IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	Hi! I need help figuring out what's the status of our case. (Our lawyers submitted things out of order, and messed up with my understanding of the process). Anyway, my husband called today and said: 1) "AOS has been assessed and accepted, no date listed but it would have been before the last mailing we got which was April 28." Yeah! 2) "Looks like civil documents arrived April 14, but he can only tell me they received mail that day, not what was in the mail." Our DS260 was submitted on May 1. So... Looks like our IV packet hasn't been scanned yet. If so, our 20-30 days to case complete or checklist hasn't started ticking yet. Am I reading this correctly? If so, when could we expect the packet to be scanned? How can we estimate when we'll have a case complete/ checklist? Thank you so much   If they can see that they received mail from you it means it has been scanned into the system. Anything I can possibly preempt if I can tell they'll have a problem with it? I really hope we don't get any and literally quadruple checked all the paperwork and made sure I had N/A or None in the AOS, which seems to be a big reason for checklists from what I've read.    a checklist could be for insufficient information or something they need that you did not send, blank space left for a required information, ...   And it could be sor a missing form even if you are 1000000000% sure you sent it with the package. it could be also for a missing form that does not apply to your country but the reviewer does not know.   Basically, they could issue a checklist for anything and everything.   Good luck	etrangais	Male	Morocco	2014-05-12 13:05:00

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	So here is my Monday morning update.. ( I couldn't wait to call...) Cindy picked up .. I asked for an update, she said they are just waiting for the birth cert and there is mail that has not been reviewed... as I was saying I didn't expect any news she said  WAIT.. there is a note in the file dated May 12th ( today)  it says they are waiting for birth cert .. they have the translation but no Birth cert..  and Cindy said she is confused because they were reviewing it today but the mail is still showing NOT REVIEWED.. so why did they put a note in the file  for the birth cert without looking at the mail... SOOOO she said she would send that over to them to review right now.   I asked if it would be reviewed today and of course she said she can't guarantee   but she laughed as I told her she is soooo AWESOME !!!     Now,  If my mechanic would just call to tell me I don't need a new ignition... that it was just a loose part... I'd be happy !! ( very doubtful  but I can dream)    My husband is at the mechanics in Costa Rica with his car.  He only needs a  $12 repair for inspection... so finally good things are happening.    I have feeling it is going to be a wonderful day!!!!!!!!	etrangais	Male	Morocco	2014-05-12 11:16:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	Finally got my case # and invoice!!!they told me today that they entered in the system May 9th..yayyyy !!!1 step closer to interview !!   My advise to you is have all your AoS and IV docs ready to go and send them in as soon as you pay the fee and print the bar code cover sheet. Just wanted to check-in and find out how you know when you have reached case complete at NVC? Do you receive an email saying so, or is it a case of the oh-so-familiar calling up of NVC?   Thanks in advance for any help/advice.   you will eventually get an email, but after 5 days to a week after actual Case Complete. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	hi guyz please reply,    i have two question regarding AOS package.   1-Yesterday my wife has resubmitted the AOS checklist including her 2013 tax returns,job letter and her uncle (cosponsor) 2013 tax returns papers because she was missed to submit the 2013 tax returns in NVC. my wife income is around 10,000 $ per anum and her uncle income is 20,000$ per anum, and the accumulative income of both of them are around 30,000$ per anum.so it would be enough for one person sponsor?   2.Secondly, she is going to resubmit the AOS package agaisn ,then how much days the NVC take to accept the package, it would be normal 20-25 days or less?? Please advice   Usman Ali   1- it should be enough IF the total house hold of your uncle and your wife matches the salary requirements. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	Guys quick question... would you recommend using a immigration lawyer during the NVC stage or is it pretty straight forward and easy.  reason I am asking is during the I-130 stage, we used a lawyer and I felt it could have been easily handled by myself.. thanks for your thoughts!   Most of us here don't use lawyers unless you have a complicated case (waiver or other issues). If your case is simple, it'll be faster to do it yourself. Friends in VJ will guide and help you if you need help throughout the process. It very hard for our wives especially they just want us to be together. Most important thing is the 2 of you, be there for her anybody else can go to hell. Insha?Allah you will be together soon and you would laugh about this process and how it drove you insane. You are almost there, case complete will come soon then the interview and boom here she is next to you. I myself can?t believe it?s been 3 months since I filled it seems like time is moving fast yet so slow. I just hope to god that our case wii be done by august so I can go and  bring her with me. As I mentioned before I go home every 3 to 4 months I can?t stay away from her. On a final thought you know how our women thinks and they are not immune from outside influences, be strong. You can see the light at the end of the tunnel.   