Hi! I would just like to update everyone on our progress. We had our interview last June 10th, and passed :D

Got my visa on hand last June 23, and booked my flight to LAX on July 17.

It is true what they say that time does fly when you get your NOA2. I'm in shock and so happy at how far this thread have gone! I was reading back on the previous thread on how we were patiently and kinda impatiently waiting for our NOA2's, but now, it seems everyones progressing really well! To those who haven't gotten their NOA2 yet, you're still in our prayers.

Good luck everyone and thank you! :D

I should just have the interviewer look at our Facebook pages...that in and of itself tells our entire story (for the most part). :)

I know, right? <_< Thanks for all your tips. :)

I would spread the examples over the entire relationship. Skipping a month or two is fine but for example if an 18 month relationship, make sure you have some examples from at least half of the months. A little extra for beginning and end is good.

That's what I was thinking also. I'm just overwhelmed with how much we have.. they are too many!!! It's a lot of work. When you had your interview, did you put all the evidence in a clearbook or anything of that sort to make it organized? Is that okay with the embassy? Because I was planning to put it in a clearbook, like a scrapbook, only it's a formal one since it's official papers. Would that be okay?

Thanks everyone for your replies!

Hmm.. I understand. Because If I was to bring all our evidences, I think that's one or two half a century old trees. There are just too many. I was thinking of start of relationship.. and the current ones. Is that okay?

Hello everyone!

My fiance and I are December Filers, and I was mostly given the task to fix our evidences while waiting for NOA2. I would just like to know how much evidence do we need? I have hundreds of pages of chat transcripts, tons of pictures, about a hundred of snail mail letters, tons of receipts. Should I show everything? There are so many. Any advice from people who have gone through this already? Thanks so much.

I'm actually on the process on doing this one as well. I copy pasted everything and highlighting the personal info. :innocent:
But, I'm not actually going to put everything in there. Probably conversation every month and a half only, just to show that our relationship is still ongoing.

Yeah, it's already in the consulate. It's been there ever since they sent it last June. Just get the other documents needed for the interview, and also have your medical done. You can have the medical done anytime. It's only walk-in. Just make sure you don't have your period. Also, make sure to get your NBI clearance asap, because they are taking a longer time to release it now, since they're having computer problems. You can order your CENOMAR online or via phone. :) It's all in my blog site, just take a look at it. All the information is there. :)

Hi Christianna,

You don't have to wait for anything from the Embassy. Chances are, you won't receive anything from them. They should send out this so-called "Eligibility Letter", but I am done with my medical and interview, and I still don't have it!

First, you can now pay for your visa fee at any BPI branch. Just bring your passport with you, probably also your child's. (I'm not sure about the children, since I went through the process without one. Just bring your child's identification, just in case)

After 4-6 hours, you should be able to schedule. There are 2 ways: through phone or online. You can check out my blog, since typing it all here takes a long time.

Second, you can also have your medical done already. You can have it done now, actually. Anytime between your interview. Look at my signature below, it should be there.

Hope this helps! And, don't hesitate to ask me questions if ever you need some advice!

Good luck!

Edit: Here's the link for how to schedule here

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAN WE STILL APPLY FOR A FIANCE VISA EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN TOGETHER FOR A YEAR AND A HALF?

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAN WE STILL APPLY FOR A FIANCE VISA EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN TOGETHER FOR A YEAR AND A HALF?

Hi all,
I was wondering if you have any kind advise for me. My fiance and I have been dating for 1 year and 6 months(July 2 is our anniversary) . I know that in order for you to request a Fiance visa is that you have been together for 2 YEARS! I was hoping to send the application on April, but that's only 1year 9months.Anyway, is there a way they can waive that requirement,or is there a chance we can write a letter or something?
Question #2.I've heard that you need to attach translated documents when submitting your packet. Does that has to be notarized or can we just do it ourselves? My boyfriend lives in Paris. Does anybody know a place where you can get them translated? OMG! I'm desperate! I don't know if this is something we can do it ourselves or do we have to go see a lawyer? Some people say we can just do it ourselves ,but I'm scared we screw up or something.
Thank you soooo much for taking the time to read this :-)

With regards to Question # 1 - Yes, you can apply for a fiance's visa.. There is no such thing as you have to have known each other for 2 years.. Their requirements is that you should have SEEN each other or have been with each other personally for the past 2 years. With that, you have to submit proof that your fiance visited you like passport stamps, boarding passes and pictures of the 2 of you together.

The K1 visa process is actually very easy, and if your fiance doesn't really have any criminal record or any hindrances, you can do it on your own. There are some guides here in this website that will help you, and I'm sure that if there is something that confuses you, you can just go here and ask that question.

