US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionNeed some help

My fiancé filed the I-129F and he put my son’s name so now that we have an interview appointment on June. Do I still need to fill up the DS-156 and DS-157 for my son? Is it okay if I bring my son to my medical appointment? My son is 2 years old now already. Should my son needs to have a medical too ? Anybody have an advice for me? It’s been really stressful...I can't wait for this to be over :help: :help: :help: :help: :help: :help:

I did both for my son....
He needs a medical, we had ours together.

You mean I also need to fill up the DS-156 and DS-157 for my son? My fiance still sleeping right now I really want to ask him. But thanks for quick respond.

Just got off the phone with the wife, she just woke up. It's 6:53. Her medical interview appointment is at 7:00. What happens if you're late?

its better to be late than never. i'm sure st. lukes still accomodate her even if she's late a couple of hours. they are open 7a.m till 5pm.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionQuestion on biometrics appt. for wife and step daughter
Hi all,

We quickly recieved the NOA for biometrics for my wife after filing...it was for the 19 of march at bronx asc. I had not recieved one for my step daughter/ filed on same petition. I called 800 number and the man said "we don't do biometrics on children under 14. Then i got a biometrics appt. in mail for my step daughter yesturday for the 26 of March. she is 8 by the way.
So my question is if i bring my step daughter to my wifes appt. will they do both so i dont have to make 2 trips to the city? theres not enough time to send letters back and request to be rescheduled. Also wifes appt is for 2:00pm....if i get there first thing in the morning will they see us early? does the time on appt. really matter? anyone with experience with this?

thanks....Jazzy

Philippineswho has some question during interview

please shared to me who has some question during interview at the embassy manila which is IMMIGRANT CATEGORY CR1/IR1...
THANKS
jarl

hello the first screener ask lots of questions during interview (filipino consul)..about your relatinship with your husband and everything...where did you meet and how many times he visited in PI. be confident enough to answer cos lots of tricks during the interview. the final screener the american consul is just simple questions like who is your petitioner and where he works...that's the usual questions they ask...there's nothing to be worried about during interview as long as your relationship is genuine. just wear a big smile.

Philippineshello jazzy

Jarl:

Please consider using the PM function to address individual members versus creating thousands of threads asking a question of one specific VJ member. OK, the thousands of threads is an exaggeration, but you get the point. It's completely unnecessary IMO when you have the tools to send an individual message.

Cheers!!!

Sheriff Uling

p.s. - No offense is meant by this post, and you have the liberty to do whatever you please.

hi if you are in AR the 221g paper that they gave you... tells you what exactly your going to do. when they returned our passport and i got 221g form i was depressed and asked the lady what to do...so right away i sent all they need but i advise everyone here... not to send in express mail if you want your case to be attended right away submit it personally if possible.

Philippinesafter interview of USEM CR1

i just want to ask about who is CR/IR Category after interview.. then the last window call ur name ... if u guys receive like this form ...

whats CR/IR stands for?

jarl we we're in cr-1 visa and i got 221g form (AR) because they need my daughter's baby pics but we we're fine, dont worry... much as long as you have genuine relationship with your husband you will be fine. look at our timeline you can figure out how long we waited to recieved our visa.

as i understand CR1/IR1 VISA is spousal or immidiate family visa (IMMIGRANT VISA).

you are applying cr-1 visa which is no need of submitting the 2x2 pics and ds forms....not like k-3 and k-1....the 2x2 pics you submitted to st lukes is all they need for your visa soon. hope this would help for your confusions. :star:

PhilippinesFlights, Expenses, Hotel, in Manila related to interview

My fiancee is from Cebu. Her medical exam in Manila is July 26, her interview at the US Embassy is August 2. I am trying to figure out the best ways to get thru all of this and get her here without spending a million pesos to get it done. She really wants me there for the interview to support her, but that would involve being in the Phils from August 1 until her visa is in her hands (I assume back in Cebu) ... maybe a 10 day trip at minimum for me. From those that have been thru this before, can you give me some advice?

