US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionSt. Lukes medical exam in Manila

The medical will take most of the day and vaccinations are generally given on the following day.

She should bring her appointment letter and the form from the packet that needs to be completed. She should also bring her passport.

There is no additional charge for the vaccinations.

don't forget the to bring also a xerox copy of appointment letter from then 2x2pics 4 pieces.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDivorce Decrees

Would this be the same thing as a divorce certificate. It has a gold foil seal on it and states where we were married, what day and the day the marriage dissolved. Is this what I need to bring to my interview???

Hi,

I sent for certified copies of my divorce decree...they came with a gold foil seal. The seal may be different from place to place...some courts, or departments of vital records may use a raised seal, or other type of seal. Usually it called a final decree of divorce or final decree. Did you not include a copy in your petition?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionCENOMAR

I just want to know what is the difference between the Php 1,200.00 and the Php 185.00 CENOMAR?

According to the NSO staff the one thousand two hundred pesos has a red ribbon and will pass thru Malacañang.

Will US Embassy accept the CENOMAR without the red ribbon? ( I'm saving money for christmas :D )

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Salamat,

Lily

Hi,

The cenomar should cost only 180-200 php. It is absolutely NOT needed to get it certified...this is a waste of time and money. The cenomar comes from the NSO and so this is all thats needed. If the embassy wishes they will request thier own copy from the NSO.

US Embassy and Consulate Discussion? About paying the Manila interview fee

Thanks everyone! You guys & gals are great!
Yes I forgot to mention our visa is a CR-1.

Does that mean we don't have to pay the extra 100.00? Wow that would be great!

Jazzy...
Yes, she is in Lapu Lapu. Our case was completed Dec.1 Hoping for a march or April interview.

Good luck to you all and Merry Christmas!

dims1,

oh..I see she's from lapu2 I'm familiar with the background in your photo. As I remember, my husband told me before no more fees involve when I receive packet from embassy not like the k-1 process. Hopefully we will meet your wife before the interview date, we are expecting March and April too...lol I'm always in SM doing real estate job. Good Luck!

IMBRA Special TopicsIMBRA affecting K-3's
Hi everyone,

I was just reading through the new I-129f instructions and form and came across they may give an indication as to wether or not IMBRA affects the spousal petition.

In the instructions, first page #3. Compliance with International Marraige Broker Regulation Act(IMBRA). it states the following..."If you met your fiance or spouse through the services of an international marraige broker, ........"

I'm just going by thier language here, but they do say fiance or SPOUSE...that would indicate to me that it affects the K-3 also......lets hope not, but according to the instructions the K-3 applicants have to answer the "imbra" questions also on the new form.

IMBRA Special TopicsStill no imbra RFE for K-3
We are a bit concerned. To date we have not received our imbra RFE when others that filed after us have thiers already. I tried calling the ncsc number but cant seem to get a live operator. Maybe i'm not being patient enough...but i see everyone else getting their rfe's....so where's ours? I'm starting to think I should just send them the RFE info to include in our petition. Is there another number to call?

Asia: East and Pacificanybody got married in the philippines, help me!! anybody!

Yep, the high mayor. Our wedding was quite a spectacle...a community wide event...first of it's kind in her small very rural village...and first held at a delightful 'native house" that had just been completed for use by tourists...very elegant affair, but mostly Western style...cost was...well...let's just say it was VERY reasonable...actually amazing. The entire experience was pure Heaven... :D

Hi,
Sounds wonderful!!!!...yes the cost is VERY reasonable in the Philippines....ours was spectacular as well. My wifes from Cebu, which province is your wife from?...
I only mentioned about the mayor because it can be a judge or any other official designated to preform the ceremony.

Next, get to the civil registrar office at the town/city/banaguay where you plan to marry and apply for the license, you will need parental consent signed if fiance is 21 or younger, you need passport, birth certificate again and also divorce decree (you won't get this back), there are some small fees to pay and you will be required to sign up for the family planning session, if you plan civil wedding is best to meet the local mayor because he will be the marrying official, he will also ask questions.
You will wait at least 10 days after applying for the license (even in very small community there was no bending the rules), after which you will go back to the LCRO and chase everything down again, pay more fees, have the documents signed and then be sure that your marriage date has been set. I had the family planning the same morning as my wedding (it was all of 10 minutes, and was scheduled just for us, with others invited to attend since it was NOT the normal scheduled day of the week).

The local Mayor?....we had a judge perform our civil wedding which was arranged through the civil registry. We were not required to take any class or seminar. Also you should have got your divorce decree back...they don't keep it. Also the rules bend very easy in the Philippines if you know who to talk to...:)

Asia: East and Pacificanybody got married in the philippines, help me!! anybody!

i am a us citizen (naturalized), im getting married to my filipina gf.
i am going to the phillipines to get married there on sept 23, i believed that we have to wait for 11 days before we can be married (civil wedding).
my problem is, i have to be back here in the states by oct 21 bcoz thats the only vacation time my employer gave me.
within this time frame ( 1 month) do you think i can finish up with all the necessary things that im supposed to have like (marriage contract, seminars etc etc etc.????) so that when i come back here in the states i can eventually start filing for my spouse visa petition?
guys i need help here , pls!
thanks.

Hi there,

First...calm down...take a deep breath...ok good....:)...now, its seems you will have plenty of time....i had only 13 days in the philippines when i got married in april and came home with everything i needed.

The waiting time is 10 days (not 11) from when you get the marraige licience. In order to get the licience you first need to go to the embassy in either manila or cebu and get "affidavit of legal capacity to marry"...bring with you a cert. copy of your BC, cert. copy of any divorce papers you may have, passport...your fiance will need to bring her bc, cert. copy of any annulment decision (if any), and id. Once you get the affidavit you can go get the marraige licience.

You wait ten days...then you can marry. After the wedding the civil registrar usually can have the marraige contract ready in about a week...you can always "pay" for faster service..(wink wink).....once you have the civil registry MC...and make sure you get plenty of certified copies...you have what you need to file the petitions as far as the marraige goes. Your wife can go to the nso with the mc to get the NSO MC which will take some time....but you don't need that for the petitions.

Hope this helps

Asia: East and PacificNo marriage license philippines...no marriage?
Well, about us I got my CENOMAR from NSO stating that I'm still single though I was married. When we filed our k-1 petition we thought that the marriage was not on record, we forgot to check the civil registrar office. That's the reason we we're denied on our k-1 journey. We filed annullment right away and we got the high paid attorney to made it fast. NSO sometimes are not realiabe specially if they do the manual processing.

Asia: East and PacificPhilippine call centers ect ect

I don't know where you're getting your information or misinformation. US companies are paying USCIS to process petitions within 15 days which has nothing to do with visa processing. And it's not taking anywhere near 6 months to get an interview in Manila.

I beg to differ...it IS taking up to and exceding 6 months to get an interview...the k-1 seems to be moving a bit faster than the rest....but if its not 6 months its close!!

hello,

I'm engaged in real estate business here in the island of cebu. We market all different high end subdivision, low cost housing for the poor filipino people and condominiums, for a very affordable payment scheme. As I know, as long as a foriegner married to a filipina he can buy property as much as he can afford and start a business anytime they want. Cos base on my experienced lots of foreign retirees now, investing there money thru buying farms, beaches and resorts here in the philippines and we can assist them preparing there papers for there businesses too. Hopefully, I can help anyone here soon if somebody are planning to have business or planning to buy property particularly in Cebu City area... ....lol...free adds...thanks
