US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMedical exam NIGHTMARE

My Fiance went into Ho Chi Minh for her medical and was turned away because she didn't bring her interview letter and a Form DS-156, 156K, and DS 230 Part 1.

It was it so apparently obvious in the instruction letter or did i miss something???????????????????????? No where did it say you have to bring those things to the damn medical examination! Maybe i am just blinded by my anger, but now she has to come home to Cam Ranh and then wait for all those documents (sent by me) and then come back in. AND on top of all that, it says you have to do the medical AT LEAST one week before the interview? How come i never caught on onto any of this, here on this forum or any where else? I feel so incompetent. Hoping that this is just a new procedure???

Now I hope your fiancee brings her appointment to her interview. (as stated on the appt letter)

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-134

In the instructions for the I-134, it says a separate one should be filled out for each person. I am also petitioning my fiancee daughter, but I have read where people have sent only one and that was good enough. It does have a section to list the K-2 so is it required to fill out an extra one? I don't have a problem filling out two but I don't see why. If anyone can clear up the confusion for me, I would be appreciative.

Thanks

Just send an extra I-134 for your fiancee's daughter in case.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionEmbassy in Manila Changes It's Story

Well we called the US Embassy in Manila today to make another follow up on our cases. However, this time they told us we can NOT request a CR1 interview even if they do have our paperwork. Whats up with that? Now we are more confused than ever, again.

Orimai

I would wait to see if NVC schedules your CR interview. Then when you go to your K-3 interview, tell the consul that you have a CR case file at the US embassy. I've seen a few applicants being issued CR visa instead of K-3 visa. It never hurts to try.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionAffidavit of support

Haha! I figured as much anyway. I just thought I'd ask that crazy question regarding the interview. Anyway, how do I go about finding out if I am above or below poverty level. Is the affidavit just for people with children?

The Affidavit is for everyone filing for the fiancee visa....here is some info for the povertry level for 2007, if you do not meet the income requirements, then you would need to have a co-sponsor. Please copy and paste the following info: http://www.visajourn...h...ost&id=3585

Actually, here's the USCIS 125% Poverty level chart: http://www.uscis.gov...form/I-864P.pdf

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionManila Embassy Interview

Good Day and Hello!

My Fiance (Mirasol) and I (Scott) are relatively new to VJ, but really have found it to be a lot of help. Thank you to all who post great information here.

A little about us....I am from California and my honey is from the Davao area. We filed K-1 visa back in October 2006 after a LENGTHY Philippine Anullment process for my honey. We got our NOA2 on 1-17-07 while I was visiting her in the Philippines, which was very nice as we could celebrate together. I remember it so well because according to the USCIS site it said now processing in July and we were not till Octover, so I was shocked when I got the email that its approved already. My honey was sleeping and I woke her up for the good news.

Then the not so good news came a few weeks later. Her packet arrived at the NVC and I called to inquire about whether it was sent on the USE in Manila. I was politely told that our case had been placed in "Administrative Processing". I asked what that was and how long it will take. The nice woman said, "I don't have any more information and I don't know how long it will take." What? No more infomation? How can that be? She just said sorry and told me basically, "Don't call us, wait, and we will let you know when it has been forwarded." I was in shock and panic. Luckily, I called back every week and on my second call the guy was nice enough to tell me its just "normal" security checks, but still no clue when it will be forwarded to the USE Manila. I kept calling every week and finally I received the good news that it was forwarded to the USE Manila on 2/23/07. We are just anxiously awaiting notification of her interview date.

In the meantime we are reading this site over and preparing documents for the interview. Hoping she can be here by this summer. :)

Thanks again for all your great information and assistance.

Scott and Mirasol

Welcome Scott & Mirasol,

I know the process sucks but in the end, it will be worth the wait. Good luck the rest of your process.

US Embassy and Consulate Discussiongetting ready for my interview

Gosh, Im getting nervous knowing my interview is getting near. I have already prepared my documents and my husbands affidavit of support and his mom's too which our co-sponsor. I hope I would able to answer all CO's questions. I havent paid my visa fee yet, im goin to do that tomorrow. I read from the forum that I need to present my DS forms to the bank for validation?

These are the list i'll be bringing on my interview:

1. DS - 156 and 157
2. my husbands I134 (eventhough the figures are not enough)
3. His moms I134 (with enough income to support her family including me!)
4. Their bank statements, Their Net Deposit Information from Jan 2006 to Feb 2007
5. My husbands transcript from his school (he'll going to graduate in august)
6. Letter to Counsular Officer from his mom stating that that she is assuring them that I wont be a public charge and will support them all through out.
7. Their property tax bill and etc.
8. W2 forms.
9. My birth certificate (authenticated) Marriage contract (authenticated), NBI Clearance

EVIDENCE:

10. Copies of emails, pictures, Snail mail letters, copies of financial support (eg. receipts),

Have I missed something?! Please help me out! Thanks! :help:

1. 2 copies of each.

