Mexico, Latin & South America	Hi, I'm from Peru	Thanks MandyR As I said before I'm very close to my sister and we look alot alike, she's my little sister (23) and I feel that since I moved to this country we became even closer. I know that I can go to visit her and my family whenever I want but it's not really that easy, I have some responsabilities now, a husband to take care of and a job plus next year he wants to go on a 'REAL VACATION" as he says, I undestand that he had been to my country 13 times (too many??) but family is family and I won't change that for 1 year travelling the world (exagerating a lil' bit) I'm sure you will have plenty of help during the cruise, my in laws are going on a cruise to Canada next week (I can't wait ) Saludos Vi	Vi Mazzella	Female	Peru	2007-09-06 06:36:00

I'm sure they are celebrating in Lima that you MIL got her Visa as Melissa said it makes a huge difference to have family around. My sister still with us, she is going back home next saturday and I'm getting really sad, after 1 motnh and a half I get so used to her, we do so many things together and we are having so much fun , it's funny how she knows what I like, what I don't like, what I'm going to say, that's why we are sisters right? MandyR you asked about the visa process for parents, my parents got their Visas last year, they told me that was pretty easy but they got a little nervous. They brought as many documents as they could but the guy who interviewd them checked just the letters from my parents jobs and an invitation letter that me and my husband sent. Some people told me not to do that but we went for it anyway and according to my mom that helped alot. My parents got 10 year Visas and my brother and sister 5years (they are students). We are doing very well, enjoying the summer and my little sister's visit, she arrived on the 28th and is going to stay 'til september 15th. Last week I took off and we were very busy showing her NYC. We visited more places in one week than in two years. Next week I'm taking off again and we will continue visiting other places. Melissa, 've you decided about names???? My hubby's family keep saying that I'll have a big belly too, I'm a small person (5'2 108 lbs)and Sil is much taller (6'2 ????) he weighted almost 10 lbs when he born. Right now we are gathering information to send our I-751, I'm dealing with all the papers 'cause my hubby wants to pay a lawyer and I want to show him that we can do it without spending $$$$. Yesterday we had an special dinner at my in-laws (Sunday Easter), we had a good time but I have to say that I miss alot the famous "campings" my family loves to go to the beach, actually they go every weekend and is our tradition to close the summer season with a gigantic CAMPAMENTO. We don't have that in NYC What else, oh, something funny happen 1 month ago, my best friend from kindergarden contacted me through the hi5 , she moved to NYC 6 years ago, and is living just 4 blocks from my house, isn't that crazy???? !!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy about that, now we hang out all the time. .Last friday we went to Pardo's Chicken and enjoy a delicious "Chaufa a la Brasa", + "Anticuchos" with "Tacu Tacu" yes they sell tacu tacu at Pardo's Chicken. .Melissa, I'm so happy for you, I keep saying to Sil that when I get pregnant I don't want to know the sex of the baby but he says that he'll definitely want to know. .MandyR I'm glad you had a great time in Peru, to be honest I don't think that the prices went up, I bought so many things to bring to the States.... where did you get married? wich church??? . We got satellite, finally decided to change the service and now we get "CADENA SUR PERU" , is like being in Peru!!!! Well guys gotta go back to work..... When I went to Peru we bought a bunch of stuff for the house too like pOottery from ChuLucanas, retablos,a new nativity, last year I went to a flea market here in NYC and is amazing how people overcharge the prices. There is a peruvian lady near my job who sells jewelry from our country I talked to her and she charges maybe 5 times the real price of the products, crazy!! Mexico, Latin & South America	Hi, I'm from Peru	I forgot to mention the taxis, I take the taxis by myself while Sil hides 'cause if they see him they will overcharge us. Ex: We tried to take a taxi from Larcomar to the Kennedy park ( maybe 7 blocks???) s/.15 , was he crazy?????? and when I took it by myself s/.3.5. Here I learned to give tips and to be honest I felt really good doing that in my country,specially for Christmas. I'm planning to go back in June and then next January, I miss the summer so much , it's so cold in NY . Good Luck Meli, I'm sure your parents are dying to see you again. KEMERLY...