Raffaella, how wonderful your love is coming for a visit. We were contemplating a trip in June for me to NZ but it's just so expensive and such a production managing my life to fly to the other side of the world for a couple weeks. Of course, we didn't think we'd be stuck in limbo so long either. I'm sure it would have done us wonders. I hope it does for you. smile.gif

Bex, good luck sweetheart! I'm sure it will be just great! Can't wait to hear.

Pandora, how are you feeling today? I do hope that it's stronger and more willing to do what it's going to take. Listen to the advice you're getting hon. I know it's a difficult time but in every difficulty lies opportunity. wink.gif Giving up is just not an option.

Nice to see you Sally! Almost time to fly home! smile.gif

Good morning Alexandra

Hello ronjie... i'm sure it's soon for you too!

Always such great advice mama nich! wink.gif So glad to know you're not a fwd queen! laughing.gif

Well I was hoping to see a bunch more late March / early April filers approved this morning. I sure wish we had some to keep us going each day.

Thanks Kim, Im so dissapointed its taking so long for you Aprilinaireans to get those approvals, now pull your socks up VSC and CSC and get these sorted, dont worry about rfe just approve them all regardless.

Lol

Seriously hope you hear something soon.

Thanx Raffaella, I have checked that everything is in order a million times; it all looks good to me. It's all in London's hands really, nothing much more Alan and I can do. Not getting the visa will be a massive blow but we love each other and we won't let anyone stand in the way of that.

It's lovely to hear you talking about your journey with a little more optimism today. I hope you are feeling a little bit better

Congrats the I-797 is the approval. well done.

Bex...feel better love.

It seems they are pushing through March. I know it's so hard watching the dates change. I try not to pay too much attention to that just because I know folks are joining and dropping out all over. Just the fact that they're moving through March keeps me going. Let's hope all those adjuticators are working the weekend and that we find the rest of you March'ers approved on Monday! Too much to ask for ya think? laughing.gif

I know how you all feel, when I was at your stage thought Id never be approved or the one left till last, but when your done you will look back and think, aside for the time it takes it is an easy process. You all will get your approvals at the right time lol .

It wont be much longer now guys, hang in there. I know you must be thinking "humph, thats easy for her to say" but we really are moving onto the end of the month filers now. Its a process of elimination. I'm going to be mustering every good vibe I have to send to VSC this weekend. Lets hope we get a Sunday blitz!!

Ana call NVC they are so lovely, everyone after USCIS stage are so helpful. At the lost package stage of our journey we called UCSIS and the people there were so rude to both Alan and I on numerous occasions. Since getting NOA2 the NVC, DoS and the Embassy have all been brilliant - "have a good day" this and "anything more I can help you with?" that! Finally I am getting my $455 worth of courtesy.

Nic that POE info is really helpful, we should ask Ewok about possibly putting it somewhere safe. Could someone add it to the VJwiki maybe?

Hi Mrs sdp. Welcome to VJ. I couldn't have gotten through this process without VJ, especially not without all the wonderful people here on this thread. Not just March filers but everyone that rallies around to offer support, experience, advice and well needed giggles! When I started this journey I was angry and upset, I remember saying something like "I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy" but you know what in a twisted little way I'm glad I've had to wait and I'm glad that I've had questions and that it hasn't all been straight forward. I've had some great times with the people I've met so far and formed some lovely little friendships that will hopefully last long after this process has finished. It's not bad all of the time if you don't want it to be. Good luck with your journey, it's definitely going to be character building.

I'm having a bed rest weekend. I've been on antibiotics this week but this infection is kicking my butt! I have my medical on Wednesday sad.gif so I'm hoping to have shifted this fever by then.

I hope everyone is well.

Next week I'll be all lonely and grouchy since I have to go back home tomorrow morning. And I'll be out of synch time-wise on your postings. You'll be having a party on here and telling your news while I'm still sleeping.

