IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - April 2014	Talked to Ken at NVC, what a nice guy he told me our package arrived today at NVC wooooooooooooooooooo hooooooooooooooooo one little step but it feels so good.   So approved from USCIS on April 8 Th 2014 and arrived at NVC April 26 Th 2014.    Yes indeed!  Oh, oh and yes he said to wait 30 days for our case number (CC)  and invoice number (IIV).  indeed, one step in the right direction!!!!!! I really appreciate it! The good news is: the issue was fixed shortly after I sent the email. Not sure if it the email that did it or just that it was time for it! But the fee showed PAID shortly and I was able to fill out the DS260. Salam, You don't send I-864 until you pay AoS fees first. I-864 is the Affidavit of Support (AoS) and you need to pay the 88$ AoS fee before you send it. I literally just screamed and did a cartwheel at work!   CASE COMPLETE!!!!!!!   I emailed on Wednesday and put it to the attention of the DR and requested an immediate review of both cases for their #######-up of the civil documents. I was waiting for my wife's PCC and court certificate in the mail. It was sent last week Wednesday from Morocco. Yesterday, I was at the mail box waiting (had a nutch it'll get it yesterday). I almost snatched off the mail-man's hand! It was really funny and drove like a maniac to the post office. Mad copies and forgot the original in the copy machine. But thank God for double checking. Found out when I was ready to close the package. The clercks in the post office were laughing at me. Missed the 05:00 PM mark for next day delivery but still, the package will make it today before noon to the NVC building. Hope the other one is ready later today Aos sent on 4/21 arrived on 4/22 Have not called to confirm giving them some time. Waiting on hubby police report to send civil docs. Hopefuly in the next week. Feel good about the movment. Its long over due!!!   Giving me hope on my IV fee also. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - April 2014	etrangais,   If the system worked like it was supposed to, your bank would have sent a return "transaction" to the ACH on 22-Apr.  The ACH would have sent the information back to NVC the evening of 22-Apr - which was probably 23-Apr by the time it arrived.  NVC would have run its batch program the night of 23-Apr, which would have meant that it should have shown up as PAID on 24-Apr, if things were working properly.   If the ACH batch was botched somehow, the ACH would have to resend the batch (meaning someone at NVC would have had to catch the problem and report it!).  I'm betting there was either a transmission problem (meaning NVC had trouble receiving the transmission), or NVC has a programming problem (meaning NVC cannot apply the individual data to each case).   It might actually change today - but it's good that you have your banking debit record to prove that it was sent back!   Sukie   I hope who ever gets my email from NVC understands this and does not take a month to figure it out!!	etrangais	Male	Morocco	2014-04-25 08:35:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - April 2014	For those of you who are waiting on the PAID status - here is an explanation of what happens with your payment - and why it might be delayed...   1.  When you fill out your payment form, you give them your bank number and your account. 2.  NVC collects all your payment information and formats it into a standard "transaction" - essentially a "go to this bank and take out this money" 3.  NVC (most likely) sends these transactions in a "batch" or, a collection of similar transactions.  These batches probably are transmitted several times per day - but not on a one-on-one basis (again, most likely). 4.  The "batches" are transmitted to the Automated Clearing House (ACH).  Think of it as central warehouse where ALL transactions from ALL banks, ATMs, companies, and individuals end up on a daily basis.  The ACH sorts the transactions by the bank number, creates a "batch" of all the transactions, and then, at some point during the night, sends the batches to the respective financial organization. 5.  The banks do their thing - debiting your account, and creating a return "transaction" that goes back to the ACH.  This batch will have both successful and non-successful transfer information. 6.  The ACH then sorts the transactions again - this time by recipient (in our case, NVC), and sends a batch transaction, with all the individual information, back to NVC. 7.  NVC then has to apply all those transactions to our individual accounts so that their system has us marked as "PAID".   If NVC has a problem in their system where they cannot receive the batch from the ACH, OR, they cannot apply the individual transaction data to each account, there will, most likely, be a 24-hour delay.  The transaction data program is probably only run once a night (after ACH sends the data back).  If that program blows up, then it has to be run the NEXT night.  And, they will have to run the batches in date order - which might delay stuff down the line.  If they have two days' worth of transactions, they'll try to catch up by running the "apply" program twice in one night.  IF they have enough time before the online systems have to come back up.   If NVC uses satellite reception (instead of, say, fiber optic cable), then the high winds we've had over the past two days might have meant that they didn't get the WHOLE batch data from the ACH.  The "batch" has a header and a footer (the first transaction is a summary, and the last transaction is a summary - they have to receive both of these transactions for the batch to be complete).   I don't know what is REALLY going on at NVC.  But this is an explanation of how the banking system works for automated transactions like our payments.   Sukie, former bank programmer   Thank you very much for the valuable information Sukie. It should be available for you today or Monday. Send the email off anyway just in case it stays in process, but it probably will take a month for them to respond to your email. or call back and ask to speak to a supervisor   I'm hoping the delay is normal and will not go beyond today or Monday. They asked me to send an email to NVCInquiry@state.gov explaining the issue and attach a screen shot of my bank transaction to show the fee cleared my account. I was like seriously? an email to NVCInquiry@state.gov will take a month to be responded to. The lady was like no, it should be quick and she laughed. I have a bad feeling about this. I swear its their way of controlling the workload.      I have to say... it is much better than the exhausting wait at the USCIS. At least here you can log in and actually see something.  You don't feel like you're being lied to everytime you call and talk to tier 2.   The answers seem to be more consistent here.   Maybe the 30 day answer is not what we want to hear, but at least it doesn't go back and forth from 30 to 60 to 45 days.      This whole process stinks...    Not looking forward to the waiver process. Its back at the good ol' NSC.  I wonder what I have have to do  to try and get an expedite? Do I have to sell my soul to the devil?     I just hope since they changed the regular processing times back to 5 months... just maybe they will change the waivers back to 4 months instead of 8 months. ( or process the I-601 waivers before the I-601a waivers )    I will be lost without everyone on this thread....      Is your husband gonna be able to come to the US after the approval at the visa interview? or do you have to wait for the waiver before he can actually come to the US?	etrangais	Male	Morocco	2014-04-24 12:39:00

All those people that don't know about VJ are just freaking out and clogging up NVC phone lines    I think they are doing this in purpose! I paid IV fees on 21-Apr and it still shows IN PROCESS. I can't access DS260 yet. I think they are backlogged again and just decided to stop the process for sometime to allow them to catch up and then it will pick up again.
