IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWhat is the cover page

A cover page is a front page that lists the contents in the same order that they are in so that whoever opens the package knows what is in it.  See link:

http://www.visajourn..._for_I-129F.doc

But you will have to make changes to it for whatever you are using it for.

PhilippinesHOW FAR AHEAD IS THE DATE FOR THE INTERVIEW?

It depends on the consulate and how they go about scheduling interviews.  For the Mexican consulate you can't see the calendar until you go to their website and pay the fee.  Once the payment is confirmed, you can see the calendar and pick whatever works for the beneficiary, my fiance had the option to pick from 3 dates that were about 1 1/2 month away.

How about I-693? Because I had medical in the Philippines, do I need to fill out the form?

You have to have a medical exam (I-693) done by a Civil Surgeon.  They will give it to you in a sealed envelope and you have to include that with the AOS packet

well, we only lived together for 1 month after getting married then i came back here in the states.. that's what i put down for that question..

as for evidences, just show your marriage certificate/license, marriage pics, any other pics of you together with other family members. i even sent in my wedding invitation. i also sent in a copy of my passport showing how many times i've visited him and the stamp of our honeymoon cruise: we went to singapore, malaysia, and thailand. sent it a couple pagees of my cell phone bill showing texts and numbers and that is about it, i think. can't remember! but you really won't have any other evidence of marriage since you will not be living together for that long..

by the way, i got approved with CSC in 82 days.. hope this helps!

so did you use her address? Thank you for your help and gratz on your visa!!!!!!!! biggrin.gif

Hello! My fiance and I were supposed to file for K1 Visa this month but he got his final order sentece (of his divorce) moved on the 21st of August and we tought that instead apply for k1 Visa he will come to Italy after he gets his divorce decree and get married me over here and then apply for K3...So we are getting informed about the procedure of this Visa but we don't know how to answer to a question on form I130...when they ask you the last placed where u lived together...should i put my address here in Italy(since we will be living together when he will come to see me and married me) or what else? Plus he will stay here a couple of weeks and I'm worried they will denied it if we write that last time we lived together was such a short period! Anyclue about this question? And about evidence of bonafide marriage...we don't have joint ownership or property and stuff like that but we've been together for 5years...how can we show it? Pictures, boarding passes, etc? But at this point isn't like the proof of evidence for K1 Visa wacko.gif
OMG! So confused! LOL!!!!!!!

Sure! I am going through the guys over at http://www.fianceevisas.com/

They never told me things might happen this soon. In fact, quite the contrary - they told me to not expect to hear back until around Nov! But I have been very pleased with them so far and hopefully they'll continue whatever they are doing and finish this in style!

I do want to point out, the lawyer did nothing to make this happen so fast. Those of us that got approved so fast were just lucky!!! I don't know why things happen the way they do at the USCIS, but the people that get approved faster than other is just luck. So please do not go paying for a lawyer just because you think it will make things go faster. good.gif

Oh I know that, i was just joking around because I'm very impressed on how fast they got it =D

your english is fine, don't worry, i was just a little confused by what you meant. wink.gif

the barcode is generated when you complete the form online, as you know. i just returned my packet 3 to london and there were no forms in the packet (i'm not sure if it's the same for italy), all they sent me were instructions on where to find them online. i don't think you should worry about what they mail you, just complete the forms from the website and use the barcode generated. i think it is upon completion of the form that it tells you that the barcode helps them to process the form, my guess is that your answers on the form are compiled into the barcode. i hope this helps. smile.gif

OOhhh!! Thank you that really helped me! I will do like you did and fill up the one online! Thank you gain for your help!!!! good.gif

yeah i know that so basicly i won't have to use the one i find in their package 3 but go on usembassy.gov and fill up the form online right?

what barcode do you mean in packet three? every embassy is different so it is difficult for me to tell what you mean. i had a barcode on the letter from the nvc, is that what you are referring to?

Nononono..let explain myself better =)...ok, when u fill up DS-156 online https://evisaforms.state.gov/ds156.asp, at the end u would press the botton submit and that will direct u to a page with a barcode that i guess will be used by the consulate....so now i was wonder since form DS156 also comes included with package 3, do i have to use that one included with package 3 (but without bar code cuz it can't be generated since its alrady a piece of paper) or do i need to go online and use the one at https://evisaforms.state.gov/ds156.asp so I can generate the final bar code? Mmm...I know its hard to understand because of my english and everything but i hope its a little more clear this time blush.gif

I must be really lame to be opening another thread in like 3 days, but oh well!..

I searched around the forum and saw that people tracked their packages being sent off to the respective consulates overseas, but it doesn't work for me when I try to do what they did.

I go to

http://track.dhl-usa...?nav=TrackByRef

And put EXP 19 NOV 2008A in the Reference Number box. Click Track. Nothing happens. It just says "No shipments found. Please revise criteria and resubmit". wacko.gif

Any ideas? Other people's topics that I read and it worked for them were dated May 2008, the latest. Maybe NVC changed the format since then....