1. She will probably fly to Manila with her aunt and a girlfriend. Where should they stay that is a decent place, not expensive, yet close to St. Lukes and to the US Embassy? I'm assuming they should stayover in Manila between the medical exam and the interview, am I thinking right?

2. If I go, how much of all of that should I be there for? My preference would be to let her go thru the interview with the support of her aunt and girlfriend, then fly back to Cebu with them, then fly here alone. Actually, if money was no issue and if I had all the time in the world, I would love to be with her every step of the way. Particularly the flight post-visa process to the USA. What are you thoughts regarding all of this?

3. Depending on the decisions made about Number 2 above, when should I book my flights? and her flights? any tips on where to book the flights and best ways to get that done? how about the problem with not knowing for sure when her visa is actually in her hands and she is definitely ready to fly?

As you can see, I have a million questions. But I am confident someone on this forum has dealt with this before and can give me advice on what to do and what not to do. Thanks and the best to you all!

I'm from cebu too....if she wants to fly in a cheapest fare...try to look cebu pacific they have promotions 50%off back and forth. then juliano hotel (850pesos) per night, tropical hotel (900pesos per night)and southern cross hotel 1200pesos per night) are cheapest hotel just a walking distance from st. lukes and u.s embassy clean and decent. interview is just quick and easy...well nervous is normal...lol...friend and auntie is not allowed inside st. lukes and u.s embassy too.....i understand its hard to be alone in manila but she needs to strong and independent.. GOOD LUCK.

PhilippinesCENOMAR??

well guys im back lol! anyway i have a few question for the CENOMAR. its like this, im annuled from my 1st marriage.
i went to the NSO to get a copy of my birth certificate and a copy of cetificate of marriage with the remarks that im annuled and also a copy of CENOMAR, but im wondering why in my cenomar it says m still married. so is this normal? i asked them they said i just have to show them the annonated certificate of marriage. is this true? or i should indorse the whole thing to them again? coz i indorsed my annulment papers in manila and m trying to get CENOMAR here in the province. any advice? thanks!!

don't worry about cenomar as long as you are annulled and have the certificate of finality you will be fine. be ready with all your annullment papers to present the consul...i mean the decesion, the annotated certificate of marriage, certificate of finallity. its good idea if you ask NSO manila main office about cenomar and indorse again your papers to them cos your applying fo k-1 but the consul dont ask cenomar at all.

PhilippinesCenomar

I have noticed a few posts with many replies about the Cenomar so I have some questions. Do they review all Cenomars? If they don't how do they choose who they check and don't check? Or do they check those that have been married before and don't check those that have never been married?

Thanks in advance.

Take Care,
Charlie

Manila Embassy doesn't need the cenomar at all. They knew already if you are married before or not....no one can lie about that manila embassy has direct contact or a liason officer to check NSO Office about the background of any filipino applying for a visa. But its good if you prepare your CENOMAR too.

I have read here somewhere that SLEC will be needing it. Am I in trouble? I'll be taking my med exam this coming Monday & Tuesday. Anyone here with the same experience? Please share.

As I knew....YES...you need that medical records. I have a friend who went for a medical in st. lukes and she was required to bring all her medical operation reports and certificate. Try to call st. lukes in your case.

Philippinesphilppines business opportunities ?

One of the businesses, my fiance and I are looking forward to do in the next years here in the PI, is the rental apartments/houses in the south side of the metro and in Sabang, Puerto Galera (where bunch of americans stay). The reasons why are: First, I'd been witnessing this business from my parents and I can say that they've never been in the red on this business. Second, they get monthly income/payment. The more units they make the more money they get in return. $20,000 wont be enough though..

This is just our plans and just wanted to share it with ya. Nonetheless, my fiance still wants me to get a Realtor-related course so we can handle this business much preferable to what we have just seen and witnessed.

Good luck!

In 20k dollar for me you can start a small piggery somewhere in bacolod (i mean province area) and have a small (payag) house to monitor your business all the time. poultry or piggery is a very good business. I wont recommend sari-sari store or small grocery its not a good business in the province lots of filipino wants (utang) but they don't pay....lol...(its a shame for us being a filipino but that's true) real estate or apartments for rent is the most booming business in the philippines but you need to have a big money to start.