Here is the guide for a fiance's visa.. I'm sure you guys can do it on your own.

http://www.visajourn...content/k1guide

Regarding translating your papers, I'm not so sure about that, and I'll let someone else give some advice.

Good luck!! :)

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionAffidavit of Support

In the future, please don't hijack a thread, make your own so we don't have two different issues in the one topic.

To answer your question, since you're here, it will depend on what his household size is. If he claims no dependents on his taxes, it will just be 2 (himself and you), and yes $30k is well over the minimum for 2 people.

The fact he pays for his parent's home is a non-issue, so long as he doesn't claim his parents as dependents on his taxes. And he doesn't have any children.

Okay. Sorry about that and thanks for your reply!

Hi. I guess this is somewhat off-topic, but it is somehow related to the question.

My fiance earns around 30K annually, and pays for his parents house which is in his name. Is that enough? I mean, is that enough to support me or should we still get a co-sponsor as well?

Thanks for the help.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionHelp on our Affidavit of Support

Hi Hope and Sun, you can get all your paperwork needed before you go to your interview now. You need to be getting it all together. You will need the DS-156, DS156K, and DS-157. You need 2 copies of each except the 156K, you only need one copy of that. Here is the exact requirements you will need to get together now so you will be ready to pay for the Visa and then schedule your interview date. http://photos.state....3__rtf2_001.pdf

Your Fience will need to ship to you all the original documents that were used for the USCIS, and a copy of the I-129, and the approval. You need to gather up all the pictures, letters, cards, copies of emails and conversations online, all to prove you have a real relationship, and you have met personally in the past 2 years. Look over the above link and start going down the list till you have everything you need.
Good luck to you. I know how you are feeling right now because it took over 190 days for me and my fience to get our NOA2. I felt hopeless and couldnt do anything to get it approved finally. I hope you don't have much more time to wait.

Okay, we'll get that done now. It's the wait that's hard, it takes a toll on the relationship. We'll just keep ourselves busy with this one for a while, and get everything fixed because after we passed our papers, we weren't really able to fix everything after that because we both became so busy. Just keeping positive and patience is the key.

Thanks for the tip, BrianJenny. :)

Your fiance's 30k income will be so fine dont worry. because he only needs 18.2K annual income for 2 people. In terms of documents, He needs to have a Employment Letter (if he is employed) Pay stubs, Tax return and you are ready to go..

Goodluck!

Thanks so much, dragonlover! Can we do all this in advance? Even if we don't have our NOA2 yet?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionHelp on our Affidavit of Support
Hi everyone! My fiance and I passed our I-129 last December 1st, so we are just now waiting for our NOA2. Hopefully, it would come soon.

Finally, I finished my exams and now on my downtime so we can get this thing ready. For NOA2, I know some papers might take weeks to get. Can anyone please tell me what are the forms that need to get done? I heard there was tax returns, work proof.. stuff like that. What do we need?

Also, my fiance earns around 30K annually. He lives in a household with his parents and sister right now, because he is the one paying for it. The name is under is house. Does that affect his ability to support me? He doesn't have any dependents though.

Thanks everyone :)

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionAffidavit of Support (Personal Property)

Before answering your question, let me ask you this first. Does your fiancé earn the minimum requirement (for you and his household size) from his/her employment? (I'm assuming their job isn't collecting stuff but I could be wrong.)

The reason I ask is that if his/her income (from working) is sufficient - there is no need to list personal property; the same goes for bank-account info, stocks/bonds, real estate, etc.

Hi Otto,

He earns an average of more or less $30K per annum. Does this mean we can just leave these items blank?

Good day!

My fiance is in the process of filling up the Affidavit of Support and we are kind of clueless of how to answer item #7. See, he is a collector of stuff, and he has watches, guitars, stereos, and other vintage stuff. We are wondering if we need to have this appraised and get an appraiser? We thought that was expensive, but do we really need to do it? Please help us on this.

Thank you so much.

US Citizenship General DiscussionWhen can I file?

Hi everyone!

How are you?

I'm sure this has been posted here before, but I am too lazy to go back and look for it.

I entered the US July of 2011 via a K1 fiance visa. I got married September 2011.

I had a 2 years green card from Feb 2012-2014. I am currently a 10 year Green Card holder since Feb. 2014.

My question is, when can I apply for citizenship? I understand that the rule is that we should have been together for 3 years. It's going to be 3 years this September. Or I should count from the time they gave me permanent residency (green card).

Thanks for anyone who has the patience to answer my question as I'm pretty sure it's been asked a thousand times before.

Have a good day!
