K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMedical Exam
QUOTE (Jon & Jess @ May 16 2008, 10:06 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Hello Again! innocent.gif
I'm a little worried about my medical exam...
I had the examination on May 14th and the doctor told me that he was gonna mail my examination straight to the embassy as soon as he gets the results of my bloodtest back.
He also told me that I could send my Packet 3 back to the embassy that very day.
Great I thought, the sooner I get an interview date the better. blush.gif

But now I'm starting to get worried. helpsmilie.gif It says in Packet 3 not to mail any of the documents that I have to obtain for the interview to the embassy.
It says to bring all the obtained documents to the interview. blink.gif

Has anyone else done it this way?
And if so did it work?
Or should I call the doctor Monday and ask him to mail the examination to me instead so that I can bring it to the interview myself?
huh.gif huh.gif huh.gif

I'm so close and I don't wanna mess anything up now!

Different embassys work in different ways, I would let the doctor send the results to the embassy and have your interview, if the results havent reached the embassy then they will approve subject to medical results.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMedical in London Results
QUOTE (polarsub @ Jun 12 2008, 10:26 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi There,

I had my medical in London two weeks ago today and my interview is set for June 27th. My question is do you get anything through the post to say the medical is ok and that you will not require another chest x-ray as I've heard that sometimes you are called for a second x-ray. I hope this makes sense and basically just need to know if you get a letter to say everything is fine and your results are sent to the embassy or is it a case of no news is good news?

Thanks for you help….

I would say no news is good news, but you can call them to put your mind at rest. I heard from then within two days to say they needed to do them again.

I had my interview 12 Sept. The consulate told me that I was approved but she just wanted to check out one thing on my medical report but it would be ok for me to tell my wife and kids that I was coming home.
I waited over a week before I heard anything. Then yesterday I recieved an e-mail saying that they were returning my passport with no visa in it as my case was still under review.
Does this mean that it's been rejected and they will be telling me by post? Is there anyway for me to appeal against this?
Can someone please help us-we are all absolutely devastated.

G.

Hi Guiness

Sorry to hear this, what I would do is contact the Knightsbridge Doctors if that is who did the medical and ask them to confirm that the medical was fine, if it wasnt they should have contacted you.

If it was me I would want to establish whether it is the medical holding this up or whether it is Administrative Review.

Good Luck

I wrote to Vancouver and they wrote me back. Here's what it said:

Yes, all applicants applying for K-1 or K-3 visa must fulfill the requirements of vaccines even though they are non-immigrant visas. If you are unable to go thru vaccines due to any particular reason then you must advise the panel doctor at the time of your medical appointment. If not then you are required to complete the vaccines requirements prior to the issuance of visa.

Thank you.

Thanks for posting this I wonder if its the same for all countries.

I don't understand it, but apparently even though K1's aren't supposed to have them until AOS, we need them prior to the issuance of a visa. This is just a heads up for anyone who's wondering.

QUOTE (CarolineLovesPaul @ Mar 20 2008, 10:53 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi guys.

I hope you're all doing well. Yesterday my fiancee, Caroline, received notification of the NOA2. I know we have a little time to go before I can leave UK for California, but one thing I need to know is this. When is the best time to apply for the police check? I know that it takes forty days but I also heard (maybe wrongly) that once received that it expires after three months. So I was just wondering if I should apply for it now or wait for a little while longer before proceeding?

Any information would be appreciated.

Many thanks.

Paul.

Hey everyone,

I would assume that my petition is at the NVC or is being sent there and the interview will be coming up shortly. Me and my sweetie would love to come to America together and financially we can do it. I wouldn't mind being present during the interview and after asking the Embassy in Hungary they said I may attend however there might be chances I would be interviewed.

So my question is, being present a good idea? What do you all know about being present during the interview?

Any insights would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Dave you can ring the nvc to see if they have recieved your petition and if they have forwarded it to the embassy yet. Their phone number is 603 334 0700 and quote your uscis reference number they will ask you for the benefiarys date of birth.

Hi all,

Just wanted to share some good news. Never thought this day would come.. My wife got her visa today. (FINALLY ITS OVER).. she had her interview on the 6th of march and was given a blue slip that said her case needed additional processing and the minimum time is 6 weeks. Well, exaclty 3 weeks after her interview she got a call from the embassy saying she needs to send her passport to them and that her visa has been approved. I could not believe it as I thought it was going to take months before she got her visa by reading everyones experience here.. So she sent her passport on the 27th of march and got a call from EX today to come and pick up her passport along with the visa package. So 4 weeks later "VISA IN HAND".. she does not have a common name at all and has not traveled at all before which might be the reason for a quick AP... or it might of been AR.. watever it was its over now thank GOD.. Hopefully everyone who is on AP comes out of it soon.. Don't lose hope and the day will come..

Good luck to everyone and feel free to ask if anyone has any questions...

Ali.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPacket 3 Question
QUOTE (jzoom6 @ Apr 6 2008, 06:02 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Found this using the Search button wink.gif

2) when the DS-230 form is submitted for the same CR-1 visa, should I check the "YES" box at the end of the form which says:
"Do you want the Social Security Administration to assign you an SSN (and issue a card) or issue you a new card (if you have an SSN)? You must answer "Yes" to this question and to the "Consent To Disclosure" in order to receive an SSN and/or card."

I say, yes, that will make it possible to get the SSN card as soon as possible (although it will be a special social security number beginning with 729 thru 733, if that matters to you). However, that being said, do not sit at home waiting for the SS card for very long after arriving in the U.S. Go into the SS office 5-10 days after you arrive with her passport and birth & marriage certificates (with translations), fill out Form SS-5, and for the question "Have you ever applied for or received a social security number before?", check "I Don't Know." They will check the computer to see if the SS card has already been processed, and if not, process your SS-5 number application then and there.

This is probably a strange forum topic but it would be good to know if anyone else experienced the same as me........

I sent all of the above forms 1st class, recorded delivery to the address given on my IV15 form (US Embassy, Immigration visa branch, 5 Upper Grosvenor Street, London, W1A 2JB) over a week ago and on the royal mail website it is saying that they have not been delivered. When I spoke to the Royal Mail they said that items being sent to the embassy take longer to get scanned because of the volume of post. Has anyone else exeperienced this? Is my item there it just hasn't been scanned yet for recorded delivery or should I send another set of forms (luckily I took copies) via Special Next Day delivery????

Sorry if this seems a random post but the comfort is in knowing someone has experienced the same thing as you!

Also, could anyone tell me how soon they got their interview at the London embassy after submitting all their forms?

Many thanks :-)

Firstly you could check by telephoning the DOS they will be able to inform you if packet 3 has been recieved by the embassy, their phone number is 603-334-0700.

From looking at recent timelines interview seem to be a few weeks after recieving packet 3 back from the beneficiary.

Let us start by introducing ourselves... We're Diego and Susan and after having dated 7 years ago, when I moved to Colombia to attend college and my later moving back to the US, we found each other again and are now embarking on our own K1 odyssey. It seems so very long and a lot of work, but at the end it's soooo worth it! Any advice or words of support are, of course, very welcome.

It's fantastic to find so many others who, like us, can relate to all that comes with filing a K1, K3, etc. So, yeah, We have a question that I hope someone here can answer or suggest a solution.

I have my divorce documents from a previous marriage, but they're in Spanish. How should I include these in the initial package to USCIS: Spanish original, just notarized translation, or both?

Thanks to all,
Susan

I have heard people having the medical the same day as the interview, the embassy will then just approve subject to medical results.
