They're key ingredients in the most delicious recipes (i.e. chocolate caramel shortbread) but I suppose I may have a better diet this way. I know you can get condensed milk and golden syrup here.. they use alot in St Lucia (lots of British products there) and I have seen in my local grocery stores... We have some good stores here in Maine. I am sure you can find things. :-) Now for me I would love to find some good salt fish and breadfruit! LOL Oh my what it is that lol Saltfish is just that - Salty Fish!! Most people don't like (here in states anyway) But I grew to love it! Breadfruit is a big round starchy veggie... I loved that too. We had our time change in the US the first weekend in March, so I lost 1 hour there. Then I lost 5 hours in the time change flying here. Yeah, I have to admit, the options that some of the US companies provide in Europe are better than what we get in the states. And you'd think, with all the nationalities in the states, they'd have them there too. You'd be surprised though, US & UK Heinz Catsup are practically identical. German Heinz Catsup, doesn't even taste like Heinz ... it's got barely any spices to it! There is always World Market in the US to get some other country foods, but it's barely a dent in what is really available in European countries! You'll be fine on the flight ... and you'll do fine meeting his parents too!!! Just be you and everything will be alright! While I'm in London, the company I am working for these two weeks is in Hounslow. We pass through Ealing on our way there! Russell called the Embassy yesterday and they told him they couldn't book k1's on the phone. Well, he emailed after he got off the phone and received an email back right away stating that they had received our petition from the NVC late afternoon the day before and had already sent out the appointment package to him and that his appointment was on the 17th...next Wednesday at 10am!!! That's 6pm Tuesday night for us in the U.S. What a difference from being in the U.S. ...thank goodness for New Zealand! NZ usually takes two days to process the visa but that's without any issues...sadly, we almost expect issues. He plans on flying home the following Wednesday...the 24th. Just hours away from the very day he was denied entry in Dublin last year! Ironic, no? So, in just two weeks, we will have everything we have fought so hard for and waited soooo, soooo many years for! We are riding on a cloud! Just thrilled! Jon, i'd say the Embassy has just not yet processed your petition into their system. I'm sure it wont be much longer for you. You're going to be just fine Gaura. London will be a breeze..try not to stress yourself out too much! They're probably not even going to ask you for more proof of relationship. Keep us posted! Then we went away for a few days and then his family hosted a reception for us on Tuesday. I am very lucky, Jay has a good family and they are all keen to help me settle. I have found it quite emotional leaving my home country but the emotion may be down to tiredness from the jet lag. Jay is very supportive and attentive and helps me through. I have started looking at aos but the paperwork we need is in my shipping so that will have to wait till that arrives on the 14th. I am so sorry that you are still waiting, it dissapoints me beyond belief and makes me realise how lucky us January filers were although we did not know it at the time. I had a good long sleep in this morning after a long day in the hot 95 degree sun yesterday. We did a collection downtown for the 3-day in memory of a friend who died last year of breast cancer. She was just 39 and left her husband and 2 small boys. Keeps things a bit more in perspective, no? I do hope this is our week pip! I'd love to see them clear out the end of March / early April filers tomorrow.....and then have an explosion of mid April approvals..including ours...on Tuesday!
