Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionWorking OFF THE BOOKS.

I have a really good job right now but I got offered another job off the books, I'm pretty excited about that but my husband thinks that that could affect the process that we will start next year (Rem. Cond), you think something could happen???????????????????????

I hope you get caught, get fined, thrown in jail for some period of time, and then deported with a permanent ban on re-entry.

Good luck!

I got the message, don't you understand???????????????????????????????

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionWorking OFF THE BOOKS.
Thank you for your fast responses....

I mention that I have a good job, the only problem are the hours, I have to be at my job at 6.00am so I have to leave my house at 5.10am, I'm working at this place for 8 months and I like the people and everything but I would like to get a 9 to 5 job and that's what I'm being offered (and a much better pay). I'm not desperate for that new job so don't worry, relax, I will never do anything illegal, for what????? I don't want to cause any problem or face deportation.

Thanks again guys......

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionLawyer???Support letters???
Thank you guys fos your fast responses...

Yes, my hubby hired a lawyer for my CR1 process and we paid him about $2500, he wants to do that again but I keep telling him that this is the easiest part of the process (I-751) and we can handle it. I'm sure I will end doing all the work.

I read in one post that letters should have a notarized signature but some people sended it without it and everything went fine for them, should I take the risk??

thanks again..

"It's not necessary to have house bills together. My wife and I don't. We submitted other evidence of our shared life - things that we do have to submit."

Hey Yodrak, we have the same problem, my hubby pays most of the bills, I'm a little nervous about that 'cause I read all the time about people that send bills under the other person as a proof of the relationship. We are planning to send affidavits of support from 3 friends and hubby's father, health insurance and dental insurance documents pictures, tkts from our last vacation to Peru, statements of our credit card, the checking account and saving account is under hubby's name :crying: . You think that 'll be enough???

Thank you very much....

If you are covered under your husband's health insurance (or if he is covered under yours), that is one good example of joint finances. If you share credit cards (both names on statement or each of you has a card with the same account number), that is good proof as well."

Bingo!!! and we are definitely going to send our income tax returns, GC, etc... I'm feeling less nervous right now, thank you guys for all your help. Last question, do all the documents e are sending need to be notarized???? or just the letters from our friends???

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionBiometrics appointment
Hi Guys

O forgot to posted my experience, I had an appointment at 1pm, got to the office at 12.30, I had to fill a form ,then they gave me a ticket and waited just 10 minutes, they took my fingerprints and picture (5 minutes) and that's it, definitely the easiest part of the whole inmigration process. Now we just have to wait for the letter and I'm sure that everything will be ok.

When should I expect the letter???

"It may have been lost among all of the suggestions, but the lease is the most important piece of evidence you can submit right now. The I-751 instructions specifically ask for a copy of a lease or mortgage to show joint occupancy or ownership of a communal residence. Your petition didn't include such evidence. Hence, you received an RFE.

Additional financial evidence may be helpful, but the lease is literally in a class by itself. Good luck and don't worry! If absolute worse comes to worse, they'll just call you in for an interview."

We spoke to our landlord on saturday and he is willing to write a letter for us.
And yes, we sent about 9 pixs , all of them including family and friends during different events

As Reinhard suggested, the lease agreement itself would be best. I'm assuming from your mention of a letter from the landlord that your name is not on the lease. I would see if I could get the lease agreement amended to add you on. That would likely require the involvement of an attorney (i.e., the landlord's attorney), but you might want to see if he is willing to do it.

If not, ask the landlord to execute (sign) a sworn affidavit (i.e., signed before a notary) rather than simply writing a letter. Letters are just letters, but affidavits are legal documents, and the I-751 instructions specifically refer to them. Have the landlord indicate that you WILL be put on the lease when it is renewed, or something like that.

And like Reinhard says, don't panic! Todo saldra bien, te lo prometo.

Thank you for your kind words James and friends, we did sent documents with both our names on them and showing that we live in the same address, our lease ended last June (07) and we haven't talk to our landlord about renewing it, I know sounds crazy right? but we are not planing to stay here forever plus I'm trying to convince my hubby to have a baby soon and this apartment is perfect for a couple during su 'Luna de Miel'. We did make copies of all the documents we went.

I'm going to start calling friends tomorrow morning and ask them for the notarized letters with the info they are asking for.
What sucks is that they waited 6 long months to send us this stupid letter telling us that what we sent is not enough and now they are just giving us 1 month to gather as much info as possible during this time of the year, I hate USCIS!!!!!!!! mad.gif

I have my own saving account, not so much $$$ but hubby's is pretty decent, what do you think about adding my name to his account, will they realize that we just add my name recently???
We don't have a joint checking account, he has his, I have mine.

We just joined a gym together, we will send those documents too. I'm thinking, thinking what else can we send?????
I told hubby that we don't need a lawyer . The first I did all the work and we got this stupid RFE, he doesn't want to take the risk this time

Guys helpsmilie.gif

I'm not in a good mood, we need your help.
Today I came home from work to find this letter from USCIS asking us for more documents to prove that we are in a bona fide marriage, are they crazy???????????????????? what's wrong with them, I feel insulted by this stupid letter. They are giving us until January 7th to submit extra documentation. We have no idea of what else to submit.

We sent them already:
- 3 letters notarized of family and friends.
-Copy of our joint tax return.
-Letter from hubby's company (life insurance)
-Copy of our Visa card showing a joint account.
-Copy of health insurance cards showing a joint policy.
-Copy of airline reservations for a vacation we took together to Peru last year.
-Pictures of trips, New Years and diffrente celebrastion.
-Pay checks of hubby and mine showing our current address.

Maybe I made a mistake opening my own checking account???
We don't own our apartment, we pay monthly.

Any suggestions? Hubby is freaking out, he thinks that we made a mistake not hiring a lawyer to help us with this process but I thought that that wasn't necessary.

helpsmilie.gif

I forgot to mention that we sent both our paychecks stating our current address, pictures, and copy of my green card. Silvio is going to make an appointment with our lawyer (the one we hired to help us with the Visa Process), he thinks that is going to save us. He wanted to hire him to start with this process (Rem. Cond) but I told him that that wasn't necessary, my mistake . I know I might sound a little desperate but we are very nervous, Sil says that he woud like them to show up at our apartment at any time and see how we live, or maybe go to an interview. It's so unreal, we live together, we have a normal life we are a REAL COUPLE. My in laws are super upset and I think that my father in law is going to contact our Senator (he has good connections) I think thta he is afraid that IF tHey send me to Peru his son will have to move with me.

I just called the satellite company and add my name to the account, and you are right, we have personal "proves" but we need more financial proves, we tought that sending the Docs from the insurance Company, letter from hubby's job and the tax returns was going to be enough.
Last time I sent some magazine subscriptions too, I will try to collect as much junk as I can.
