US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionManila Embassy Interview

Hi,

There is no need to call or fax embassy about extentions of the noa2. They automaticly extend it past the 4 months. The manila embassy is the busiest in the world and this is routinely done, they realize it usually takes longer than 4 months and so automaticly extend it.

Jazzy

Can you give us the source of your information?

Hi,

Well, for now my husband is on his DART night...We can give the information soon as he arrive. We'd been through a lot of this process and I know he knows, what he is talking about. He research everything...all information before he posted in every forum.

Hi everyone,

Just venting a little frustration....I called the NVC today to see if our CR petitions, which were documentarily approved oct 17 had been given an interview yet...and of course nothing yet. However the lady at the NVC said they will have ebruary dates available in after january 15th....this makes no sense...i've already seen the february dates out and that would leave alot of time to plan before the interview...since when did the embassy ever give only one month notice....ok....done venting....its just we would like to plan my trip there for the interview......if there are any CR-1/2 that have interviews scheduled...how much notice did you recieve? On another note....kind of a sad day...its exactly one year ago today we had our k-1 interview...and it was denied for annulment paper reasons....:(

Jazzy, based on the timelines, it is taking an average of 5 months to set interview date for CR-IR.

Updating timeline of tamara and Gobdogman and to welcome Burrito to the thread. And a special "welcome back" to the list, Jazzy. I expect to welcome myself back to this thread in 2-3 weeks once I receive our NOA2 (or am I being overly optimistic, seeing that CSC is very slow).

Hi all,

Anyone here know exactly what papers the NVC sends with ds-230 for the philippines. We are doing the cr-1/cr-2 and just paid the IV bill....we should be able to send the ds-230 next using the short cuts but i'm not sure exactly what papers to send as the philippines is on there list of countries that need the part 2...so if anyone has done this step and can tell me exactly which forms and documents i need i'd appreciate it.
Thanks,

Asia: East and PacificCFO SEMINARS
Hi,

"first course"? she doesnt need the cfo to get her passport, only to leave the country, there's only one seminar needed. As the others here have said, she needs her bc, other form of ID, any annulment or divorce papers and perhaps other proof of relationship. Cebu is easy if you have required papers. You will have to return after the visa is issued to get stamp in passport.

Jazzy

This is a very helpful and encourageing site! Thanks to everyone in here!
Oh, now's the hard part, waiting for interview date.
We recieved our NOA 2 on Dec. 13, 2006 with Case #MNL2006845129,
saying they will send to Manila soon. My sweetheart has not heard a word
or recieved packet 3 mail from them. It's okay..I need to take this time and really prepare
the support I-134 papers and continued evidence of our romance, lol. Gonna add addtional
things now that I've read some of the comments you folks are saying. She's now going to Cebu (by boat, plane, train or swim) for the CFO course. Wishing her a safe trip there of course! She hopes to take first course
then return back home to pick up her passport.

Asia: East and PacificHow on earth?
Hi,

As far as western union goes...the rates are $16 for 400 and under to the philippines. What are the rates for xoom?

tway.....$6?...not to the philippines...minimum of $16 for any money in minutes....the only way to do it cheaper is to have the money direct deposited to a PI bank account then they charge 13 dollars...but it takes 3 business days.

James shortcuts are linked directly to the USCIS forms or the foia.state.gov/FORMS sites (whichever is applicable) and the current forms that are available.

What i meant to ask was about the cover sheet, authorization for release of tax data and new nvc instuctions...all relating to I-864

National Visa Center (Dept of State)CAS COMPLETED!!

I'm guessing now that we wait until we are scheduled for the interview. There is an online interview appointment link on the US Embassy Manila immigrant visa page where u can plug in the case number and get the interview date once it is scheduled.

Take a look at the very lengthy manila embassy thread on embassy and consulates forum for some recent and very interesting and logical information about case number assignment and interview priorities. I just checked our case assignment date, and yes indeed, sept 22 is the 265 day of 2006, so the 500+ 265 is indeed 765 which is our case number (2006765XXX). I guess the three numbers after the year change every day, so there are much fewer cases in que than I first thought. If that date is in fact the priority date for scheduling interviews and they are now scheduling interviews in jan 2007 for case numbers in the 730s and 740s, then we have a very good shot at a feb or mar 2007 interview, which we had prayed so hard for. I'm not about to assume that we'll make it just yet, but instead I'll continue to trust in God as we have through this entire process. You know, we did NOA1 to case complete in under FIVE months!!! That is amazing!!!

Hey everyone,

I don't mean to b a downer but i wouldn't count on an interview anytime before april or may. We have a 729 number and still no interview date...we were documentarily approved on oct. 17 and put in the queue in manila...NVC still hasnt sent the documents there. Also with cr-1 for the Philippines its the NVC that sets the interview date. Right now it seems its taking about 5 to 6 months from the time your case is complete to get the interview...again sorry to be a downer...just trying to put some reality on it.

