Because Iraqis are now required to have a G-passport, we applied to get one months ago for my fiance. When it was received, his name was totally wrong. His middle name was listed as his last name and his last name was absent completely. Also, his first name was spelled wrong.

In March, he requested a correct passport. Today he found out that he filled out the wrong application. We must now wait for the application to be sent back to Korea. Then he must take the 5 hour trip to Seoul to fill out the correct form. Then we must wait for who-knows-how long for the correct passport. Meanwhile, all of our Packet 3 info is finished but we can't request an interview.

My contract ends next month in Korea. I received permission to extend as long as this takes but good god I want to go home (it's been two years) and start my life as a newlywed!

The officer has determined that in order to provide a complete response including the status of the case, the officer will need to prepare a letter for the petitioner and mail it directly to the petitioner. The officer is in the process of preparing the letter. The petitioner may expect to receive the letter in approximately two weeks. The letter will provide status, as well as additional information for the petitioner - information that we do not have here in congressional unit. Will you kindly inform the petitioner that a letter is forthcoming and to look for it."

So, I am thinking I am going to receive an RFE. The file was touched on June 2nd, June 3rd and Friday June 6th and the status on the USCIS website still indicated the petition was not approved yet.

Yesterday, the 7th, I go to my post box and see a letter from USCIS. Figuring it was an RFE, I prepared myself. I opened the envelope and see that is the NOA2! Guess what day it was approved - June 2nd.....
Sure seems pretty strange how the email from the Congressional Inquirires desk goes out the day after the petition was approved indicating that a letter was forthcoming to address the status of the case.......
You wonder sometimes what is actually going on out there in California. So happy to be through with those people.

Thanks Kim...........Now that you have filed my hope is that your journey is so much quicker.....but it is kind of like childbirth....You forget the pain....and only focus on the this new life Oscar and I have.........It is hard for him though.......No work......No children in the home before......I still have 2 here....but he is making friends in the neighborhood.....and we hope soon to have his papers for work......His english is improving.....He now is starting to think in english all the time.......He even had a dream in english.....I speak no spanish to him.....so he hears fast english only......and he is getting better everyday......and he is a great cook.....How lucky I am......I love Peruvian food so I will have to be careful not to eat too much of it......Well good luck too everyone......It is true the whole journey is very very very much worth the wait and pain.........Lora

i thought that at first too. but there are people from all kinds of country that got approved. i thought ours was going to take longer cause my fiance (the USC) is originally from Iran. but then we know of minimum 3 security checks they ran on him before we started anything. he thinks the informations was so clear from previous checks that it made things go faster....
i on the other hand think they might just have the boxes a bit out of order. (like start stacking from left to right in a row, but then taking them from right to left). i find it hard to believe that they deal with soo many files and would spend time on triage countrybased...

but i too noticed there were a lot of mid-feb filers with crazy timelines like ours, while beginning-feb where still pending, and end took just a bit longer...

I'm washing everything. All the clothing is being cleaned. Even everything in the closet, in an effort to make space for Sasha's clothes. Lora, I've got you beat. I've thrown away 8 large garbage bags full of old stuff, two sofas, 2 bags of old clothes, a broken typewriter, old camping gear. I've moved a large fish tank, recaulked the bathtub, cleaned behind the fridge, cleaned the carpet, ceiling fans, cut my hair, washed my Big Willie....(oh, I should mention that's our black Labrador's name). biggrin.gif

......And I'm only half way done! blink.gif

Still need to do all the dusting, clean the stairway, clean out my Explorer, scrub the toilet (fun), clean the oven, microwave, stock the fridge, clean the bedroom....Damn! Where has all the time gone?? And I'm working my job everyday through Sunday. I may not be able to finish, but I'll do my best. laughing.gif And I'm even cleaning in between posts.

My account at USCIS website shows that our case was touched on April 21, 2008.

I imagine this nightmare feeling that has been wearing on me and my fiance is something
that many of you guys here have been through wacko.gif . But I really need some encouraging information
if any of you guys here could provide us!!

Is our situation normal ??
What can we do to make sure that USCIS will process our case eventually??

If they are going to process our case eventually but FOR SURE, I can deal with it.
But what really scares me is the possibilty that our case is just left unnoticed and is never gonna be processed...


Please provide us with any information or advise that might help.

I would try not to worry too much, the fact that your petition was touched in april without a resulting rfe means that your case should be fine, the approvals seemed to have slowed down since we filed in January. It seems they are only just now approving end of March petitions so I would just try and wait a little longer.

At 1:20pm, somebody is buzzing the gate, when I checked who was there, its a guy, and I shouted who are you and replied DELBROS Ma'am!!! I run to the gate to open him and let him get inside the office. I get ID and handed to him. I signed on the receiving sheet and he gave me the packet!!!

With so much joy I kissed the packet were I saw my passport. Very careful reading the instructions on how to open and get my passport. And finally I have my passport with the visa on it.
