It was sooo hard for me to leave her behind when I came home. And after finding that our old attorney held our file and did nothing with it the new attorney has filed, our check has been cashed and we are awaiting our NOA1. We have waited weeks for the NOA1 though which is frustrating but we are holding together and helping each other be strong now. Our day will come. I am actually going to visit again on Sept 25. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	August 08 k-1 filers	My beautiful fiancee Jaqi and I learned a tough lesson recently. We trusted an attorney to begin the filing process. He continued to brush us off over the course of several weeks. As it turns out he had done nothing at all beyond my first meeting with him. We finally managed to get him to admit he had not done anything in nearly 1 1/2 months. So, we have now found an attorney, have questioned him thoroughly , and it seems he is on the up and up. So, be thorough when researching your attorney. I am going to visit my fiancee in Nairobi this coming week. When I return we will file the papers with the new attorney. We are so much looking forward to the time together this coming week and even more so to getting the k-1 visa process started. We will keep you posted. Our prayers are with those of you going thru this process. And honestly, I will not rest until Jaqi and I are together. She is amazing and has the biggest heart I have ever known. ( This is what comes to my mind everytime i think of the Visa. The waiting is nerve wrecking but in my low moments, wht keeps me strong is prayers. . Im one happy woman today because im leaving for Paris to meet my fiancee for 3 days. . I thank the Lord for His grace and without Him this wouldn't have been possible. OOh i so wish i were returning home with him but for sure i know that day will come. I have been waiting for this day for the last 2 months and im finally happy its here but i dont know wht i'll be feeling when we both leave for different places . Will have to be more patient again. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Aug 2008 K1	Jaqi and Brian - Aug 08 K1 application We sent all of our documents to our lawyer on Aug 8, 2008. Frustration set in when his assistant sent an email requesting "missing" items. There were no "missing" items and the problem was straightened out with a phone call. Poor communication within the firm. Just one obstacle in our path, I'm certain. The lawyer said he has now filed everything and we are waiting on our receipt confirming it is filed. But at least now the process is underway. We wake up each day thinking "We are one day closer to being together", so we were very eager to get the ball rolling. And we pray everyday the K1 process will be smooth and timely. Wish us luck. If you have any advise as to what we should anticipate at this point we would be very grateful. I had my dress fitting last weekend, it will be ready in another week. Getting ready to order my veil and garter .... about 5 weeks to go for the family wedding. Now it will be sent to the nvc and then on to the embassy in London. Good luck with the medical and interview. so another 8 months ** sigh ** The next stages moves quickly, start preparing your docs for packet 3. London gives interviews within 3 weeks of reciept of packet 3. You can contact nvc to see when its recieved by them and also they will tell you when its forwarded to the Embassy. If you have your medical before the interview you will recieve your visa within a few days of the interview. My timeline in my signature may give you some indication of the timeframes.
