USCIS in California received our I-129F petition on 12/6/2007 and I just received our approval on 3/11/2008. It took 97 days to get our approval. Carol does not know yet. I cant wait to tell her the good news smile.gif We were expecting it to take 150 days according to the current timelines.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMarch 11 interview
QUOTE (Dave+Rose @ Mar 12 2008, 09:36 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hey VJers,

I just wanna say thank you to all of you who posted several topics in here. Those helped me a lot in my preparations. I had our interview last March 11 for the K1/K2 visa and we got approved! Here is the story:

March 10 at 11:00 am, me and my daughter left our house in Quezon City and checked in at Riviera Mansion, a small hotel but is nice and my daughter enjoyed the bath tub hehehehe. We spent the rest of the day malling then visiting the Malate Church for help and blessing. At 2:00am of March 11, we prepared for our big day and around 3am, we arrived at the embassy. There were already few people waiting, some were taking nap even lol. Around 4:30, we got in the line to enter the embassy grounds, we were number 5 in line! At 6:15 we were instructed to enter gate 2 where our things were passed into the xray machine. At 6:30, we were called to a counter to submit our DS forms, I had to get off the line and get back again coz I forgot to tick some items about having relatives in the US. I was given a que number 7005, then around 7:30, my number flashed into the screen and so me and my daughter went to counter 19 for the pre-screening. The pre-screener got all the pictures I compiled, the affidavit of support, CENOMAR and NBI. Since I had my papers organized, we did not take long in the pre-screener. We were called after 15 mins for the fingerprint scanning, had to be in line twice as the first time, the computer hanged... I had my fingerprint scanned at one try hehehehhee. Around 8:30, my number flashed to proceed to Window 32, the interview with the consul. The consul was very nice...(and handsome at that hehehehe). He opened the original petition and said: "Outstanding!" He did not ask me a lot, just where my fiance is located then he started describing to be the Washington, DC and right there I knew we were approved. He typed something in the computer and then looked at me and told me and my daughter, "you both are approved" and I asked him for visa pick up which he approved and told me in 24-48 hours I will get my visa. I was not instructed to go to Delbros, I paid my doc verification last Feb. 8. I wanted to jump for joy, now its all behind us now and the preparation for the trip to the US is what I will start working on. We were so happy that I took my daughter at the Hobbit's house for dinner hehehehhehe. She loved the place! God is really good, I have asked for our visa on my bday (March 13) and God is so faithful to give it to me. To all Vjers, thank you so much! Keep on praying and He will answer you.

Hello Guys
I have a slight predicament which I would really appreciate anyones input or advice. We have our wedding booked for mid sept but probably rather foolishly didnt actually send our i129f until mid feb. After posting this on another expat website all of the advice given was that we wouldnt get our visa in time and we should cancel the wedding until we recieve the visa. We recieved our notice of action 2 on the 15th of march(which was a shock as another website said this would take 6 months) and I think we may be ok. Can anyone guide me in timeframes from the NOA2 please. I would really appreciate this as it's something I've been really worried about.
Regards
Stu

Its hard for anyone to estimate when you will get the interview and visa, but can you please timeline.gif This will help others to help you too.

I was able to get through at 11:30 Eastern Time. I think I have seen others who have said they were able to get through after as early as 8 Eastern Time, but I was not able to get through when I called at 7:30 their time. A few people have said calling after 10 pm (EST) works.

I wish their system allowed us to check with the automated system or at least wait on hold for an operator if no one is available immediately. Unfortunately, it doesn't.

Yes and being in the uk its hard to call later, will be middle of the night here lol.

Thanks to all who replied. I have read a few of the threads that have been off topic etc, but tried to stay away from the progress and filing reports.

I totally understand and appreciate that other people have waited a lot longer then me. I never once disputed that fact. What has gotten me in a twist is the seemingly random pattern that the approvals follow. Could I still be waiting when summertime has been and gone, when other people are just speeding through in a matter of weeks? That is why I chose to take a break – so as not to torture myself with the fact that others are just luckier than I am. Not because I believe that I am the only person who is waiting.

I genuinely feel for those people at CSC, I truly do. It sucks that they can't share out the workload or do something to even the playing field a little. However, people there do at least seem to move in some kind of chronological order – from what I've seen (not that I am claiming to be the expert) At VSC there is just no way to judge, and to still be waiting when those who file almost a month after you are approved seems harsh, and unfair.

So there, I said it.

This is why I wasn't going to respond to the earlier comments – because frankly I didn't see the need. But the only reason I posted in the first place was because I've chatted with some lovely folk on here and I just wanted to let them know that I'd be back and where I was gone. Not because I was expecting a pity party or anything similar…..

I would guess it extremely easy to look back in hindsight after you've done all your waiting and say that once it's over you'll forget all about the stress….but try and remember how it felt when you were the one going through the stress.

Anyway, enough said. Wishing speedy approvals to all.

Saffy x

Just because you're 'done' doesn't mean you don't remember.

RJ, its never ending....isn't it? wink.gif

I'm getting stressed out reading about so many early approvals while my case sits by untouched. I don;t think i'm doing myself (or my sanity) any favours by reading everyones updates.

I am happy for all of you who have been approved, and equally dismayed for those at CSC who seem to be in for a long wait....but it's disheartening to see so many people who filed after me get approved.

