Middle East and North AfricaFront loading question

In relation to the OP's question, there is no risk that required forms (I-134) and required documents (birth certificate) would be rejected at the interview.  The beneficiary would be expected and required to submit those items at that time.

Ooops! Sorry, I read it as a 2 part question.... Part 1 being standard front-loading of evidence and part 2 being the BC and such. Sorry for that. I did not mean to confuse anyone

Middle East and North AfricaFront loading question
I would front-load just to be on the safe side considering where it is. It can't hurt and it's better to have the evidence up-front than take the risk that they won't take anything at the interview. Good luck!

We were still asked for our marriage contract by some hotels that we stayed at for his interview. So I imagine you would need your marriage certificate & a translation. We plan to take our contract whenever we visit when we will need to stay in a hotel. They just want to verify you are married.

Middle East and North AfricaCan I go with my spouse to his interview? Morocco - Casablanca Consulate
I was with my husband in Morocco at the time of the interview. I had to wait at a coffee shop. He let them know I was there with him, and they actually asked for me to come and interviewed me. Read through the reviews. They don't always ask for the spouse to come in. Best of luck to you!

Inluv and ismael&blair make great points. If your wife has nothing/no one to come home to here in the states it is going to be difficult to transition the medical treatments here as well as showing the consulate that she can support you. Its great to hear that she has started treatment there, but I'm not sure putting so much energy into immigrating here with her condition is the wisest move. I wish her a speedie recovery.

We know your situation as you keep posting the same things over and over. It's going to take time even with expedites. You will have to request another one at the next stage as well. You need to send your wife ahead of you to start treatment.

Middle East and North AfricaWhat was it like to see him for the first time?

As much as I want to go visit him and his family, like yesterday.... I am hoping and praying, that I will see him sooner in the airport here.... He'll be so tired and worn, but so excited to see his new city and home.  I will have to figure out how to take pictures, carry bags and drive all at the same time. LOL  it's a little off topic, but the recent posts, brought it all back.  and being where we are in the journey (NVC) it just feels good to dream of what may be kicking.gif

My husband went to Dr Fihri. He remembers it costing between 1400-1600 dirhams for everything. Both the lab and place for the chest X-Ray were close together. They have him the results the same day to take to the embassy in a sealed envelope. He says the Dr was nice, but the office workers left much to be desired. Overall it was good.

You never know, they might get someone who cancels or post-pones one.... You could let them know you're interested, but I dont think I've seen anything about that being done on here. Do a search and see if there's anything here on VJ at other embassies. That might give you an idea if it's doable. Good luck

You're welcome. Layers are the key to staying warm in Wisconsin.... In case he hasn't mentioned that. It's amazingly green in Wisconsin. I had forgotten until we were there. Hubby kept getting quiet, saying he was filling his eyes with the green. Lol I'm sure you'll enjoy that part of Wisconsin. :)

Wisconsin is beautiful, I agree. That's where I'm from originally. We just went there to introduce hubby to the family. It's too cold in the winter. Lol.

He has not had the chance to go back to Morocco, yet. He's had trouble finding a decent company to work for. So we probably won't make it for another year or two.

We brought some fresh spices back with us last year. I knew he'd want them. Lol. We've also tossed around the idea of Germany as he has a brother there... Time will tell :)

You're welcome! I understand the freaking out completely. AP for women in Morocco is less frequently seen. I think you'll be fine. Enjoy your last bit of time there as much as you can. Hubby misses his family a lot, even though they talk most days. So relax a bit and really take things in. You'll be with your hubby soon enough. And the US will drive you crazy sometimes. Lol at least it does for my husband. Lol

Middle East and North Africapolice record or FBI record -morocco vs us
I used the FBI record, as I have lived in several states. it was relatively easy to obtain. However, as nomadnoor stated, it's best for you to check with your local offices for a complete list needed for your area. It does differ from city to city. The length of time differs, as well. It took us 9 or 10 days, but I recently saw someone on here take almost a month.

