Well it seems like ages since yesterday, my blood pressure is down apparently as well

Unfortunately we did not get approved on the spot, our medical results had not come in and a slight complication in the I-864 cropped up
Our sponsor filed joint returns so he needed to send us his W2 to prove his individual income was still high enough to meet the guidelines, he emailed it over to us yesterday and we printed it out (which the CO said was fine if the quality was high)

SMS are scheduled to come pick up that and my passport again today

All the things I was worried about were no big deals, it really was the anti climax! smile.gif
and why is it the COs are so much more chirpy than the consular staff? lol

There was a fair bit of waiting around, it seemed like it was 'Camp America day' at the embassy so all the potential CA wannabes were getting NI visas.. while waiting for my ticket to be called (I was 5009) they saw over 100 NI apps lol (1086 - 1224)

Anyway based on what the CO said we are pretty sure I am good to go, just need those forms in

I still can't believe Kris' is in less than a week. He is going to ask them if he is approved if they don't say. He wants to try and book the tickets when he gets home LOL.. I don't believe they deliver on Saturdays. If you pay for expedited delivery all it does is guarantee that they will deliver before a certain time of day (say 6am if you go to work early). You won't get the visa on an earlier day, just an earlier time of the day they are delivering it anyway.

I got my visa delivered on a Saturday, Nov 4th 2006. My interview was Nov 2nd 06, and i didn't even pay the extra for the expedited delivery! I didn't think they delivered on Saturdays either. tongue.gif

ohh that gives me hope. he actually has an email out to them to find out the specifics. Our biggest thing is.. if it isnt' here by Saturday we dare not book for his flight for that following wed.







My fiance had her Interview on Tuesday May 13th and just received her visa this morning. She paid for the expedited service so that it would arrive before 8am, before she left for work. We have her ticket booked for May 21st. We had called before we sent in Packet 4 to make sure we were sending in all the right documents.

Wow, you've been waiting a long time! Do people who are waiting for a DCF interview wait in a different pile to people waiting for a K1? Or are we all just interviewed by the same people?

Have you chased it up with the Embassy at all, it might worth emailing them.

June 5th is the date the visa lady said on the phone yesterday,still waiting on the actual letter and hope it arrives today,I asked about the medical and she said all the instructions were in the letter,so don't know when I have to do that,presumably some time before the interview. I am in Glasgow so reckon it will be two separate trips to London for me.



You can have your medical the same day as the interview, they will then approve the visa subject to medical results. Good luck

Here is a brief synopsis of Darren's experience (sounds so much like everyone else's so I didn't want to make an entire thread out of it!!!):

Darren arrived for his 9:00 AM visa interview at 8:20 AM. After a little miscommunication by the workers at the outside queue, ten minutes later he was in the building; he showed them his passport and received a number in the 5000's. He was called about 20 minutes later to the payment window to pay for his visa; after that, they sent him to another window where they checked his passport again, took his fingerprints, and checked his paperwork (police certificate). About 20 minutes after that, he was called up for his interview. They checked the fingerprints, administered the oath, had him sign the paperwork forms (DS-230), and they asked him two questions (1. Where did you meet? and 2. Why are you moving to the United States?)

Since he didn't have the correct police certificate (grrrrr...wish the webmaster would update the site), he didn't have to leave his passport. If you have the correct one, you would leave your passport to be sent with your visa and then pay for the courier. We have to send the new police certificate when it arrives through the courier with his passport for processing, and then we will get his visa, passport, and MBE (Mysterious Brown Envelope).

The people he encountered at the embassy were patient and helpful, and he was quite surprised that it took such a small amount of time for the process As everyone says, "It was a little anti-climatic."

His appointment is at 9 AM, so he's going to try to be there by 8:15. We did a test run to the embassy the week while I was there, so he would know what he's looking for...

Since I leave for work at 6:30 AM, he should be finished with the interview...and he'll call me...


its a nightmare getting into london in the rush hour, but most appointments seem early.