Before people start to think i'm bitter - i'm going to take a little break from VJ. I'll be back once I get my NOA2, and in the meantime I wish everyone all the luck in the world and lots of best wishes.

Hugs........i'll be back. Hopefully a little more sane..

I completely understand how you feel, I felt the same when newer filers were approved before me, but remain strong and when you get your nao2 which im sure wont be long you wont remember how you feel right now and we can all cheer you on too.

There really doesn't seem to be any pattern to how VSC is approving people. They received my I-129F on Feb 7th and sent out the NOA1 on the same day. It was then touched a couple of times, but they haven't been near it since Feb 24th. People are being approved in record time and others are just gathering dust….

Does anyone know what checks they actually do when they process the petition? I mean Toby's name check etc should be fine. He was in the Marine Corps for 8 years and had an excellent record, but I wondered if having a military background would maybe be a problem.

I'm probably overthinking everything but I only just got back from visiting him and it breaks my heart that I'm back in England. I just wish they'd hurry things up so I can be with him again.

I know we're all in the same boat, but I just felt like a bit of a moan………

VSC is one i sent mine to and i sent my I-129F in the beginning of June and I am still waiting for my approval. my case was finally updated a week ago so hopefully now i will get an approval within 60 days it said so May 1st i should hopefully hear something, but you just have to wait and be patient and your time will come soon. sometimes there is things with your case that you did not know you missed *they said this happened to me* all i can say is have patience and know you are not alone. others are in the same position as you with missing their sweeties *best of luck* smile.gif

I just saw your timeline its awful that it took them 8 months to send you a rfe, I so hope you get your appoval soon youve been waiting so long.

I think some days are easier than others and the day when my NOA2 comes through all this waiting will feel like it was a lifetime ago. I think at the moment it just feels like being in limbo…. I wonder what it is they are doing, how they are choosing which cases to work. How do they prioritise?

Does anyone else feel like (as the beneficiary) they are living in a place that no longer feels like home?

Yes I have a home to pack up at some stage but cant even start on that till i know we are at least approved.

I read a thread yesterday from a Feb appoval expaining how the file was put together, which is all well and good, but it shouldnt matter how the file looks, its the information contained in it that matters.

I agree i havent been touched since the 24th either, I knew it was gonna take some time when i entered into this, and I wouldnt mind waiting if I felt that there was some process but now some are getting approved in 20 days or less and it just doesnt seem fair. They should be working on the oldest files not the newest, its just not right.

I'm actually with you there. If there appeared to be a pattern to the process, and they actually approved people in order of receipt then I don't think I would feel quite so whiny. It's just a bit of a lottery and there are people waiting months for no apparent reason whilst others get approved in a couple of weeks!

And just to make it clear, I don't resent those who have got their early approvals. I'm happy for all of you….happy and envious.

I feel the same we all want to be with our loved ones, im envious of the ones that dont have to wait long, but pleased for them also.

She spent the whole week scrambling for the Medical, Police Certificate and other documents. My support documents were done and sent by UPS Express and should be there by tomorrow. I hope. Cutting it close but don't want to re-schedule interview date. ha ha whistling.gif Thanks to all of you for your support. Saff, just muster all your will power not to check USCIS site too much.... maybe once a day or once every other day or once a week, just to keep your sanity intact. And before you know it... CRIS will have an email waiting for you already. yes.gif

Thats right Tbears, everyone will get them when its the right time for them as You and I did bears, I still wish they would do them in some order and clear the old outstanding ones first. I cant imagine how hard it is for them.

We are finally approved! I woke up, checked email and uscis online stat and there it is, APPROVAL NOTICE! Praise be to GOD who answers prayers in His own perfect time. kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

I know we have not waited as long as others have and though I am very happy with our approval, my heart still cries out for those who have been waiting far longer and also for my all the friends I have met here in visa journey who filed with CSC.... I hope and pray that you will all receive your approvals soon. We will all get our approval, sometimes earlier than others, sometimes later than others BUT we will all recieve it in due time.

Thank you for everyone here who have been a great source of knowledge and inspiration. God bless you all. rose.gif rose.gif rose.gif

That is fantastic news Gaye you so deserve it, if only for the hope and inspiration you give to others, Im delighted for you.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsCurious about how long you've lived with SO.
QUOTE (aravis227 @ Mar 19 2008, 03:19 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
This topic came up on another forum I frequent (mostly they are telling me I'm dumb because I've never lived with my fiance). They are non-immigrationers, I was curious how my situation compared to other people here. We met on-line, have visited several times, voice/video chat every day, but never lived in the same city.

I think it depends on your situation, Jay and I have been having this relationship for 7 years and have visited each other every 6 months, we talk every day on the phone for about an hour, some friends have said you probably spend more time talking to each other than normal people do.lol. He came here in September for 2 weeks and I then went back with him for a month, so that was 6 weeks. So looking forward to spending the rest of our lives together.

Hey

Well I am a self-employed website developer and at the same time in my final semester of a bachelor's degree here in the UK as a mature student. This keeps me pretty busy - I have three assignments due in after the Easter break, then after that three group projects, another assignment then three exams. I am hoping to have everything all done so I can jump right on a plane when college is over in June!

Being busy doesn't really make the waiting any easier, though - I still want my NOA2, and I want it right now!!!!

- Martin

Haha, someone else who is as impatient as me - I love it! lol

I agree though, no matter now busy I am, the niggle in the back of my head wont go away!

I hope you both get them very soon
