I am sooo MAD right now! Oliverio said he went to check on his passport yesterday and the guy said that he needs papers from when he was in school before he can process it any further. What a load of S@$T! It sounds to me like this guys isn't going to give him his passport no matter what. Now he is going to go to Alacupolco to buy his Passport. But now he probably won't get his passport in time to go to Juarez! I knew something else was going to happen I could just scream right now! :crying: :crying:

I had my parents fill out an avidavit of Support and have it notorized since I haven't made enough this year to qualify. Is there anything I should take with it? Should I fill one out too or do I not need to worry about it since my parents agreed to "sponsor"?

I just got off the phone with Oliverio and he picked his ID up today and went and paid for his passport. They said he can pick up his passport next Monday......Thank God I don't have to worry about that now, but I'm still gonna kick him when I see him :P 8 more days and I'll be gone, but I'll take my computer with me and post everything as it happens...I can't wait..It's all I've been thinking about. I just want to pack everything up and put it in my van so I feel like I'm leaving today hahaha

If they do not allow my fiance to pay and do his fingerprints for two weeks, could I send in the waiver when I get home (before he pays) and just write them a note saying what date he will be paying and doing fingerprints?

When Oliver takes pictures to his interview, will it be ok if he takes three regular pictures of us and then the rest printed out from my computer? All of our pictures are on an SD card from my camera. Plus we were going to take more the day before his interview so if my family goes with they interviewer can see they are there too.

I am putting a box of gifts together for Oliverio to take back with him to his family after his interview. I was wondering what kind of stuff kids in Mexico like. I asked Oliverio and he says they like anything but I was aiming for specifics! I know his 15 yr old sister likes writing, books and wants to come to the US to go to college so I got her a journal, some neat pens, some books in spanish and an English-Spanish Translation book but I'm clueless with the other kids. There's another girl (12) and 3 boys (16, 13 and 10) Does anyone have any suggestions?

What do you think they will look at more when filing evidence with the waiver.......lack of jobs, low wages, crimes, cost of living....or.....personal problems?

Also, our Dr. has said my grandmother has signs of beginning Stage I Alzheimer's but I cannot get him to give me a paper stating this until her next appointment in January. My whole family knows I will be her sole caregiver within the next year. Can I just have family members write letters stating this and include info on the Alzheimer's Disease or do I need to keep bugging the Dr. until he caves?

UCLA....Personally, I would NEVER send a check....God only knows who could get ahold of it with all of your info on it. The only way I send my fiance money is through Western Union...It's safe...They once had a typo on his name and 2 letters were switched around...They wouldn't give him the money because it was different then his actual name hehe It does cost a lil much but I'd rather do that then take a chance of all my personal info going into the wrong hands :)

I talked to my fiance and he said he will have his ID on Dec. 3 and it will take about a week for him to get his Passport. So we are aiming to go on Dec. 13 :( I guess this will give me more time to build a strong case for his waiver.

waitingincolo......go to this site:

http://www.pbs.org/j...les/mexico.html

I am using this site in my waiver...It has a complete profile of Mexico. Also to find crime rates in my fiances town, I just Googled "Chilpancingo Crimes" and it found a BUNCH of stuff. Also, I have my fiance save all newspaper articles with any crimes and to show there are no jobs or housing where he lives. I hope this helps a little :)

waiting4oliverio,

You're not the only one with the procrastinating fiance, mine also barely got his passport, last week. Well, he went to go get it, but it's not ready yet, he has to go pick it up this week. It doesn't take too long to get the passport though. He went like on Tuesday of last week and they told him to go pick it up this week, so don't worry too much. Just tell oliverio to go soon. Do like I did, just tell him that you need it NOW, no more waiting, scare him a little so he goes, sound a bit mad when you tell him, I bet it will work :D

He's driving me crazy!! hehe I told him a month ago that if he didn't have his passprt for the interview, he won't have an interview and it's going to take even longer to get his Visa. I tell him that everytime we talk....I think it's just now starting to sink in a little hehe I talk to him tomorrow so I will try your way and let you know if it works...I hope it does. I'm about ready to fly down there and do it myself :P

My fiance is the most stubbern man I have ever known :bonk:
He just told me that he still has not gotten his passport. He said he went last week to get another ID because he can't find his and the guy told him it will take 2 months to get his ID. And he doesn't know how long it will take to get his passport. If he doesn't have his passport when he goes to his interview will they just refuse to do the interview? We already have to file the waiver and now more time will be wasted because of the passport. What can we do now? :(

HELLO TO EVERYONE!

IM NEW TO THIS MESSAGE BOARD, BUT SOME OF YOU, do KNOW ME! KITKAT, E&K, ALEJANDRA, ETC..

IM IN MEXICO CITY, MY FIANCE IS IN NY, WE JUST GOT THE APPROVAL AFTER 10 MONTHS AND WE ARE SO HAPPY. He is coming to Mexico City next week and will stay until christmas.. !

I have a 130 days overstay on a tourist visa, And reading this thread, Im a little afraid of getting the waiver.. PLEASE GOD!!!!!! NO MORE WAITING!!!!!! Hopefully I can be safe from the waiver if im under the 180 days or something like that. Any opinions?

un abrazo a todas y todos
B.

If it was under 180 days then you shouldn't need a waiver for that reason...You should be ok :)
The reason my fiance needs a waiver is because he was here illegally for more then 180 days

Well girls, I am finishing up my Hardship letter and I have a couple of questions.....If my fiance's waiver is denied I will have to relocate to Chilpancingo, Guerrero. Does anyone know where I can find out about Health Insurance, Jobs or Housing there so I can use it for my letter?
My fiance says there is no jobs or available housing there, but I want proof of it as evidence. Could I just have him write a letter stating there is nothing or can we use the proof that he has been there since May 2006 and still has not been able to find work?

I know I'm a pain but I don't know of any people better to ask then my Mexico Sistas hehe :luv:

I'm glad you heard from your hunny KK, now you can relax and not stress out for a few months Lucky!! :P

Phew - finally talked to him! He's tired and hungry and has a headache so I did not get a complete report yet. He said he waited all day. I think they didn't interview him until around 4:00. They also sent him to get new photos taken because apparently they didn't like the background on the ones he had. (I've heard this happening to a lot of people). They only asked a few questions, nothing about me or where I was, and then told him he had to come back in two weeks to submit the waiver. But somehow he was able to get a pass for tomorrow morning - hard to know if they will actually let him submit the waiver then, but it's worth a try since his return flight is not until tomorrow night. They also allowed him to give his fingerprints and pay for them today. I don't know what financial information they took or anything more, but when I get more information I promise to post it. Big relief.

If they don't allow him to sumit the wavier tomorrow but they let him pay for it....wouldn't it be easier and faster for him or you to send it in by mail?

I was just thinking.....if the waiver is denied for my fiance, what other options do we have besides me moving to Mexico? Is there a certain amount of time that has to go by and then you can apply again or is the waiver denial the end of the road?

Oh sweetie - you do need to get some sleep (I saw your other post). For me, Ambien (prescription) is the answer!

If the waiver is denied (it won't be if you are well prepared and have written a strong hardship letter and provided sufficient evidence), you would reapply when the ban is over (either 3 years or 10 years depending on how long he was out of status in the US) or you would appeal. Don't even think about that - put your energy toward a strong letter!!!

There is no such thing as sleep on this wild journey...hehe If I post my hardship letter, would you give me some pointers? I want to make sure it's a solid approval :)

KK and everyone else.....Thank you all for your support and help. I really do appreciate it. I don't know what I would do if I would of never found this site....probably would of worried myself to death with questions :dead: hehe