Good luck

http://www.visajourn...for-affidavits/

This thread is discussing affidavits, and a new requirement for them... needing a copy of birth cert, or passport biographical page.... I have seen on the site that we can submit more evidence with the NVC package, and that it does get forwarded. I know you don't send it with the affidavit of support.

Hope this helps.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMedical examination/ Job verification for marriage
They wanted the employment information (salary, employer, etc) from me last month when I got married in Fes. You should have your fiance ask his adoul about your situation and what you should bring. However, I would bring more than what is asked for, as some things get lost in translation...LOL I sent my papers early, as well, so they could be translated and they could pick-and-choose what they wanted. That way, if they needed something that I didn't send, I could bring it with me. Granted, the package was "lost" for about a week, but it did arrive unopened well before I left.

Good luck and Congrats! May this year be a good year for us all!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDo I need a lawyer to file for my CR1

You sure you want to do this? Sounds like she's shopping for a green card for her and her kids....

I know this sound like it. The advantage I had was her best friend live in the same city as I do. So before I really got to involved. I met with her and the husband. We talked about the whole thing and they assured me that this was not the case. It was unfortunate that this other person did this to her. This is why I came to Brazil for three months to also see if our feeling were real. She has been the one that wanted to take some time. I do welcome your comment and I hope this will not be how the consulate will view our application. That is why I was hoping someone may have gone through this. How they were able to be successful with there application for the Visa.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDo I need a lawyer to file for my CR1
I am getting married in three days here in Brazil January 15, 2013 to my girlfriend. I met her on line over a year ago and came here to Brazil in November 23, 2012. I have been here now for over a month. When we talked on line for a year we seem to fall in love. It also turned out that she had met someone a year earlier who did get a K1 visas for her and the two children. In October of 2011 he canceled it and sent her a email saying that he could not marry her. We met on line two month later and started to talk. The good thing was she had a girl friend that was married to a US person. We both live in the same town. So I was able to meet them and she also was able to talk to them about me. She tried to visit me in June on Tourist visa that was denied. The same time she was at the consulate she show them the letter that her K1 visa was canceled and they stamp it in her passport canceled. My question is should I get a lawyer to help with the CR1 since she was approve before. Does the fact she was approve make it easier for her now. Getting ready to start this process and want to do it the right way. I did ask a lawyer before and he said we should be married give us more rights. Anyone that may have been through this process in same situation. Thank for your time

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresGetting ready to start the process for CR-1
Here is my story I met my wife on the internet about a year ago December 2011. We talked and fell in love. I call a Lawyer for advice when she told me she had a K1 visa approved but the man canceled it in October 2011. She has a letter from the consulate that shows his name and that he canceled it. She never used it and took her passport to the consulate had it stamped canceled. She did try twice to get a visitor visa but was denied. The lawyer said the best option would for us to be married before I applied for a Visa. He said it would give us more rights. We met in November 2012 I am staying in her home in Brazil. It will be about three months and we were married in January 15, 2013. I am leaving February 17, 2013 for the US to my home and starting the Visa process. Here is my problem I asked her if she had any emails that showed he ended their relationship. She said she deleted them we maybe able to recover some still looking. If the only evidence is the email from the consulate of the canceled K1. What other things would you suggest we gather. I have plenty of photos of us meeting, marriage, celebration with family and trips. Have all the receipts and also gave her a credit card that we both are now on which she uses to buy groceries. I have the receipts when she uses the credit card. I have letter she send me and we have emails and I have transcript of our MSM conversation. This is when we met on the internet. I also will be getting a affidavit from the people who were witnesses at our wedding in Brazil. They also live in the same town as I do in the US. They are personal friends of her so I hope this will be enough to show them our relationship is real. Is there any other things I am missing that would help Thanks

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresTourist Visa /CR-1 restrictions

Vegas12, Are you saying she was denied a tourist visa or entry to the country?

My wife already has a tourist visa so thats not the problem in this case. My questions is dealing with her entering the US while we are preparing the I-130 packet and there after while we are waiting for the CR-1 to be processed on her tourist visa.

