IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	I'll ask here since I didn't get a response at the Interviews thread:   Is the original I-797 (NOA2) required for the Consular Interview?   Kuwait's postal service is a bottomless pit. Last piece of mail I received was in December last year (a formal job offer that expired the previous September !!!).   The NOA2 is only a notice. You might only need it if the NVC does not receive your petition. I called today and was told it is still in admin. processing     15 business days so far for the I-130. Now, if you applied in September 2013, your petitions was with USCIS and then it was approved sometime in APril 2014. It was then sent to NVC. I have been fighting with my spouse a lot lately and all this stress is not helping. I feel like our marriage is falling apart with this distance and it really hasn't even started. I feel your pain. All this process at USCIS and NVC turned lots of marriages into a joke, especially newly wed couples. I went through rough times with my wife also. I told her when we got married that the process would take 5 months, not knowing about the USCIS backlog. July 1st will be our first anniversary and her appointment is July 9th. I've been using the nickname "etrangais" since 2000 when I first came to the USA. I misspelled the word "etranger" which is French for 'alien" as USCIS describes immigrants. It is just prolonging an already impossibly stressful situation We so want to get the children into school 1st September but unless NVC moves itself that isn't going to happen!! I wonder when they will actually invoice me....   Few ppl said it should change in couple hours but it hasnt changed yet..   I know there is nothing to worry, as few people already mentioned thats OK as stated in wiki and i even called to confirm. But still annoys me to see that red boxed message!!! it took me a week from case # assigned to be able to pay AoS fee and fill out DS261. If they delay the invoicing, then the barcode sheets can't be printed and packages can't be sent.     Just my observation lately.    Seems they are backlogged since the I-130's are being processed in 5  months  now. They can't keep up.     The more I read and think about this, the more I get convinced with your theory. It makes perfect sense: they can't review it if they don't have it. And if they don't have, it is not going to mess up their processing times average. What a twisted way to deal with things! Probably wait till friday night to call and see if theres any good news.   You make perfect sense. Keep watching the progress and then when you see that they got to the 8th of May mail, give them a call. When I was waiting for CC, I used to call 2 or 3 times a day. And then how long from DS261 to when the IV fees are generated?     In my case, it took a week after case # was assigned for AoS fee and DS261 to be available. Yes, I was posting form my cell.   I just heard someone say that after the AOS fee is paid, it is now taking upto 3 weeks for the IV fees to be generated?
