K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	June 2008 Filers!	Hello!!! I called the NVC to find out when the apporval was sent there. After almost 30 minutes waiting in the line, I finally talked to an operator. Now I read that some of you could track the paperwork. How do you do it??? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	June 2008 Filers!	Guys!!!!!!! We were approved!!!!!!!!! I cant believe it!!!! I am sooooooooooooo happy!!!! I talked to my fiance this morning and I told him to check his mail from now on because the NOA2 would come anytime. He told me he hadnt received anything yet. Two hours later, I received a text message from him. He wrote: get on line. I had a feeling that something good was going on. Well I got online and he told me: I got the approval letter!!!!!!!!! I got speechless He read the whole notice three times I will see my baby boy very soon!!!!! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	I came to the US with K1 visa and didn't go back. What do I need to do now?	I don't understand why you said you didn't know about the k1 visa. When you get your visa, THE NAME OF YOUR PETITIONARY is there. When you enter the USA, the immigration officer stamped your I-94 and HE/SHE PUT THE NAME OF YOUR PETITIONARY over there. So that means, you must marry WITH YOUR PETITIONARY = FIANCEE = FUTURE WIFE. Sorry but you have no choice but pack your things and go back to your country. It's a risk for you to stay here, and even worse if you dont work. I'm trying to help you. Well it's not a H1B or H2B visa. It's a visa as a nanny (green card by employer sponsored labor certification through PERM). so far, I am waiting for my I-140 immigrant petition for alien worker to be approved. But I have been waiting for almost 3 years. I know this is not a K1 subject but my boyfriend is getting anxious to start filing my K1 since it takes about 6 months approx and i dont know how long i have to wait for the whole process regarding my work visa. In the U.S. one of his last names is considered his middle name. But for Brazilians it's not a big deal because their final last name IS their last name (it's the opposite of other Latin American countries) and he doesn't have a middle name. I recommend you to put only the first last name. I did it, I filled out the forms with my paternal last name. The maternal last name wont be useful anyway in USA..... I forgot about it until now. I was atlking to a friend and she told me the I-94 should be given before you leave USA. As far as I know there are only two Service Centers: California and Vermont for K1 visas. So i think you should call USCIS and ask for an explanation. My fiance hired a lawyer even though i told him not to do it because he could check all the information here but he prefered to spend almost 1,000 dollars!!! and the lawyer gave him all the forms I sent him. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Tourist visa while K-1 is pending	Well I think to get a tourist visa is just a matter of luck. The first time I got a tourist visa, I went to the embassy with all my bank statements, letter from my employer, taxes (from my country Peru). The consul asked me the purpose of my trip,I just said i was goingt o my cousin´s wedding. She checked the letter of my employer at that time and she gave me the visa. She never checked my bank statements or taxes, my cousin´s wedding invitaion, anything!!!!.....I was very lucky. However, I had a bad experience also at the embassy. I returnec to the embassy last year because my work authorization was approved in the Department of Labor in the United States. They made me come back to Peru becuase they said I needed to ask for the work visa here. So I returned to peru, went to the embassy with the letter of approval (from the Department of Labor of the United States), the letter from immigration (approval), the letter of my employer (I started working there with my temporal work authorization) but this time the consul told me I overstayed in USA!!!!! of course I didn´t!!!! I studied there and I extended my status while I was a student. Even though I had all the evidence she denied my work visa!!!!! of course I was devastated and I asked her: what am I going to do now?? she told me: well, get a job here (in Peru). And I replied: but I have a job waiting for me in New York (and my boyfriend but I didnt say that) and she told me: don´t worry, I am sure there are plenty of capable people who can do your job!!!!!!!!!!! So as you can see, it´s all just a matter of luck. That´s why my fiance decided to start the K1 process for me. However I would like to go back to the embassy to ask for a tourist visa again. But sometimes I think it's not a good idea because I would be very disappointed and frustrated if they deny my visa. So please let us know if you go to the US embassy and good luck!!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Immigration Lawyer/Attorney	I recommend you to do it yourself..... my fiance hired a lwayer because he said he would feel better to get a lawyer just in case. However, he received the NOA2 last saturday and he tried to contact the lawyer today to see what the next step is, and of course, she didnt answer, so he left a message. Meanwhile, in Lima-Peru, I called NVC, got all the information about the date the package left NVC and went to Lima, thanks to VJ members I could track the package and I know already that the package is here. And almost half day passed already and my fiance is still waiting for the lawyer's phone call. I updated him about everything only through this page. I was also worried because I lived in New York for 5 years and I also asked the same question and my VJ friends told me that I dont need the criminal records from USA.