8. Latest 2006 Income tax return (copies)

9. Cenomar. Even though you're now married, get one in case. There was a member (K-3) in PinoyInfo forum and was put on AR for a Cenomar.

I dont have a CENOMAR already cuz I already gave that to the Municipal Hall before getting married?! I dont think I could still get it from NSO cuz Im already married?! IS that really a big issue without having a CENOMAR?!

I'm just giving you an advice and I'm just letting you know what really happened. Municipal Hall is not the US embassy.

and are u saying that I need to present my own 2006 Income tax return as well?! W2 forms are their INCOME TAX RETURN in 2006.

Not you! Just from your husband. The consul just wants to see if he filed his 2006 taxes, that's all (that's the word out). W-2s are only proof of income.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPaying K1 Visa fee in Philippines

in the philippines you are supposed to pay your visa fee
at the bank and your supposed to get the 156 form stamped
as a receipt.

is this correct?

my gf just paid and the bank teller didnt stamp her 156
but stamped the back of a blank 157 form.

what gives?

I don't know where you got that info but only the DS-157 is stamped.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI AM SOOOO FRUSTRATED!!!!

My wife had her interview on May 17, 2007. She needed to submit additional paperwork and had it all turned in on May 22, 2007. Delbros website is NOT working and I have contacted the the embassy twice in 2 weeks and they just tell me to wait 6 weeks and if she doesn't get her visa by then to call back again. HMMMM???? I see others receiving their visas who has interview before her and on same day!!!! It's just frustrating. I miss them so much and I am dying without them, my wife an our daughter. GRRRR!!!!!!!

Sorry that no one had replied to you but what's the status with your wife & kid now?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPolice Report & K1 pending

Hello

I am from Malaysia, applying K1 fiance visa, and still waiting for NOA2 to be approval, submitted my case since 20th of Apr, and my last updated date is 24th of Apr (NOA1).

You know, around a few years back, a K-1 petition took on avg 6-8 months. Sometimes in 2-3 months but even though you had seen members who had their case approved quick doesn't mean yours should either. You have to remember that each case is different and depending on who's file is on USCIS's desk. You'll just have to be patient for a little while longer.

They check your body (while being naked). Urine & blood samples. Chest X-Ray. They'll ask you questions like medical conditions you may had in the past, any past surgeries, when is the last time you had sex, etc.

I didn't have to give a urine sample, and I wasn't asked when I last had sex. But I was asked when my last period was.

I was also asked about a health condition I listed on the form (just another condition that isn't a problem if the patient is treated). The doctor only wanted to know when I began treatment for it and the type and dose of medication I take for it. I had a letter from my doctor about it and my last lab results, but they weren't needed. (But I was glad I had them just in case.)

I was given a paper sheet to cover me for the exam by the doctor, which he partially removed for the prodding part. I was allowed to keep my underwear on.

It sounds like it depends in part on the doctor you go to.

Do a search for medical reviews of the doctor you'll be going to, and you'll get more information. smile.gif
I don't need to! This was some of my wife's medical experience.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionThings that need done to get the K1 Visa in Manila

Lets go over the things that need to be done by the Beneficiary to get the K1 Visa in Manila, Philippines, and what is the earliest each step can be done?

What do you have to have in order to be complete each step?

What can be done before receiving packet, and what must wait?

Help me put the pieces together for each step now that K1 is at the USE Manila.

Examples are (and what steps are missing?):

  • Collect Clearances and CENOMAR
  • Complete forms (DS-156, 156K, 157)
  • Medical
  • CFO (is this same as PRISM?) Does Beneficiary attended before seminary and/or counseling first then go back and get a stamp after visa is issued?
  • Interview
  • Anything Else?
If there is a flowchart breaking these steps down in detail, I haven't seen it yet, so ……

Please don't say use search feature or this has been gone over before.

If you can't be constructive, just ignore this post, LOL.

Thanks in advance for any help you may provide.

Respectfully,

Robert

Robert,

Come over to pinoyinfo.net we have all info about the process. To much crowd here in VJ.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionThings that need done to get the K1 Visa in Manila

I got my side (USA) pretty well covered, new Original BC, Letters from Bank and Employers (have full and part time jobs) that need to be redone, I got them too early (LOL), original evidence of Both trips to PI, Copies of Passport pages notarized, Tax transcripts from IRS for 4 years notarized, Bank Statement, Certified copies of Divorce, More photos, e-mails, chat logs, snail mail. Also have New Letter of Intent, entire copy of K1 application. And Copies of car and motorcycle titles, plus mortgage balance and papers from house purchase/appraisal, etc. Waiting till interview is set to do I-134.

