it is a week now i have been trying to schedule an appointment and the system reads N0 AVAILABLE APPOINTMENT!! I tried to contact csc and told them my case expires october and they told me the only advice they can give is i keep trying maybe il get an available slot or if i want to travel i change the consulate!!! i feel so stressed, stuck and confused. any advice or idea on this is welcomed.

I went to my interview today at 7.15 and after 5hr i was out. the long thing was que and waiting. my biometric was taken my chinese woman who was speaking kikuyu!!! i was interviewed by a young american lady. she wasnt friendly or harsh. atleast she did me justice and said 'everything looks ok Congratulations i have approved your Visa! yayy! nightmares and sleepless nights are over thank you Jesus

That's what I figured; since he is here legally and meets the requirements and everything :) Plus the added bonus of no fees and there isn't a whole mass of paperwork to collect! It will certainly feel weird to send in a package with almost nothing in it...I'll feel like I'm missing something!

My husband entered the US on the K-1 visa, and became a permanent resident last March, which would make him eligible for citizenship next year. However, he's recently joined the US Army, leaving for boot camp in May. Since the service in a time of conflict still applies, we were thinking that we would file for Naturalization while he's in AIT, since you only have to serve 1 day to be eligible for that exception. Plus, his Canadian passport expires next year, and we were hoping to get an overseas posting, and would rather have his citizenship before all that, so we wouldn't have to worry about getting another Canadian passport.

My only concern is that he entered on the fiance visa, and we had planned to file for citizenship that way, but the provision is there....I'm concerned that USCIS might think that we were trying to scam the system. Has anyone else gone this route (or something similar)?

My hubby left for Army basic training last week, and took along his naturalization papers. At first they told him he would have to wait until AIT to file, but yesterday he went to the INS officer with his paperwork. THe officer filed everything, told him that he would have an interview later, and should be naturalized at family day!! :dance: I'm really really excited to be done with all of this!!!!

Has anyone else gone through this process? I'm hoping that I'll get the NOA or something in the mail perhaps? Anyone know? Thanks!

DH got his green card through marriage and he's had it for two years, so next year he would be eligible for citizenship, but he joined the Army so he's eligible now which is great :) Didn't have to get piles upon piles upon piles of evidence together!!! But he's just a little hard to get ahold of right now, which is frustrating! And I didn't think I'd need power of attorney, so I didn't get it :/ go figure!

I hope I get another letter with the info that I need...at least then I can collect it and mail it to my hubby. I told him about the NOA, but since his fingerprints and interview and everything are all supposed to be done on base, we figured that the officers there would take care of it and if there's anything they really need they can get ahold of me...They told him that he should have his interview while in Basic and should be naturalized on Family Day...fingers crossed!!!!

Did anyone else get this on their NOA1?

"The above application has been received by out office and is in process, but has been noted with one or more of the following exception(s):
Missing Evidence(s) - your application was missing evidence(s) that you will need to provide at the time of your naturalization interview. You will be notified under separate notice of the necessary evidence(s) that you will be required to bring to your interview. Do not submit any evidence(s) by mail."

Does that not sound utterly confusing and annoying?? (And is 'evidences' even a word, for that matter???) Ugh.

I tried calling USCIS, but they wouldn't give me any info because my DH is unreachable...He was told that the interview and everything would be handled there on base, so I'm trying not to stress too much, but I hope that there isn't anything that I really need to send him...

My husband got a summons a while back. There was paperwork to fill out and send in, and he later got a postcard saying he was excused because he wasn't a citizen. Of course, he also had to fill in the members of his household and, mysteriously, I got a summons a month later :/

Got some great news today! I got a call from USCIS' San Antonio office, and they said that my husband has been approved for citizenship, he just needs to call them and make an appointment to come in and take the oath! That was a *huge* relief...of course he's not able to use his phone until late in the afternoon/evening, which is what I told the woman...hopefully we can work this all out and get it done and over with soon!!!

I am SO FED UP with USCIS!!! How does it take 2 months to run a background check from Canada? And how did those incompetents get 10 of them done, but somehow neglected ours??? Freaking idiots!!!