Philippinescultural differences

that's the misconception of some other filipina (thinking that every american is rich or at least that every american "can" buy anything)... the thing though is, its because for example, you bring her to a 6 star hotel  lol... and you didnt explain it to her that its a "vacation" thing, that you "save" money for it, so you and especially her can enjoy the great amenities... she'll understand it if your really explain it to her. the visa process, your trip/s, her plane tickets to be here, and by the end of it, we'll be broke...
although i bet she'll see the real life/situation once she gets here... we filipinas are hard working though, we can help you out, and its worth the spend (aheeem) kidding

when i was still a kid i was thinking that all american (foreigners) are rich. ..lol.. when i was engaged in real estate (in cebu) i can identify already who are rich and average american (foreigners) are. mostly filipina ladies (sorry if i offended...lol... i am just being honest...by observation) they think that all american can really afford the 5star hotels, nice car and everything....lol.(just in one click )..when i met my husband...during our first meeting we discussed where to go and if he can afford those stuff and everything for our vacation.( he was honest of finances and what he can afford)...we went to different places but i need to be sure that we wont stay in a very expensive hotel cos i dont want him to think that i am taking advantage or whatsoever....i uderstand how hard he earned those money and plane tickets just to visit me here 3 times before i finally got in his side. about money matters (supporting parents , kids, sometimes siblings and relatives...lol)  yes......its hard for american to understand this cos they are financially independent since the age of 18. one of our culture that we need to be discussed thouroughly with them... what to do.... since this is what we want helping our love ones in the philippines. i know its hard for us filipina to ignore people we love cos we are a very family oreinted country. for me, i think discussion, acceptance and understanding between cultural and individual differences can help a lot in a relationship with day to day hard work to have a successful marriage.

For me it is trying to understand what she really means when she says things like 'ok then don't' or 'its up to you'. Other than that things are really good. She doesn't have a good concept of savings but we are working on that. She sure loves to spend every dime she makes :P

hhahahahahaha....funny. ..sounds like me. ...lol......that's how we grow up......the (ok) all the time...... Todd told me...honey its not up to me....its up to us....lol.. ....anyway..that's how filipina are.....we're working for that tooo...cos i used to say.....its all up to you... .i love shopping (woman's nature) and he is more on savings and investing...very particular with every dime.....hahahhahahaha.. :innocent: .but i love the way he is....its for our future though..(he's tihik) ...lol....i got upset easily with small words and things he say (though he doesn't mean it) but he know's how to made me smile right away.... other than we're both fine and still working for the cultural differences we have.......

PhilippinesGoodbye Letter
QUOTE (island_princess @ Aug 24 2007, 05:05 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
GOODBYE LETTER

Dear Wife:

I'm writing you this letter to tell you that I'm leaving you forever.
I've been a good man to you for seven years and I have nothing to show
for it. These last two weeks have been hell. Your boss called to tell
me that you quit your job today and that was the last straw.*

Last week, you came home and didn't even notice that I had a new
haircut, had cooked your favorite meal and even wore a brand new pair of
silk boxers. You ate in two minutes, and went straight to sleep after
watching all of your soaps. You don't tell me you love me anymore; you
don't want sex or anything that connects us as husband and wife. Either
you're cheating on me or you don't love me anymore; whatever the case,
I'm gone.

Your EX-Husband

P.S. Don't try to find me. Your SISTER and I are moving away to West
Virginia together! Have a great life!

Dear Ex-Husband

Nothing has made my day more than receiving your letter. It's true
that you and I have been married for seven years, although a good man
is a far cry from what you've been. I watch my soaps so much because
they drown out your constant whining and griping. Too bad that
doesn't work. I DID notice when you got a hair cut last week, but the
first thing that came to mind was "You look just like a girl!" Since
my mother raised me not to say anything if you can't say something nice,
I didn't comment . And when you cooked my favorite meal, you must
have gotten me confused with MY SISTER, because I stopped eating pork
seven years ago.