>> As Melissa said, try to spend alot of time with your family and friends,take pictures, get videos,enjoy the food 'cause being far is not so easy. I made the mistake to go to the Indian Markets in Petit Thouars with my hubby Plop!! a soon as they saw him they charge me double the price, I went back the next day with my dad and I got the regular prices. Another places that we love is "El Tayta" a bar in Miraflores with diferent kinds of Pisco Sour. "Huaringas" is in our list, great Pisco Sour too. If you like to dance be prepared 'cause eveybody listens to "Reggaeton" we are not big fans of that rythm but they play it everywhere. That's it.... good luck in your trip!!!! Mexico, Latin & South America	Hi, I'm from Peru	Amigos!!! I´m sure all of you had great celebrations,we went to a nice party with my family and had a blast. I can´t believe that I have to go bck o the States tomorrow, we are flying at 11.30 arriving in JFK at 8.30, time went by fast and there are so many things that we didn´t do in Lima. Part of me wants to stay but at the same time I know that I have responsabilities in the States,I have to go back to work on thursday and I´m not so happy about that, Sil says that is ok if I want to stay for a few mor weeks but I feel bad for him. For those who haven´t been here and are planning to visit Lima soon: I love to be here but I felt a bit insecure, taking taxis and having people asking for $$ is not a good feeling + I hate when people turn around ´cause my husband is not peruvian and looks like the typical "gringo" I never see people doing that in th US. The traffic is another story. I had a bad experience last week, going to the gym a guy followed me and grab my ---- I turned around and started yelling at him nobody did anything I got so mad Well amigos time to go,I have to start packing, ah, don´t forget to visit LARCOMAR they change it a little bit,it´s much bigger now and has really cool stores. saludos Vi	Vi Mazzella	Female	Peru	2007-01-01 19:36:00

Uhmmmmm I'll say "El Muellecito" in San Borja (Rosa Toro Av.), I live in NYC and there are plenty of peruvian restaurants and peruvian bodegas (*Queens & Portchester) we try to go there once a month to eat some good ceviche,tallarines verdes,anticuchos,trucha frita, etc and after that we go to visit the bodegas to buy some Inca Kola,sublimes,sorrento,cuacua,triangulo (yes, Sil loves peruvian chocolates) we are looking everywhere for Pisco but can't find it so each and everytime somebody from Peru comes to visit us my mom sends some bottles (Vargas and Biondi, no, we are not alcoholic, but who can resist a good Pisco Sour???) I try to cook peruvian food almost everyday, I got this book "Que cocinare hoy??? from Nicolini and helps me ALOT. Even Sil is cooking now, I taught him how to make Papa a la Huancaina and our addiction : CANCHITA!!!!! we have canchita all the time and his family love it too. I miss to have a maid too ( I miss you Delia!!!) I wish I can hire own but maids are really expensive here (they make about $500 a week) maybe when I win the lottery. As all of you I miss my family, my friends, my doggy, the cheap taxis, the combis, the noise, and I'm counting the days to go back to Peru for Christmas (Just 180 more days!!!!!!!!) K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Peruvian Civil Marriage	We got married in Peru and followed the CR1, when my husband came back to the States he had to proof that the can support me financially, that's why they ask you for your taxes from the last 3 years. For the interview we just brought the Marriage certificate,pictures from the wedding (with both families on it), emails that we printed, phone cards, pictures from the HoneyMoon and that's it. I went to see Dr.Situ about 3 years ago and to be honest he was super nice to me, maybe because of the fact that he knew my pediatrician??. I honestly think that you should present a complaint to the Embassy because obviously they are overcharging the price and if she was able to "reduce" the price that means that they are giving their own rates. Another thing that surprised me is that now they are adding the HPV vaccine, three years ago they didn't have that one on the list (not that I remember) and here in the States they give that vaccine to girls from 12 (or 13) to 26 years old and I'm sure that the price is much less. When you go to the Embassy for the interview, complain, it's not possible that they are trying to take advantage of you guys, Dr. Situ has to stop doing that!!!