Thanks for any help or thoughts you wwould have on this one star_smile.gif

ok, so say u wanna see todays shipments (even if its too early right now...) u would put EXP 19 NOV 2008A on the reference number box and the from 20 nov to 20 nov and the dates box...but u need to wait this late afternoon to check todays shipments! if u wanna check yesterday put EXP 18 NOV 2008A on the reference box and then from 19 nov to 19 nov and the date box!

I'm not sure u should sign them...on my packet 3 they stated this:
Fill out but do not sign the enclosed forms: (1) DS-156 Nonimmigrant Visa Application (in duplicate)...
I won't sign them and in case I will keep a pen with me and sign them at the embassy.

Hello guys! I getting ready for my interview....On packet 3 I read this:
EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT: Evidence that shows the applicant(s) is/are not likely to become a public charge in the United States. Such evidence may include documentary proof of: (1) the applicant’s personal assets that would be available in the United States

Now...I own a house in US (I'm the only owner of it) and me and my fiance will go and live in that house. I got a loan here in Italy to pay it and I was wondering if I should declare it or if it doesn't really matters? Anybody knows what should I do? Thank you for your help!!!

First of all - the sponsor (who completes the Affidavit of Support I-134) must be the US citizen (the fiancé/spouse). Is that you?

No, I'm the beneficiary. my fiance already sent me the I134 ... I was just asking if I should declare that I own a house there or if it doesn't matter and I just need to show that my fiance make enought money to support me...

There is no way for the beneficiary to declare real property. Does your fiancé earn 125% or more than the poverty guidelines (for two people, you and her, it would be $17,500 -a bit more if you plan to live in Alaska or Hawaii)?

Yeah he does. for your first question: yes if she's beeing assisted by you then you should put your name on it and no it is not a red flag at all, specially if the fiancee is the one helping. now for the other question, has she filed a separate I-130 for the daughter first?

The daughter would be coming over on a K-2 visa. I thought the I-130 form is only for a K-3 visa, no?

You're right it'a K type visa so... Now as far as the child you DO need to fill one out for the child, it says so on the very first page of the DS-230. Instructions: Complete one copy of this form for yourself and each member of your family, regardless of age, who will immigrate with you. Please
print or type your answers to all questions

We have not yet received our NOA2 yet, but I expect to hear something by March 2009. I will be going to Peru to visit my fiancee in January. I want to help her to be ready to prepare her forms and backup. Here are my questions:

1) Question # 34 on the DS-230 form asks if anyone assisted the fiancee in completing this application. Is it important that my name goes in there? If so, will that be a negative "red flag" of some sort?

I don't think u have to put your name there...I think is reserved for agency (like lawyers) that take care of your paperworks

2) She has a 7-year old daughter. Does she need to fill out both the DS-230 Part I and DS-230 Part II for her daughter?
I think that for her daugher (if she will come to the USA with her mum) she will need to fill up just form DS 156

Under the VisaJourney Guide for K1/K2 Visa Applications, answer to FAQs 4.3.1, it says "Fill out and sign the DS-230 Part 1 biographical data sheet and send it back to the Consulate, one for the fiancee and one for each K2 child." However, this does not make a whole lot of sense to me.

You will need to look at your packet 3...on mine they wrote that just for form DS 156...Also on form DS230 they will already ask what childern will accompany her to USA (question 21b)....
Here an example of what my packet 3 say:

FIRST: Complete the enclosed Form DS-230, Part 1, Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration, and send it via fax to (39) (081) 583-8394 or send the original Part I via mail to Consolato Generale Americano, Piazza della Repubblica, 80122 Napoli, Italy. We recommend that you fax us the DS-230, Part I, because it is both more reliable and faster, and keep the original DS-230, Parts I and II, for presentation at the time of the visa interview. The Consulate cannot process your case until it receives this form.
SECOND: Fill out but do not sign the enclosed forms: (1) DS-156 Nonimmigrant Visa Application (in duplicate); you must also complete two copies of the DS-156 for each child who will apply with you; and (2) DS-156K Nonimmigrant Fiance(e) Visa Application.

These are the instruction on my packet 3...you may wanna check out the instruction of your packet 3 (usually u can find it at the her embassy website)

for your first question: yes if she's beeing assisted by you then you should put your name on it and no it is not a red flag at all, specially if the fiancee is the one helping. now for the other question, has she filed a separate I-130 for the daughter first?

The daughter would be coming over on a K-2 visa. I thought the I-130 form is only for a K-3 visa, no?

Yes it is.
I also wanted to correct my other answer about putting your name on question 34.
I read it better and i think you DO wanna put your name there and I DO NOT think it will be a red flag!
Good luck!!!
