Middle East and North Africamena babies
Wow all the babies are so cute and so small I have forgotten how small they could be. It is interesting to hear how some of the babies names have came about. Me and my husband are at the point of thinking of some names and we seem to agree not to agree on any right now! Good luck with the new and upcoming babies.

This is interesting. Does anyone know about London, I read that as long as your visa was for the USA, a transit visa was not necessary coming from Morocco. Is this actuate?

Thanks!!!!

an understatement for sure they are VERY tough, some breeze thru that if all was known they (shouldnt) and those that tell the truth etc get turned down. Did anyone know tht since they hadnt really been looking at the proofs brought at interview lately they allowed some the visas when that person wasnt even talking or in contact with the petitioner any longer (true story)

Do you know anyone personally? This just isn't right.

I just want to make sure that I understand, that some people had no contact with the petitioner and were approved? Like in a military situation of the usc?

I agree with Sara on this......a pregnancy only shows the woman had sex. Does not show WHO she had sex with and usually does not constitute an expedited petition. I have known of many pregnant women that tried and ALL were denied. Wahrania's is the first that I know of in VJ's history that it did work for.

(samira..i soooo was not talking about you in my first sentence! lol so don't get your salty panties in a twist wink.gif )

The salt is just shaking out of them now! yes.gif Your right it only shows that you have had sex, with who well only a DNA test can prove that. Although I never did talk to NVC about this and I am just wondering if the letter I sent to USICS was really in my file that was forward or only in the other portion of the K3 file. Hm.....In February I had a dream that they had actually missed placed my request for both petitions and only had it in one. The lady suggested that if I had a doubt I can always request to review my complete case including any notes written in there. I did not think much about it at the time since I did get my request denied letter a week later (it was really fast).

Thanks for both of your suggestions good.gif

Samira, I agree it sounds not too bad. If they were denying or sending back you would know. wait and see what DOS says.

as for the pregnancy expedite, Wahrania I think you are the only case I have seen on this board in more than 4 years who that actually worked for. I have to assume its because of the complications from your asthma. From an immigration standpoint, the only thing a pregnancy during petitioning really proves is that the woman has been sexually active.

Plus Wahrania your request was sent to NVC, I sent mine to USCIS for the expedite. I have heard of several cases of a quick NVC process where physical or financial hardship is in play. If I was not excited about approval after 7 months and not wanting to go though the further process of NVC I would have just stuck with the IR/CR I and tried with them to expedite. In retrospect that might have been a better choice.

Did they know you were pregnant?

I had written a letter to UCIS in January about our pregnancy (in hopes for some type of expedition on approval plus it was almost 180 days) so it should have been in the file already with this request. Then again, so was my divorce degree from my previous marriage and she said she did not have that either. I wonder if they sent my file to Casa incomplete, hm....

Well after not sleeping the whole night and feeling awful, my husband finally got around calling me at about 8 am. He said he did not want to get me upset on what took place during his interview. First his interview was long almost 1 hour with the lady that he describes as semi-older Asian. The first 20 mins of the interview she did not understand how we meet using a dating site. She kept asking did you find her in a yahoo chat huh.gif my husband kept saying no I meet her and then we exchange skype information and MSN (I do not use yahoo). Then she kept asking about why we do not use yahoo to chat......The the questions changed to about when we meet and how long we have spent time with each other, then about my children. Then she said to him, O the divorce paper is not in the file (hmmm....how did it ever get approved without it) and he showed it to her and she just handed it back to him. Then the questions continued and the subject of who paid for his trip (our honeymoon) my husband said he did, but the lady insisted that I gave him money and asked how much did I send to him, my husband said nothing and plus here is the affidavit of support it indicates how much she makes and she can not afford to pay for me laughing.gif Then she went on and said okay (again she did not keep this either). Then the last question she asked him was what was the last movie I saw and he said he was confused and said Transformers. Now that was the last movie we saw together not that I saw on my own whistling.gif . My poor husband said he saw her deny others for tourist visas before him and he knew that she would be the person to interview him this made him so nervous. In the end she asked to keep our communication evidence he had (skype phone log, email, etc..) for review and said that she would call him when she is done reviewing the evidence. She said she could not give a time frame of how long. So we still do not know anything more then yesterday. Although I was hoping he just would have a paper that stated further name checks at least then we would know his visa would be issued soon. I am not even sure if he will require another interview? I wish I could of had better news today crying.gif

Did the consul know you are 23 weeks pregnant? If she didnt , or he didnt have a chance to tell her because its not in your paperwork, I would start calling your congressman and anyone you can to tell them to contact the embassy and let them know. You know what, he said at the end he was finally able to get out that I was pregnant plus he did have documentation from my OB with him. Also I do not think I said this earlier but when he left the communication she acted she did not want to see it all, she said to him o this is enough and he said, here are phone records, and emails (she was only interested in the chat part). She did say to him, o this is enough (without the phone record, which is our preferred method of communication!). I sent my senator the information earlier and talked to the person in his office that helps with immigration issues. I will see what transpires from this as well.

thanks for your help, plus I will contact the congress rep too

In addition, any child born to a Moroccan father in any country is officially Moroccan. If that child wants, at some point in the future, to go back to Morocco (even to visit), he or she must have a Morocco-approved name or will encounter problems upon entry.