Aleena, I'm ready for you to get your NOA 2. This is the week. idea9dv.gif ~~~~~~~~
We need to hurry up so Kim's April club can be the happening place with approvals coming in. I think a week of 20+ VJ approvals would be good.

You know, our lists are such a small part of what they do at the service centers. When I was tracking my package from NVC to the embassy, in two days of shipments there were papers going to 82 or 83 different countries. And there were multiple petitions in many of the packages. That's alot of approvals going out in a two day period.

BTW we scanned the whole packet 3 letter and checklist from London, but I don't really how to post documents on VJ for other people to reference. It had an April 2008 date on the form, so it's very new.

Bex, hope you've ordered your police certificate and gotten your P3 stuff together because you will have your packet next week for sure. The police certificate is good for 12 months. Maybe that's why you're mad at Alan, because he's not started his part (affidavit of support). Whenever possible during this process, I filled out the forms and emailed them to Nick to print and sign. Alot of the original petition forms were pdf that could be saved.

While your talking packet 3, its worth taking copies of your original documents for the interview, such as birth cert, police cert etc, they will then keep the copies and give you the originals back.

I hate living alone, sleeping alone...I dont have parents here and my 2 sisters are always too busy for me. I lost all my friends to the divorce. Im completely alone. I told Donnie many times that his situation is not even close to mine. He has a comfortable life there...hes happy. He is used to be alone but Im not. I want new friends, new job...and not long ago I moved to a new town which I love. I really need to rebuild my life...but now is on hold...and Im getting depressed...how long should I keep on waiting?????this is not fair! not fair.

tuty - i am pleased to hear that you were able to get your old marriage certificate! star_smile.gif i'm also thrilled that you will be seeing each other in 6 weeks. that isn't very long at all! i'm sure you will have a wonderful time rose.gif you are right! patience is key!!!

aleena - you are more than welcome for the support. yes, we are very lucky that we are fairly close. in fact, just knowing we share the same weather patterns (within about 8 hours of each other) and sky (within an hour of each other) helps a lot some days. our current situations are limiting us from seeing each other any time soon, but i am actually alright with that. we have so much to look forward to and i can focus on our future while i'm wrapping things up here in toronto. we have had three very, very meaningful conversations over the last few days and i am more content than ever. we just really had to dig in and discuss a few key things and all of a sudden some major weight has been lifted. i am so grateful and happy.

i am very happy that you have friends who can help you to surprise him on his birthday if you can't be there. we should brainstorm things to do for our guys if we can't see them on their birthdays! laughing.gif

and i should start thinking about whether or not i can get back to see david for his birthday. i'm glad i have a couple of months to figure things out yes.gif

wow. july is a good month with all the birthdays!! biggrin.gif

nich - i couldn't agree more re: strange set of circumstances. we so badly wanted things to speed up and now have to make sure things slow down so that i have enough time here... likely another 10 months at the rate things are going. gosh - it will be nice to have a more exact time, and i hope to know that within the next couple of weeks.

thanks sal for mentioning that a delay in sending package three would help. i was wondering about that smile.gif

kim - haven't they been great lately at CSC? it's nice to see so many people with so much hope once csc started speeding up. i am quite excited at the thought of receiving our NOA2. i'm positive we'll see something by august.

BEX - the gift you sent to alan sounds perfect. photos mean so much, i think. i'm sure he'll be thrilled.

and YYYYAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, i didn't know yee was a pirate! laughing.gif

I wish you all well, I know how it feels waiting for your nao2 and its frustrating not knowing when you will get it, but once you do get that the next stages move really quick. More forms to fill in, medicals, documents to get from your SO lol (that is no easy task lol). Enjoy this time and know you are now on the way to spending the rest of your life with your loved one.