Any thoughts?

I though she was applying for the Tourist Visa. Now that she has one there maybe a path you might want to look at to get her a green card. I would consulate a lawyer for this. The US government just made a new ruling here is the website. It allows your wife to stay in the US while you do the application but she may have to go into a illegal status to qualify. Since this is a new process you may get processed faster. The new process start in March 2013 and if you have not file your I-130 you could maybe do this form I-601A Its worth taking a look at of course I would do this with consulting a lawyer first. This would be a interesting case if it works for you.

This website below is a list of question about this new form I-601A

I would say its a waste of time. My wife is Brazilian she has been denied twice. I did tell her not to try cause I knew it would not work. Now since Tourist Visa are good for Ten years. It will cost here about 500R and that not including her time, hotel and travel to Rio.

I married her January 15, 2013 I stayed with her in Brasil for three months. My question is I have a copy of the canceled K1 visa and also a letter from the consulate and the person who canceled it. Should I include this in the application. I had two difference opinions and I meeting a lawyer tomorrow. Thanks for anyone help.

I forget to put in the employment section that some time my wife. She will work with her sister business but is employed just for like a week or two. She is not employed as of now. The reason I mention this is she applied for a visitor Visa over a year ago. She said at that time she said she did work for her sister. She did not get the visa. I have a question how you show your income on the AOS. I will have three years of my taxes but the second year will be below the minimum. My most recently will show I am almost twice about the minimum It is guaranteed income. Will this be a problem or are they really just interested in your close year to the present date.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDatabase Error when Logging into Immigrant Visa Invoice Payment Center

The database error is different from the errors on the 2nd post.

It's when the payment portal is doing uploads or some other change as a whole, not a change to an individual.

My computer nerd hubby said it's when the servers need to chat with each other or need an info change of some sort, they can't have users on that could change data or some such thing. To me he sometimes sounds like Charlie Brown's teacher.

I had it a few times when we were watching for bills and it had no change to our individual files. Same with NYCbound.

I would suggest to try another browser I had trouble with some website like this and switching from Google Chrome to Firefox worked.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMarried Name

I am about to file an application for a CR-1. I married my wife in January here in the US and she is on a valid tourist visa now. She will be returning to Brazil at the end of May which is well within her allowed stay to await the immigration process. She would like to use my name, but she has not yet had the opportunity to change her name officially in Brazil since she has not been home yet. She intends to do that when she returns to Brazil. We would like to use her new married name (My last name) on the I-130 application and showing her maiden name as other names used (which matches her passport and other documents). Can we do that? She really wants to use my last name right away.

Also in proving a valid marriage of course we have the marriage certificate, but we do not have some of the other documents suggested like leases in joint name or bank accounts, etc. We are intending on using the sworn statements of many of our friends and associates. Should I try to add her name to my US bank account as a joint account holder? I am not sure that can be done if she does not have a social security number.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Bruce

I am married to a Brazilian woman just filed my I-130 and we used my last name on the application. My wife has not changed her passport yet in Brazil. I also have very little documents but put her on one of my credit cards. She got one and uses it in Brazil. I had the credit card company send me a letter showing her on the card. I also have statement showing it being used in Brazil. I came back to the US in February and filed the I-130 in March. I sent some of the statement of the credit card showing it being used when I was in the US. I do not know if this will be enough also sent affidavits from friends. I also sent over 300 photo all were in a proof sheet form. It hard to put her on document here in the US without a Social Security number.

Not sure, hopefully someone will correct me, but I would send it to verify that you were free to marry?

I also have that same question plus one more. My opinion would be since the application is for the beneficiary they would be the one that would have to supply the document. She has two girls and there is very little information of what is required for them. I would ask for someone who know to please answer in specifics. What document they send for each person. With the NOA2 approval do they give your a list of document for the IV DS-230

Is it true that CR1 goes to field offices or do you still have to do those months and months of waiting at CSC Also? Please advise guys. Btw we are only newly into NOA1 for K1 (1 mth)