What kind of problems? unsure.gif

I didnt write the post... but they are insinuating if you want the child to have Moroccan citizenship that they baby must have a moroccan name or they cant enter Morocco. Its that approved name in Morocco #######.. You havent heard that there is a list of approved Moroccan names? Girl study up...LOL

Study up? Hmmm, no thanks. wacko.gif

I thought you could answer the question for me if you already know.

A major problem around a child born to a Moroccan national not using an approved Moroccan name (lists are available on the Moroccan embassy website) is due to inheritance laws and dual citizenship. There are benefits for having a Moroccan citizenship, but are only useful if you live in Morocco. There is no denying the child to enter the country since the child will hold a passport from the country of birth (example, USA). If you guys are thinking about children in the future, it really is up to you to way the pros and cons of dual citizenship in Morocco. On a side note we checked into this and decided that if there was an issue of inheritances that our children wouldn't be entitled to (due to dual citizenship and name issue), we would just use the court system whistling.gif

I am sure this question has already been answered a hundred times - we just want to make sure we have everything perfect, so any advice is greatly appreciated.

On the instruction page it says this -

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT: Any evidence which will show that you and members of your family who will
accompany you are not likely to become public charges while in the United States. The enclosed information sheet, Optional Form 167, lists evidence which may be presented to meet this requirement of the law. Form I-134 should be used when an affidavit of support is to be submitted.

I thought I just needed the I-864?? - which my husband already has in Morocco. Does he really need to have the I-134 also? Has anyone before who applied for the CR/1 had to have the I-134?

Again, your help is appreciated! I am sure more questions will be coming. blush.gif

I hope everyone has a blessed day and a wonderful weekend!!!!!!! kicking.gif

I thought that the one you sent in already was the only one needed? We did the K3 so I am not sure about this as well. But it would be easy, just take the copy of the supporting documents of the I-864 fill the I-134. Its better to just send it to him just in case. Good luck!!!!!

This is my first time posting on this Forum but I wanted to thank you for all the information you have provided indirectly to me through all your messages. I am very grateful.

My Fiancee had his interview in Casablanca and it seems it went well. He was asked questions about how we met, when we got engaged, my work, where did I studied, when and where I was born, where I grow up, where does my family lives, my parents names, if I had siblings and their names, where we visit while I was in Morocco, languages he spoke, in what language we communicate, if we have been married before, if we wanted to have children, how many children, if I travel a lot and what other countries I have visited.

He showed pictures and was asked to explain who was in the pictures and where / when they were taken. He also left emails, messenger chats and phone records.

At the end, he was asked for his passport and they told him they will call him to pick it up. He was told it could take 2 days to 2 months to get his passport back.

That's all I know for now. I hope is good news and hope the interview information is helpful.

C

Congratulations!!!! Soon you will be together.

Middle East and North AfricaTransit visa in hand and ticket purchased
QUOTE (wahrania @ May 20 2008, 11:21 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
After waiting so much time for the damn French embassy to hand over the transit visa, my husband finally has it in hand. He bought his ticket to paris today, will see his mom for the first time in 5 or 6 years on the way over( so waiting for me for almost 2 months after he got the visa turned out to be worth it!!!!!!!!!!) The stupid French embassy made him wait almost a month for an interview alone for a transit visa then walked around the embassy with his passport showing everyone his american visa. They all wanted to know ( the employees there) how hard it was for him to get. I just wondered why they made him wait a month for an appointment and a week for a transit visa when he is already a cr1 visa holder. I guess they had to contact the American embassy to see if its real

Anyway, my asthma has been in full force..nebulising again so needless to say, I need him here and all of this #### over with to say the least

this just proves the transit visa is possible on the way here ( I am sure this would apply to Moroccans wanting to visit family in France on the way here or other Algerians or Tunisians or whatever in Europe who want to stop off) But its a hell of a wait adding time to an already miserable wait

CHEERS

This is wonderful news I am so happy for you. I was wondering why it was taking so long. But for them to contact the American embassy is on the ridiculous side? I know they felt foolish afterwards if that was the case. When will he arrive home? I would not worry much about cleaning your pregnant and he knows this so if he expects to come home to a glorified dust free/spot free home well good luck with that one!!!!

Take Care
