Just found out it's gonna cost 1000 plus dollars to fly my cat home. Don't think there's any way we can afford that so we're gonna have to get rid of him. I'm so tired of things not working out the way we want them to. I can't stop crying. This is all so stressful. I'm so tired...

UGH! :( That is outrageous!! You can't have him be your "carry on" like so many people do? I'm sure you have checked it out, I'm just trying to think of anything. I would be devastated if I had to give up one of my kitties. They are very much my babies. I'm so sorry!

It is very stressful. John and I had such a mixed visit over Christmas - a mix of good and bad and not much down time for ourselves. I'm just ready to be with him, in each others arms, wake up next to him every morning. I understand the "why" of this whole process, it just doesn't make it any easier.

HUGS to you!

I know touches are not necessarily indicative of anything but where do you check on touches?

You find if your case has been "touched" by the last date it was updated through the USCIS site. Log in to your case at the check my case status and then sign into my account, and the "front page" of your portfolio will show the last updated date for your case. Each time it changes, that is considered a touch.

Who is this Igor I've seen on several posts, does he have a link?

You will find Igor's list here http://www.visajourn...filers.php?cfl= :)

This is my first post to the boards, although I've been reading for a while.

I filed on Oct 1.

I got my approved NOA2 in the mail today!

May good news come soon to all my fellow October filers!

YAY! Congrats and welcome!!!! :)

Ok, Leenie, I thought it was some sort of weird particular to NVC information I should know before I called. I will definitely wait a few days before calling. Since my approval was emailed to me at 8:15 p.m. I can hardly imagine that it went on in Jan. 8's mail. It will probably go out on Monday and once I have the NOA2 hardcopy in my hand I will call the NVC. My fiance' was so shocked that we were approved on Friday night that he called back twice. "So this isn't like a pre-approval. They really approved us. We don't have to send any more evidence that we met and intend to marry." I told him, "Nope." We were both in tears from the happiness of it all by the end of the second phone call because it was starting to sink in that that process is really moving forward!

You guys are so cute :)

Sheesh! I'm away from my computer for a few days, and look what happnes!!! I'm soooooo happy for all of you I'm crying. I'm not even kidding! Congrats!!! Our approval dates have been pushed back, but I'm trying to just ignore that and pay attention to what's happening with everyone else. I turned my mobile alerts on for the USCIS web site because I'm not at home to check my email or VJ as often as I would like, so now I'll get it on my phone. I know we still have a while cause we didn't file till the 30th of October, and there's only 2 couple below us on Igor's list, but I'm trying to be patient. Our NOA2 will be very bitter sweet for us because even tho we're one step closer, I know it could still be up to 10 months before we're together for good. But it'll still be amazing!

I'm still trying to figure out how to get my cat back into the states with me from Belfast when I go visit my fiance in March. Continental only has information about domestic US flights, and nothing about international ones. Ugh! But in other good news, the price of my ticket went down by almost 150 dollars! Woo Hoo!!!!

Congrats again everyone!!!!

It has been a very exciting week, that's for sure! And I'm sure that I saw something about getting a cat to the States recently here in VJ. Maybe it was from Russia? I'll try to find it if you would like?

I GOT MY NOA2!

Okay, I am addicted to checking my email. My fiance hung up with me at 8:41 p.m. I turned on my cell phone to pick up my email messages just in case there was an update. I tried to call him back but he took the phone off the hook so he could sleep, I think, since it drops me into his voice mail right away. He will get some surprised messages tomorrow morning before he calls me back.

THERE WAS! AT 8:15 p.m. my notice of approval of my I-129F was sent out. That was about 5 hours after the "touch" I had. I am so excited but man am I tired. Shoveling wasn't too bad but it at least kept me from bouncing off the walls at home.

I can't wait to know that my package clears the NVC and then goes on to the consulate in Montreal! GOD is SO GOOD!

Oh, Carla! John and I are SO excited for you!!! Congratulations!! BIG HUGS!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsOctober 2009 K-1 Visa filers

Got the email now! Thank goodness it says approved, because I just realized on the USCIS website that "post-decision activity" can mean the decision was to reject the petition.

Sorry Beth & John - I didn't mean to reply to you, but was so excited I pressed Reply on your post accidentally.

No worries! I'm just excited for all the approvals today! I"m sitting on this forum, if you can't tell. Also waiting for my friend in real life, lilacvioletiris, to come back and say she got her email/text/update on the USCIS site :)

Hi guys,

This morning I woke up to a SMS message on my phone. It said your case xxxxxx has been updated. I could not wait to jump on my email, sure enough there was also an email message that said: We have approved your petition! NOA2 !! I'm so excited! I most definitely did not expect it so soon. I was expecting around February some time to get this.

The confusing part was when I checked online, my status went straight to Post decision activities. I thought that it would go through the previous few steps first. I guess that "interview" does not refer to the interview at the consulate as the status jumped through it.

Anyway just wanted to share this news. For those who filed in October, yours is probably coming soon! Good luck!

Bill

Woo hoo! Congrats!