Trying to understand the Philippines side of process now.

Also, I thought the DS-230 was for K3 or for SO with kids?

Best wishes,

Robert

Hi there Robert! Since you got all the necessary documents well covered, how about making your fiancee attend the CFO seminar now? Once you got an idea of your medical and interview appointments, she can have her medical done earlier as well. Because it will take a while for her to receive the packet 4, where the appoint letter will be sent as well, she'll need to bring the hardcopy of your NOA2 and a print out from USE Manila website of her schedules for her to have medical done. Make her gather necessary documents for herself like police clearances, NBI, Cenomar and BC (in case they'll ask for it) and I think she can also start filling out forms at this time. We have close timeline and like you, I'm still waiting for my appointments but I've decided to take the CFO on mid April. I'm still waiting for my fiancee to send me the Tax transcripts, letter from his bank, I-134, etc, etc... While waiting, I'm compiling other documents that we can use for my interview and have started getting police certificates.

And yes, DS-230 is for K3.

I hope I was of help! Good luck!

Mae

DS-230 are for immigrant visa route like CR/IR.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionHow late can you file for removal of CR?

One does not have to be in the USA to file an I-751.

You know that both husband & wife must sign.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-797C-question

We received a I-797C addressed to my wife's son stating "VERFICATION OF INCLUSION OF A DEPENDENT" Will my wife also receive a NOA or is this it? The NOA lists her as the principal alien. We also tried to to enter the case number on the USCIS site and nothing comes up. The case is with the TEXAS SERVICE CENTER.

It basically means that your step-son's Green Card has been extended for one year while the case is being processed. As for your wife's, she should be getting her own I-797.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAnyone filed in Los Angeles recently?

Hi!
I've recently sent my application to the Los Angeles service center. It was received by them on Feb 13th and the check was cashed in on Feb 25th. I am yet to receive the NOA. I'm wondering if I'm gonna get my biometric appointment/GC on time before i travel. My green card expires on April 21 and I'm traveling abroad on April 16th..
Has anyone recently filed in Southern California? Thanks for sharing your experience!

You should be getting your NOA this week or next week. My wife's NOA came in three weeks. If in doubt, call USCIS.

The bio appt letter will be sent a week after your NOA. I think your bio appt would be before April 16th.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionafter the biometrics

What's the normal wait for the "10 year Green Card".

My wife did her Biometrics in Mid-January 2007, two months ago.

We did it in Northern Virginia, near DC

Anywhere from 2 months to a year or even longer.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionIndianapolis: rescheduling biometrics appointment

If anyone has any experience in trying to reschedule a biometrics appt. at the Meridian St., Indianapolis center, could you please share?

Is there any possibility of showing up there as a walk-in? The whole "send the letter back" process seems so inefficient. I HAVE to be out of town on work the day they sent the appointment for

Thanks in advance!

p.s. Edited for bad writing (F)

If it weren't for rescheduling, which would you choose? Not showing up to your bio appt or going out of town?

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionprocessing time. CA. Laguna Nigel.

Hello, my conditional card expires in July and i'm looking up all the info and doing research, etc.
There are two purposes to this post.
1. inquiring about the processing time for 751 in the CA processing center at Laguna Nigel.
2. soliciting opinions about what i need
my general situation is a bit unique because neither of us is exactly mature or stable.
we are in our early twenties, i'm a college senior..
we have very little money, live at my parents for free - thus no lease, not that much documentation either. i'm basically working my a$$ off to get into med school right now and it's looking pretty good. the interview officer for i485 even made a comment that we are indeed "very young". luckily we've been doing pretty well for the past 3 years since we got married.
so, this is a list of what i have, so please feel free to suggest anything to add on, especially in our situation.
- joint tax returns
- joint utility bills: gas, phone, electricity
- seperate bills showing the same mailing adrress: amazon receipts, seperate cellphone bills (we hate each other's provider).
- driver's licenses with the same address (filed during i485)
- joint bank accounts
- joint invesment account (not very much money, but we do what we can)
- affidavits from my mom, his sister, seveal our friends we've known for many many years even given our youth
- my mom can say that we live there for free
- we don't have joint ownership of his car because... i never drive it and the line at dmv is ridiculous
- we hardly have any pictures since we got married because my camera got soaked and i haven't managed to get a new one until jan. also, i am really busy with school, thus we've both been quiet a bore in the last two years.
there is a sort of artistic half nude picture of me taken from the back in a mirror and you can see him holding the camera in the mirror. it's a bit suggestive.. i'm not sure if i should put it in.
- have seperate credit cards, but same mailing address, because if one overspends we can fight it out and blame it on each other!@@@ ho... ... jk... well kind of serious too.

i think that's the stuff i have for now,
thank you for your help.

Include the $275 fee

Get another camera or go to a photo place where they can take a picture of the two of you. But in my experience, I never include any pictures to the I-751 package.

