see any sheet that I ever printed that says 'thankyou for your payment', hopefully the MRV fee receipt is all I will need.  I am gonna try and print my credit card statement where it shows I paid.

& sorry I wasn't clear, I just meant my fiance was living out of the country between 2010-2012 (he lived here smile.png) He lived in the States before that, but didn't make income in the States while he was here so he didn't file taxes for those years.  I did print off his lease agreement from the apartment we will be living, a copy of his school schedule (to show he will be attending school there), & a photocopy of his birth certificate.  I did send a copy of his birth certificate & passport with our i-129f packet as well.  Hopefully that will all be good enough!

CanadaDouble checking documents for interview + a few questions

I have my interview on Tuesday Feb 4th... & I already feel sick with stress!  I am going through my folder of stuff & want to list it so someone can double check it for me...I am paranoid I will end up missing something important.

-Appointment confirmation

-Loomis information

-Copy of biographic page of passport

-2 US passport style photos

-Medical results

-Original long form birth certificate (& copy)

-Police check (& copy)

-Letters of intent signed January 10th (from both petitioner & beneficiary)

-Copy of petitioner birth certificate

-Noa1 & Noa2 (originals & copies) & packet 4 (wasn't sure if originals were needed of these but got them anyway!)

-Affidavit of Support - i-134 filled out by petitioner, with tax return from last year (wasn't living in country before that so we couldn't do past 3 years) His father is the co sponsor so he filled out a seperate i-134, we have past 3 years tax returns, w2s, letter from employer, pay stubs.. hope they are mostly interested in him, because my fiance is a student & has no income at the moment so we don't have any supporting evidence for him other than tax return.

-Relationship evidence: pictures of us, phone records, skype calls, letters he sent me, flight itineraries.  Probably won't ask for it but I am of course bringing it just in case!

Now question...it says on the list of things to bring to bring this:

  • Two Nonimmigrant Visa Applications, Form DS-156 (A Form DS-156, prepared in duplicate.)
  • One Nonimmigrant Fiancé(e) Visa Application, Form DS-156K

I already sent these in with packet 3??  I want to be sure on whether I have to do these again or if they will have them with my packet 3.  I do have a copy of my packet 3 that I am bringing with me as well.  I just don't want to get there and find out that I was supposed to fill these out again.  Can anyone who has gone recently tell me for sure that they did or did not ask for these?

Do they know that I have already paid the $240 visa fee? It does say on the appointment confirmation page under applicant details "MRV Fee amount $240" "MRV Fee Receipt:" & then a number..is that all they are looking for?

Also, how do I attach the passport photos?  They came in a little folder from costco..do I leave them in that?  Or paperclip them to a page?  Haha...I am over thinking everything...

I am only going for the night, & am scared to go and navigate on the bus downtown from the airport all alone!  I am not used to that sort of thing haha.  I will be so happy to have it all over with.

Thanks for the help! smile.png