Ok, this could just be a strange coincidence, BUT ... at my office, I have caller ID. Received a phone call from a number I didn't recognize, no name listed, answered it, identifying my workplace and my name and the caller disconnected the call. I immediately went to whitepages.com and did a reverse number lookup, which found the number and stated it is an unlisted number from Orange, California. Tried to call the number back and it rang, was silent for a while, and then gave me a fast busy signal (obviously not a number taking incoming calls). This was strange to me, because I know no one from that area.... so google searched it when I got home. Orange, CA just happens to be kinda close to ... wait for it, wait for it .... Laguna Niguel. Is it possible that they (USCIS) would call my office to confirm or check my employment? Just kinda weird ... but I'll take it!

I'm sorry, I was quite off on my memory of the wording. When you open the trends and volumes page, you'll see the legends for the graph on the left side of the graph (google USCIS trends and volumes to find the page directly). From bottom to top is receipts, completions, awaiting customer data (RFEs), "pending but unripe, adjutication deferred", and "pre-adjudicated, awaiting visa number", and "all other pending"

As you probably all figured out by now adjudication is NOA2.

I remember being in the "nothing is happening!!" time freeze zone that you are in now. I actually made a post in the Sept. CSC filings that if we weren't approved by March I'm just moving there, because I'm like you all are now, frustrated that nothing is seemingly happening and going out of my mind waiting. 1-2 weeks later there's approval after approval after approval in our thread.

Just give it a LITTLE more time, you're almost there!!

And DON'T take out your frustration on your fiance! You are both frustrated beyond belief by this time and probably starting to squabble, don't do it. You're almost done, just be patient for a short time and you'll see a LOT of approvals falling from the sky.

Found it! Thanks a million! Great graph and great information :)

Just to toss a little of what I saw last month out there for you guys:

Once we (Sept. CSC filers) started seeing a few approvals, there seemed to be a pause but then an avalanche of approvals shortly after the pause.

What I think happens, if you've looked at the "trends and volume" page on the USCIS website you'll see "approved but not at maturity" or some such wording. I think a lot of the applications are already approved and waiting for a stamp and processing to get them out the door. I'm not sure, but they seem to clean up older petitions for a while when transitioning months. I noticed it when the August filers started getting approved, then when the September filers started getting approved. There's a few approvals, then a long pause (but a few RFEs and older files approved), then a LOT of approvals within a couple of weeks.

Hopefully it's soon.

Good luck and best wishes of no RFEs.

Thanks Dain! That was sure nice of you to direct us to the trends and volumes page. I can't see exactly what you are referring to, however I was able to see the National Processing graphs. Nothing about "approved but not at maturity" or something like that. You wouldn't happen to have a link would you?

Good luck to you and Vicky on a successful interview coming up here very quickly! Will be looking forward to seeing that "Visa in Hand" post from you guys! :)

We met in person last January 6, and today was our "first anniversary." Wow, was I happy to see the on-line second NOA show up, approved Jan 5. It was a great anniversary gift from USCIS!!! But I sure wish the predicted wait to final visa wasn't another 70+ days for Brazilians. I am sure everyone on here feels like me, it is very frustrating waiting on someone to approve your being together when that is the most important thing you want.

Congrats on your NOA2 and Happy Anniversary! :)

I feel ya Jessica, I really do. This whole process is very stressful on top of being apart from the one that we love so dearly. John and I are looking to find a house on top of all of this "other stuff" ... I too have no idea how we are going to afford a big wedding. We've already decided that we will have a civil wedding to get the ball rolling on the EAD, etc ... I just honestly have no idea how we are going to do the rest. ::sigh::

I don't know how people get NOA2s on new year's eve, a day on which all logic would tell me CSC is closed, but I'll take it! Might be a computer delay thing! That's really awesome news, especially considering their NOA1 was October 8th, and mine was October 9th. My goodness!!!

I read in another thread somewhere along the lines that CSC was going to be open every day this past week except Jan 1st ... so "someone" was working! :) Agree, I'll take it!

My SO will be here next Tuesday and is staying for 3 glorious weeks kicking.gif kicking.gif

Does feel kind of gloomy around here; winter storm dropped it's wrath on my neck of the woods yesterday, which made the morning commute treacherous to say the least. Lost a shoe somewhere between my driveway, my daughters school and my office ... SO I am wearing my snow boots all day. Needless to say, it's been a great day already ... HA! no0pb.gif sad.gif huh.gif

Have you guys been keeping up with the September CSC filers? There were two more approved just recently, so the faster September gets complete, the faster they will get to us October folks!

Chin up everyone! The NOA2's will start coming ... eventually smile.gif Not that I am counting or anything blush.gif , but have written the number of days on my calendar at work since our NOA1 was received ... 49 days today. I figure, based on estimates, we are past the halfway point of waiting. I've seen some approved in 80-ish days ... that would be nice!