The I-751 petition is not about affidavit of support, only to prove that the 2 of you are still married.

Nevermind about the processing times at CSC as my wife received her green card in less than 2 months from the day we filed.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 Late-filing emergency

Hi,

The posts that I've read so far has really given me a heads-up, and just wished that I came across it many months ago. My wife and I have been married since 2003 (I've been a naturalized citizen for the last 20+ years), and she was on a conditional PR (and have been in the country for the last 4 years.)

Unfortunately, we are 6 months late in filing the I-751, and am faced with what seems like a huge problem / emergency / challenge.

Here are the most worrisome facts that we're faced with:

  • Her conditional PR card has been expired for 6 months
  • We've never made her a SS#
  • No shared financial statements (partly due to lack of #SS, also because I was paying for most everything)
  • Haven't had a wedding ceremony
  • Tax returns have not been filed for the last 3 years
Now what we do have:
  • Her checking/saving account and mine are to the same address
  • We have paid for each other's expenses each other's debit cards
  • Have trustworthy colleagues & clients who can sign affidavits
  • Have plenty of photographs, videos, and other personal items
  • Have hired a CPA to help us file the tax returns, which will be filed jointly
We're just deathly afraid that we have become what NOT to do in a marriage case, and have made too many mistakes. Of course we'd love a year to get her a SS# and get everything in a joint status, as we're thinking of buying a house later this year, but if she enters the removal process it will all be moot.

What are our chances? Should we hire an immigration lawyer? How realistic is to get a one year extension to get things in order?

I almost wish they came by at odd hours to check on us (I've heard stories of immigration officers coming by at odd hours) or even a surveillance camera!

Would most welcome any advise or comments -- thank you in advance...

- worried in NYC

Geez, you don't need a CPA to file your tax returns, but you need a little common sense to apply for an ITIN for your wife (since she is not now eligible to apply for her SSN without a valid Green Card).

Lots of people are late filing the I-751 package, but you have a few other problems to complicate things.

You need to file the I-751, with some evidence of cohabitation and commingling of assets, IMMEDIATELY. You can then wait for whatever demands USCIS makes of you.

You guys may have to do the Adjustment of Status over, but maybe not.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionFiling I-751 in 10-12 days

Hi,

Okay my husband and I will be filing our removal of conditions petitions in about 10-12 days from today. So far I have all documents except for the affidavits and I haven't written the check yet. My petition has about 100 pages give or take. Please review it and tell me if I have enough evidence or if I have forgotten any evidence. Also could you tell me with the following documents below if I should add the affidavits (I don't have them done as of yet) and before I am told to read the guide I know they are optional. I am just looking for opinions.

Complete and signed Form I-751
Front & back copy of green card for beneficiary
Copy of Alabama driver’s license for beneficiary
Copy of USC identification
Copy of Welcome to US notice
Copy of marriage certificate in Arabic & English
Power bill
Cable/Internet bill
Home phone bill
Cell phone bill
Letter from bank showing beneficiary as a joint account holder
Bank statements
Copy of life insurance policy showing my husband as beneficiary
Statement from Health insurance Company showing my husband as a
dependent on my health insurance
Health Insurance Claim Reports
Copy of health insurance card
2005 joint federal and state tax return w/W-2's
2006 joint federal and state tax return w/W-2's
Retirement Dept change form(adding my husband as beneficiary)
Annual retirement statement(showing husband as beneficiary)
Joint car loan documents
copy of car registration
Mail addressed to Beneficiary &/or Petitioner & Beneficiary
Pictures of us/family and friends

What do you think is this enough?

How could this be 100 pages? Anyway, if you bear a child or more to your husband, copy of birth certificate as stated in the I-751 instructions. Also as stated in the I-751 instructions, affidavits from at least two people.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionChaneg of address

Hi guys, long time no see, :) I have just moved, 10 days ago and went on the uSCIS website and found the AR-11 form for the change of adress. On the form, it says I need to notify of a change of address WITHIN 10 days of moving!!! The officer we have met when I got approved for conditional permanent residence said we had 30 days ... so I did not worry. Am I on the correct form here? Is there another form I need to fill in? Please let me know, if so, and also if there is anything else I should do to notify them we have changed our address.
Thansk a lot and blessings to all!!
Mo

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionTravel evidence

Hi,

I have a question about the travelling evidence.

we travelled to Chicago few months ago together, I was going to attach that as an evidence. My question is we booked our tickets online, and we dont get the regular tickets excpet half of the checking receipt, I was wondering what shoulde we submit, is that half check in receipt enough? (it has name, dates, city, gates, time and seat number)

do we also have to show the tickets order confirmation printed from internet?

thank you all

Tomjerry

Maybe a hotel or any other receipt that has both your names on it?
