She showed me the dates available, but it all depends on where the ceremony will be( So I did not pay much attention to it). The waiting room had only 1 other person - it wasn't a busy day form them. I waited for 20 minutes and my interview lasted 20 minutes.


Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dance: :dance: :dance: :dance: You are almost at the end of your journey!! :D Did the officer give you any details about the oath ceremony? Was it very crowded in the waiting room? Did you have to wait long before you were called in for the interview?

I passed my interview today. The IO was very professional and courteous.


First, I was asked to remain standing, raise my right hand, and swear to tell the truth. Then the interviewer asked me to sit down and show him my government issued photo ID, passport, and PR Card. We then proceeded to the civic test and I was asked these questions:

1. The idea of self government is in the first three words of the constitution. What are these words?
2. We elect a U.S representative for how many years?
3. The house of representative has how many voting members?
4. Who is the Chief Justice of the United States now?
5. Who is the "Father of our Country"?
6. Name one war fought byy the US in the 1900s?

Second, Writing and reading test? George Washington was the first President. Then she verified the information on my N-400 application and that was it :yes:! She told me i had passed the interview!

I pass my interview today. Thank you VJ!!! IO tells me that we have every month Oath ceremony.

First IO asks: "Do you understand The Oath of Allegiance?" (Yes)
Then she asks me to explain this. (Give up loyalty to different countries. Be loyal to the US. Support the Constitution. Serve the US: fight in the US Army or to do noncombatant service.)
She checks very carefully my passports. I don't have any trips.
And tell me give everything what I have to proof my marriage.
Writing and reading test: What state has the most people? California has the most people.
Civics: 1. what is one right or freedom from the First Amendment? (Speech)
2. Who is in charge of the executive branch? (The President)
3. If the President can no longer serve, who becomes President? (The Vice President)
4. There are four amendments to the Constitution about who can vote. Describe one of them. (Citizens 18 and older can vote)
5. What is one reason colonist came to America? (Freedom)
6. During the Cold War, what was the main concern of the United States? (Communism)

Hi, my fiance and I have been in the K1 process for a year now.  He got his interview date today for october 7th.  He has already purchased a plane ticket for the 16th to come home.

 

After reading horror stories...I have this overwhelming sense of dread.  Im so nervous he will get denied.  I sent him all of the forms and tons of evidence.  I just worry that they will say no.   

 

How many of you have been denied?...any words of encouragement?....what else do i need to do?...

Hi guys, on the CEAC site it says issued for our status. Does anyone know if this means that the visa has been issued? we have not heard anything from the embassy since we sent out the passport? 

I am in the same boat.  It says ours was issued yesterday (interview was monday), but we haven't gotten any word from the courier (DX).

Also, the NVC never sent her the appointment packet - the embassy told her to come and pick it up. Is that standard procedure?


Here in the uk you can go to your doctors and they do a blood test to check what anitbodies you have and then will issue a vaccination certificate, may be worth finding out if that can be done.

The officer asked, how we met, how many times did we meet ....when was the last time we saw each other,,,asked where he was born..etc then he just typed some stuff in the computer, handed him the yellow paper for dhl, placed a sticker on his passport ,,,congratulated him, said his visa was approved and said best wishes for his new life in the US. and that was all. yes.gif

we are so happy!!! I will be leaving for Buenos Aires on monday and will return together! ... cant wait to see my bf..after over 9 months good.gif kicking.gif

Wow, I get the letter on MOnday and by Wednesday not only is it already at the consulate but they are probably sending out packet 3 today already. Things really do move fast after NOA2

Our case was completed Apr 30 and I was getting a tad bit concerned that our interview had yet to be scheduled but we got the good news today. Our interview will be on June 16th. I was so excited I kept thanking the NVC operator over and over until she was laughing. I was so hopeful though that we would get a May interview because June 1st is our 1st anniversary but I am just relieved that we are finally at the last stage.

See, over the past summer i thought she would be here bye Christmas so i demolished the entire master bedroom and bathroom. I installed a huge jetted tub, bamboo floors in the bedroom and topped it off with all new furniture. On Dora's new dresser is a huge pile of gifts from my family. It has been sitting like this for 6 months, waiting for her to complete it. My 3 children (ages 10,8 and 5) are so excited and have been cleaning the house all weekend. They want it to be perfect for her.
My neighbor will watch the kids as i go to pick her up and we will wake them when we get back with hugs and kisses. Then we will all sleep together in the new bed. I am taking Wednesday off work so we can walk the kids to the bus stop in the morning. Then do NOTHING until school is finished.
I do have one strange feeling. After 14 months (Last Jan we decided to marry) i have been at this stupid computer for hours a day, like some of you. I am trying to imagine what it will be like not NEEDING to be online all the time. Of course Dora will webcam with family a lot, but I will not have to worry about the 6 hour time difference in Hungary ANY MORE. Wow, what a ride.

Apparently the K visas dont get put on the automated system, because they go through the nvc quickly usually.

I found the best time to call is when they open which is 7.30am, they are very helpful too.