Need some entertainment? Read the "Today's Active Topics" threads ... there is always some kind of soap opera type discussion going on there. I get a giggle every day out of some of the threads wink.gif

I just found this list. My fiance' and I had our NOA1 on Oct. 15 (coincidently his birthday!) and I had the hard copy a week later or so. We have set "a date to get married" even going so far as to "reserve the church" where I attend but explaining to the church people that it may have to change. I am just hoping that we have our petition approval by March 15, 2010 and an interview for the visa at the Ottawa Canada Consulate by June 15, 2010 so we can be married on July 11, 2010! The forecast for our petition approval looks to be mid January and that is more than good.

So about the expiration dates on the petition approval. It says it is good for four months. Does that mean the consulate has four months to deal with us? Once we have the visa from the consulate, how long is the visa good for? My fiance' wants to work up to a week or so before our wedding and then move to the U.S. I know we have to get married within 90 days and WE WILL once he gets to the states. Just curious as we try to plan a specific wedding day without knowing the specific approval date or interview date.

Welcome Carla smile.gif So glad to "see" you here!

I'm late sounding off in this group - but hello fellow October 2009 filers. I'm a US citizen, my fiancee is a UK citizen and currently visiting me on the visa waiver progamme. When he goes back to the UK, he's going to stay there until the interview rather than make another visit to the States. I read too many scary stories about people getting turned away for a visit. Also, I wasn't able to determine if you get to pick your interview day or not, but if you don't then his being in the UK will mean we won't need an expensive last-minute flight.

Our NOA1 was sent from CSC on October 13, so like you are waiting for now.

How and where do you look to see if your case has been touched??? I've confused...

When you log in to the USCIS website, if you have created an account that is (highly recommended so you can get email and/or text notifications if there is any action on your case), it is on the page My Case Status then it will take you to another page called "My Portfolio". From that page, you will see all the cases that you added to your portfolio (if you haven't done so, do it smile.gif ) , you will see the date your case was last updated.

I hope that helps and wasn't terribly confusing!

Mine was touched on 10/30/09 ... probably being moved to someone elses desk wink.gif

things have slowed up over on the vermont side too, just one got an approval yesterday, and my timeline went backwards by 14 days or so, the party seems to be over

change that to 19 days behind schedule, it's really moving fast.... in reverse. Keeping an eye on the timeline is really depressing, think it's better to ignore.

I agree completely. Dwelling on the timeline just serves to drive most people up a wall. Better that we all find something to keep our minds off of the fact that we're waiting!

That being said, what do you guys do to keep occupied during this crazy waiting period?

I find that my job is a wonderful distraction! Also, James and I have a nightly routine of Skype chatting when I get home from work, and lately we've taken to watching Japanese dramas together. All of this leaves me very little time to worry, and I feel a bit better smile.gif

What do I do to keep occupied?? .... keep checking the VJ web site and the USCIS website every 10 minutes wacko.gif ! LOL! No just kidding ... there is plenty to keep me occupied (work, Christmas planning, talking to my love, kids, work, kids, oh, and did I mention work and kids?!) and I'm having fun planning a wedding without a set wedding date!

Ugh, I don't have a lot to keep my occupied. I'm a lifeguard at a pool that is empty for most of the day, so I do a lot of reading, but I read a lot of romance novels, so that just makes me sad. We talk everyday on Skype, but by the time I get home from work, he's already had a really long day, and he usually falls asleep while we're talking and then goes to bed. I try not to check the timelines unless there's an update on here cause it just gets me depressed. I'd be planning a wedding, but with no date and no money, it's virtually impossible. I'm uber down right now, and am not really sure how to pick myself up...
Sorry to be such a downer, but life's pretty damn hard right now.

Hey Jessica! Don't worry about being a downer ... I'm sure we all have those days. I've had my fair share, and just to talk with my guy for a few minutes can really turn the day around for me so quickly. We also have a time difference, so when I am up and getting ready for work, he is usually asleep and I have to wake him up OR he has stayed away to say good bye to me (isn't he the best!) ... THEN when I get home from work, he is usually leaving for work so we DO get time together but abbreviated (he works mostly evenings).

Soo... you like romance novels huh? Have you read the Twilight series? I also can recommend some other REALLY good reads, ones that have a bit of romance in them, but enough to keep you entertained and not missing your guy too terribly much with each and every word if you are interested!

HANG IN THERE! Our NOA2's will come in time smile.gif

so jealous with the vsc october filers - they are getting their noa2s!
happy for them but i could get happier if csc speeds up! happy.gif

things have slowed up over on the vermont side too, just one got an approval yesterday, and my timeline went backwards by 14 days or so, the party seems to be over

change that to 19 days behind schedule, it's really moving fast.... in reverse. Keeping an eye on the timeline is really depressing, think it's better to ignore.

I agree completely. Dwelling on the timeline just serves to drive most people up a wall. Better that we all find something to keep our minds off of the fact that we're waiting!

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between January 26, 2010 and February 2, 2010*.

A 14 day change for the worse!! Ugh ... that wasn't a very fun thing to find this morning. And it will probably just get worse with the impending holidays. crying.gif