Yep, we plan to include a cover letter asking for an interview after July 14 and hope that will take care of it. There's always the reschedule option. I also read in a post long ago that London schedules you according to what date you put as your planned entry into the US. A guy was wondering why he hadn't gotten an interview. His planned entry was 6 months in the future. Somebody replied they schedule your interview about 6 weeks before the date you say you plan to enter. In that way they take care of people who want to go ASAP and push back those planning on taking months to tie things up. Sounds reasonable. Wonder if that's true?

Ive not heard of that, I have no planned entry date specified and still got mine quickly.

And my guy's birthday is also in July. He booked a ticket months ago to come to the US for his b'day. The craziest thing is--it's possible to have the interview and K1 before that trip so we now have to stall the process or cancel the trip because July is too soon to drop everything and move over the pond.

What a strange set of circumstances we get ourselves into. Aleena wants the interview and visa by July 11 and can't speed it up. We are now realizing we need to slow it down to after mid-July. I guess our collective gripe is that we don't have control over this part of our lives. It's in the hands of government employees.

huh.gif Hmmm...the postman just pushed an envelope through the door. Could that be Packet 3? It doesn't say US Consulate on it anywhere, so I guess not.

If you want to slow it down you can delay sending packet 3 back or ask the embassy for an alternative date.
Hope that helps.

it depends on how quickly the Nao2 comes and then how long it takes for the embassy to send your packet 3 and then scheduling the interview, seems to me that you will be lucky to get all that done in that time, but I hope im wrong and you get what you require.

Take a look at other timelines for your embassy and see how quickly these move from nao2 to interview.

I'm happy with that. I was gonna ship some stuff over but I'm leaning more towards taking advantage of my full baggage allowance and just being super strict with what I take .... ah I don't know ... details, details!!

xxxxxxx

thats what i do too, im thinking of going end of june, ba baggage allowance is a lot more than other airlines.

I think im going to have to ship some stuff over tho, but I am the sort of person that cannot book my flight or arrange anything till visa is in my sweaty palm.

All being well I am hoping to go at the end of june and the price for that is about £450.

Omg I got so lost in Atlanta the first time, its huge.

Alan has been to one venue a couple of times now and really likes it - http://www.marriott....e-mountain-inn/

I love Stone Mountain, we've spent some really happy times there and it would definitely give us the chance to have lots of nice outdoors photographs, the room opens up into the courtyard too, as were hoping it will be in September the weather should be lovely. The building is very "southern" and with it being a Marriott they are giving us a good discount for guest rooms. Hopefully Alan and I will be staying out of the way at the Evergreen resort just across the park. Haha this plan changes everyday ... we are having a big wedding ... we aren't having a big wedding ... who knows!

We use Vonage. 7.99 (pounds) a month unlimited calls to US. It uses any kind of regular phone. I have it too for $25/mo unlimited calls to all of US, UK, Italy, and France. We talk hours a day. Kinda late for you to start a year's term. But if anybody is interested I would love for you to use one of our numbers as a referral so we and thenew customer get a free month or two. PM me for that wink.gif

Actually when Nick came here, he brought his Vonage box and plugged it into my router and his UK calls rang here. He may continue it so his family can call him anytime they want to with no long distance fees.

He's on the phone right now (of course) and suggested you look at www.telediscount.co.uk and check for information about access codes. 1 pence per minute to US.

Another option is Talk Talk I use them and have free calls to the us unlimited.

The sun is shining and I have my bikini on (reminding myself that there is definitely a LONG way to go on the diet front before I'm going to get in that dress!) Hope everyone else is enjoying their day as much as I am.