I know my wife is a nice woman. what she does not want to believe is that people who tell her all the bs are actually jealous of her. 10 months so far after we got married. Lots of people don't want to see her move to the USA. When I click on the link on the blue "PAY" link on the summary page, it brings me to the Invoice page. But there's no box to check next to the IV fee or anyhing. Is it that I have to wait for some sort of billing email to be sent to me? Or is this just a system error and I should try again. It is being invoiced. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	I get tired and I'm even with my husband, so I feel for you and everyone else! And when we started out process USCIS told us we'd have NOA2 within 60 days. Well, it took them 10 months, which is a bit more than 60 days...   When we moved to Finland it took 2 months to get the residence permit and we waited for it in Finland so we didn't have to be apart at all. And it cost half as much. That is how immigration should work!   My sister moved to Finland last year to join her husband. They live in Espoon Keskus. The process was not as hard or as long as USCIS/NVC. If the checklist is for all IV supporting docs, then yes, the AoS packet has been accepted.   But if the checklist has specific items on it, then it might not be false.   This is my false checklist:   ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ______CORRESPONDENCE INSTRUCTIONS:_________________________________ When responding to the National Visa Center, please include the bar code sheet that came with this letter. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	Good morning VJ family!!!!!!!! I know most of us (if not all of us) hate the weekends right now! It feels that teh weekend is a waste of time. I've never been so happy so Monday come as fast as possible. I so hate the weekends that I volunteered to work Saturdays until my wife gets here. I just want to stay busy and get myself to think about other things than calling NVC or watching other people's progress to compare with my timeline. My wife is getting tired of all this, I don't blame her. She does not understand the process. Her entourage (family and friends) are killing her with stupid questions and comments. Couple of weeks ago, one of her cousins joined her husband in France with a visa (residency card), everybody became immigration experts and started talking to her about how if I really wanted her we I could've got this done bla bla bla, be careful, he is just playing you bla bla bla, may be he is married in the USA and just wants you here when he visits bla bla bla, all kind of nasty stuff.   Anyway, I try my best to talk to her and she understands what's going on and she trusts me, but from time to time she cracks down, I don't blame her at all. I even told that if I was on her shoes, I would thing the same thing.   Anyway, we got married on July 1st 2013 and our priority date is July 17 2013, 2 days after I got back to the USA.   I know lots of us are going through similar situations. Personally, I believe one thing: this process will make our relationship stronger, even if sometimes it gets hard due to unforseen circumstances.   Good luck to all. I started jogging 7 weeks ago and that's actually been a great stress reducer for me!   my meniscus is fine now but I found out after the surgery that I have a partially torn ACL.   It bothers me from time to time and surgery is not an option unless it is completely torn. It might take weeks before you get anything. I doubt you will be checklisted if there is no gaps in the dates and if the information makes sense. To correct it, I guess you'll have to let them know during the interview. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	so, I swear I read somewhere that all documents NOT in english must be translated.    So my husband goes for his police certificate after the embassy receives our file. Per NVC a few minutes ago, the police certificate does not need to be translated because Spanish is the official language in Costa Rica.    That makes it quicker for us . .  and when I sent the new birth certificate, NVC told me I didn't need to get it translated.  really?     Consistency would be such a bonus though   I hate this waiting game     On a good note, they are still scheduling for June .. sounds good to me !!   Good morning. It used to be that I'd call and get through in 15 min on average. 20 min was a bad day, 30 min was nearly unheard of. But from what you guys say 30-45 min is pretty standard now. That really stinks.   I checked both and attached transcripts for 2011, 2012, 2013. AOS accepted with no issues   Why are you calling NVC? Don't you have your interview date scheduled already? Really don't need one at NVC!    It just makes sense that NVC gets backlogged due to the USCIS backlog on the second half of 2013. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	Your welcome, I wonder if it's the same for Egypt I also heard it's only valid for 3 months but that the US Embassy has that rule.   Wonder how to check this.   hummmmmm I know for Morocco the police certificate has a 3-month expiry printed on it. It shows the issue date and expiration date (3 months). NVC requires us to have a non-expired police certificate sent to NVC. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	I'll ask here since I didn't get a response at the Interviews thread:   Is the original I-797 (NOA2) required for the Consular Interview?   Kuwait's postal service is a bottomless pit. Last piece of mail I received was in December last year (a formal job offer that expired the previous September !!!).   The NOA2 is only a notice. You might only need it if the NVC does not receive your petition.
