Just a bunch of questions related to I130 RFEs, especially as of late with all confusing USCIS messages...

 

For those that have knowledge or have experienced...

 

Is there any difference in what they are really asking for if the RFE message on your status says "additional evidence" versus "initial evidence"?  Anyone with experience want to share what they were asked for and what their status said?

 

Also has anyone gotten I130 approval based simply on marriage certificate, no supporting evidence such as photos, financials, emails/phones etc...bare minimal marriage cert only... 

Yes I did, I send just what the paperwork ask for and noting else.  And I got my I-130 approved on 24 Sept 13 without any other document.

They said they have received our case from USCIS on Oct 14 and to call back in 20 business days for the case number to be assigned.
 
They have given me different answer each time I called ranging from 'call back in 8 weeks' to 'it takes 20 business days' to 'call back by the end of this week' (which was last week).


Wow! I got mine the day after they receive it. My PD was 1 Apr 13. Just keep calling :-)

I noticed your NOA2 is dated Sept 24 and got your case number at NVC on Oct 9.
 
My NOA2 is dated Oct 8 and I still haven't gotten my case number yet.
 
I have called NVC a couple of times last week and this week. Should I be calling them like everyday?
 Yes you should call everyday, I called and got my number given to me over the phone. What did they say to you when you called?

Good luck!  I was hoping for that, but I think I'm too hopeful.  Since your paperwork is all there, you have a good chance of having him home for Christmas!  That would be fabulous!  I've heard the same...it seems they're slllooooowwww....  but hopefully you're processed super quickly!!!  good.gif star_smile.gif

Thanks jmack!  That DID work.  Now my IV fees show as PAID.  Awesome!!!  Both AOS & IV are paid.  Now I'm just waiting on the hubs to send that packet.  I guess it's going via FedEx tomorrow.  dancin5hr.gif  Now we will hope for no checklist!

Glad I can help. Both my AOS and civil documents are at NVC. Was told they got a lot in so should hear something in about three weeks. I hope it's early so I can have my husband home for December. ????????

I paid the IV fee yesterday and today am getting a new error message when I try to sign in, as follows:  "Sign In Failed
The selected Case Number and Invoice Identification Number combination you entered do not match our records. Please try again or click on the Contact the NVC hyperlink if you have forgotten your Case Number or Invoice Identification Number."
 
Should I assume that this is another one of the typical error messages because they are inputting my IV payment info?  It is definitely the correct info that I'm using to try to sign in.  Triple checked it.  Anyone else gotten this or recognize it?  


Try closing the the internet browser all the way out. And open a new one! I had that happen to me once before and this seem to work.

Now is waiting time.

 

Go ahead and send in your civil documents (i.e Original document (i.e  marriage cert, birth cert, police report) as well, or your be waiting for a while.

We were just approved on Nov 29th. Have not received our NAO2 yet.  But my question is when should I have my husband get his police Cert. He said they are only valid for 30-45 days??

Depend on your country. UK are good for 1 year but NVC like them to be no older than 6 months old.

Thanks for the reply... My joint sponsor is my mom and dad they have here the copy of W2 can i just recopy this one and send it to them or you'd prefer to go to IRS website for a new W2

If you use the W2 you have to also send the tax return form they file as well for those years.  The W2 is not enough to prove that they file their taxes. I would have them get copy of they tax transcripts if they do not have them.

I would the I-864EZ if your just sponsoring your spouse without any dependent (s). If you don't have your W2 login into the IRS site and request a copy of your last three years tax transcript.  NVC prefer these.

I think I am confused about putting N/A.
 
For i-864 Part 3 (I am sponsoring only my wife) so I check part 3.1 and then I thought Family 1 to 5 (Part 3.2 to Part 3.6) should be left blank. Should we put N/A in the field the asks for family member 1 through 5 and all info for each family member? Also part 6, I am using only my income, so Person 1 through Person 4 are all empty. Should we put not applicable there?





If you are just sponsoring your wife, use the I-864EZ and put N/A or none. DO NOT LEAVE any question blank. If have number to input, make sure you put 0 and don't leave blank. Do this and you should not receive a checklist. Each checklist you receive will add on 20-30 working days of additional waiting for case complete.

The top 3 line is the principal applicant and the agent lines would be the person spousing the applicant or whoever you want.