Bex xxxx

Sending lots of happy vibes to VSC for you Bex biggrin.gif and hmm bikini havnt worn one of those in ages sad.gif had to sit at my desk at work today and watch the weather go by although the sunshine is a great pick me up biggrin.gif

now on a forward planning note, would be fun if some of us got the same medical or interview date

You book your own medicals so you could arrange that. best of luck to you all.

anyways.... i was trying to make a point yesterday...and that was how nice it is to know that other people are going thru the same thing and how much alike our feelings and frustrations are... and also how nice it is to have people here willing to help and share their experience smile.gif

i feel like jumping up and down now...i will see my baby in 3 days...after being apart for about 5 months... God...how much i waited for this...
He will only be here for 10 days...but enough to keep me going for a couple more months....when hopefuly all this would be over smile.gif

i am killing time now trying to figure out what to cook...lol... cleaning my place...
also working on a surprise gift smile.gif

yes, you MUST tell us about the surprise gift smile.gif

how exciting that you get to see your guy in 3 days. that's nothing! you're so close! i hope you have a wonderful time together. i should know *fingers crossed* by tonight if david will be here this weekend or next. i can't wait to see him again.

and it is FANTASTIC to be in touch with other people who are in the same boat as we are. it makes it seem much more bearable, that's for sure. star_smile.gif

I'm getting on with school work and trying to make plans. I've only checked USCIS like 4 times today - GET IN!!! We've been lucky today, Alan has been able to spend a little time at his desk so we have swapped some nice messages. Its the little things that make that needed difference sometimes. I've decided as soon as I get some spare time, I'm going to start running ... well walking and then maybe jogging lol. I bought a wedding dress in Feb and deliberately got a size too small, I've lost almost 20lbs already and have about 15 to go before I'm at my ideal weight. Thats a great target for me to work towards and best of all its 100% in my control. Thats the hardest thing about this process for me so it will be perfect for me to have something that I'm fully able to take charge off. Whoop!

bex - i'm glad you're feeling better today. hurrah!!!

i agree that it is the little things that make all the difference. david sent a very funny photo of his son lucas to my cell phone last night. i laughed for at least 10 minutes. we got to talk this morning on the phone for a few minutes, too.

that's exciting that you have your wedding dress already. i bought my wedding dress a few weeks ago! here's a photo. i am so excited about it. i have always wanted a beautiful pale pink, vintage dress. it's all hand-beaded with beads and pearls and has beautiful lace on it. it was a steal, too! $35! i might even buy another dress since we'll have our court house wedding followed by a really big shindig with friends and family later (once we've regained some of our sanity after this process).

i agree that having something in your control, like working out, can be an excellent diversion in this process. i'm trying to exercise on a regular basis to kill off any anxious feelings i might be having. it helps quite a bit. the bonus is that the gym i belong to has a cable television on EVERY cardio machine, so i can watch television while i do my cardio. i don't have cable at home (trying to save $) so at least i can go to the gym and watch hockey or nascar... or whatever smile.gif

The dress is lovely im sure you will look great smile.gif

Well, my check was cashed and I got the receipt number from the back of the check image, so now I can check my case status online. When I went to the USCIS website, it reads:

"On March 31, 2008, we received this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E), and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice..."

Does this mean that they mailed me my NOA1 already??? On the same day they received my petition???!!!

Yes thats sounds like a Nao1 to me, hope it is for you.

the VSC just received my I-129F today via USPS. Hopefully I get my Noa1 soon. I would have been lost without this website smile.gif good luck all

My I-129F petition was delivered to VSC yesterday (3/31/08) so now I will be obsessively checking my bank account all week to see if my check gets cashed! Then hopefully I can get the receipt number off the check and sign up for USCIS email updates. After that, there won't be much more I can do but wait...

Thanks and good luck to everyone else waiting from March!

Good luck with your journey!

My check was cashed yesterday. Funny how I usually don't like to see that my checking account has gone down, but in this case I was really happy to see that $455 was gone. haha.

Well, we just sent off the I-129F packet today, so just wanted to officially "join" the group! But we're sending from overseas, so hopefully it will get there in March, but we may end up as April filers. UPS says 3-4 days, so we'll see...

This site is a great source of information and really helped me in a lot of ways when preparing the packet. Thanks to everyone who contributes!!