Hi Francel,

I did everything single sided....don't know where you saw it should be double-sided....single side is fine..that way when arrainged in the packet you send each page is visable as they thumb through it.

Jazzy

Dear jazzy, :)

I would like to do the same thing you did.

Did you print the DS 230 forms as double-sided (Back to back) or just single sided).

I'll follow whatever you did.

From Jamie's shortcuts in I-864 forms, it said to print as Double-sided. I followed that. But there's no instruction on how to print the DS 230.

So I'll just follow however you printed yours.......May I know? Thank you jazzy.

Congratulations! And goodluck on February.

Be blessed!

Hi,

The online forms are fine...we used them with no trouble as many people here do..yellow boxes are ok.

Jazzy

Hi All, :)

I am petititioning my PARENTS (IR5).

I'm presently waiting for the DS 230 to be generated by NVC.

Can anyone tell me if the actual DS 230 form (Application for Immigrant visa) you got in the mail from NVC was double-sided (back-to back) or just single sided?

Was it printed in color or just plain black/white? I noticed that the downloadable forms have yellow margins under the names.

Should I print the DS 230 exactly the same way.....same color?

I am going to use Jamie's shortcuts and download the DS 230 from the Dept Of State website.

Thank you and I'd appreciate any kind of help.

i want to know how to generate barcode without getting the idautomation stamp under it. also how what category is parents case cr1 or ir thanks

Generate the barcode, then copy and paste it into something like MSPAINT and edit the barcode, simply cut it from the bottom

hI,

Simply cutting it from the bottom won't work....the barcode wont be the correct size....when they started putting the idautomation stamp at the bottom it seems that it also altered the size of the barcode (hieght)...not sure how to remedy this.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresquestion about 5year old kid

Filing - Two Petitions are Required

You must first file an immigrant Petition for Alien Relative, form I-130 for your spouse with the USCIS Office that serves the area where you live. The USCIS will send you a Notice of Action (Form I-797) receipt notice. This notice tells you that the USCIS has received the petition.

You next file Petition for Alien Fiancé(e), form I-129F for your spouse and children. Send the I-129F petition, supporting documents and a copy of the Form I-797 receipt notice to this Department of Homeland Security USCIS Address on their web site.

Good luck and this is all you need to do until the AOS since the children have Derivative Status. I got this information from http://travel.state....s_1315.html#10c

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNew question on I-130-129F

From FAQ at the top of the page

10.3)...When starting the K3/K4 process, must I submit an I-130 for our children when I submit the I-130 for my spouse?
A..It is not required to send an I-130 petition for the children when you first submit the I-130 for your spouse as part of the K3/K4 process. However, it is highly advisable to do so, in order to avoid complications and delays during the Adjustment of Status process. The children will not be able to complete the Adjustment of Status without an I-130 petition being approved.
Keep in mind also that you might opt for Consular processing of the immigrant visa. If separate I-130 petitions have not been submitted on behalf of the children, this option is not available to them.

I am also a little confused, as going by your timeline your wife succesfully obtained a K-1 visa and has already entered the US??

Sorry i need to update the time line...we had to start over...the k-1 was not approved...paper work problem with jasmins annulement...its now fixed and we are now married.

HI again, I have another question....on both forms I-130 and 129f it asks if you have ever filed a petition for this or any other alien (yes or no) give place and date of filing and result........we previously appied for K-1 visa and were denied at embassy because my wifes previous marraige had not been properly annuled...that is now corrected and we are now married and applying for k-3/k-4. Do i answer yes to this question? and what do i put down for place and date of filing? I filed in the USA, embassy manila and what date to use, the date i sent the petition, the date they recieved, the date the embassy recieved?...what are they asking for with this...and what result do I put down...denied? no petionable relationship(as the embassy letter stated)?..i dont want this to delay things if i answer the wrong way.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresInitial K3 Filing Questions
venice surfer,

For the attachments, make sure each attachment is signed and dated by the appropriate applicant. Make 4 copies, one for each page of the G-325a's, insert each attachment copy behind each page of the form...DO NOT use staples for anything!! Acco fasteners are best...this goes for the plastic bags your using for the photos also...we used zip-lock bags..punch 2 holes and put them on top of the I-130 form.

for "this form is submitted in connection with application for"...check the box that says "other" then specify..."I-130" for both you and spouse.

Don't print double sided...they prefer single sided, its easier to locate the info while perusing your application.

White paper is fine, color isnt needed.

Hope this helps.....good luck

southernchic,

You thought wrong.

Yodrak

I thought that both K-3 and K-1 visa could get a temporary EAD stamp at JFK.

Or a nicer way to say it would be.....JFK only gives temporary EAD stamps to K-1 visa holders, K-3 visa holders must apply for one. Also JFK is only suppose to issue EAD stamps to NY state residents, however that policy is often not practiced.