About those new silk boxers: I turned away from you because the $49.99
price tag was still on them, and I prayed that it was a coincidence that
my sister had just borrowed fifty dollars from me that morning. After
all of this, I still loved you and felt that we could work it out. **So
when I hit the lotto f or ten million dollars, I quit my job and bought
us two tickets to Jamaica . But when I got home you were
gone. Everything happens for a reason, I guess.

I hope you have the fulfilling life you always wanted. My lawyer said
that the letter you wrote ensures you won't get a dime from me. So
take care.

Signed,

Your Ex-Wife, Rich As Hell and Free!

P.S. I don't know if I ever told you this, but my sister Carla was
born Carl.
I hope that's not a problem.

Hmm, I'm sure it was a "tongue in cheek" offer, Sheriff. How is Jhen? Is she working now?

Hi, Jazzy. I'm happy for you. I sure miss receiving a pay check every 15th and 30th. If I were back in the Philippines, distribution na ng 14th month bonus namin at this time of the year and then 1st week of December Christmas bonus naman and then January Presidential bonus naman. Waaaah, I miss my bonuses. I asked Doug if they get Christmas bonus here, naku hindi pala uso dito yun and so wala kayong Christmas gift lahat crying.gif

Thanksgiving is around the corner and I don't know how to cook turkey so Doug decided that the best thing to do is to buy ready-to-eat turkey dinner from Fred Meyer, our local grocery store. Ligtas na naman ako sa luto hehehe. Ang galing ko talaga magpalusot devil.gif

thanks..Cor....yeah...i was askig him the same if they get a 13th month pay...mid year bunos...clothing allowance but unfortunately wla silang ganyan.....i was expecting christmas bunos even PRO-rate lang naman hahahhahaa...only in the Philippines lang yan!...but he said there are certain companies and state workers got there bunoses but its not a normal practice here.

Thanksgiving is coming its Gracey's b-day tooo she will be 7 and soo excited to have a bunch of presence ...we are so busy what to do here its a double celebration for us. Anyway....feel ko lang mag post....lol.....and mag update what happeningt to us here....me and Todd still breathing the essence of our love......going stronger day to day.... kicking.gif

Maraming salamat po! We're free from the USCIS for 21 months. Yiiipppeeeeeee!!!!!

Oo nga, Mae. It would be nice to work for them but I think for federal positions, especially the DHS/USCIS, one has to be a US citizen. Doug prefers for me to have a home-based job (takot nya lang maligawan ako sa ofis hihihi devil.gif) .

So in the meantime, back to my home-based job, that of being a "maid" of honor! Haaaay..... back to my labada.....

helllooooooooo to all the old VJ member here! kicking.gif

hi Cor...CONGRATS kicking.gif !....just wanna drop a message to say heeeelloooooooo to all the people here..(nagparamdam lang naman na we're still kicking...i read vj everyday but no more time to say hi or post....lol....just an update i am working for almost 2 months now... as an inventory specialist in one of the biggest auto parts in the u.s. my job assignment is very interesting and my co-employees are very cool and nice to me ....lots of guys in my work looking for a filipina wife...lol..hahhahahaha..coz they said we are pretty!....about federal positions we're thinking of that too...but todd said for now... i need to concentrate in a private company first... maybe after 2 years... i will take civil service exam here and i could apply for a federal job too.... i got envy with him sometimes about pay check..lol..hahahhaah..coz he's working in the state job and the salary and benefits are great...soooo i think I need to continue dreaming for now....lol.. kicking.gif

As requested, adding jj1028. And to RandyandRina, walang anuman po  Congrats to 2hearts1beat on visa approval!

I'm wondering why people are reluctant to provide the first 3 digits (after 2007) of their Manila case number. We VJ old-timers built up our excitement by guesstimating our interview schedule based on the interview dates given to those who preceded our case number. It was a lot of fun.

PhilippinesManila Embassy Interview/Visa Status

Hello again everyone!

Just arrived from back-to-back trips here. A few days after Vegas, we had to fly to Boulder, Colorado for business. It was not a honeymoon trip plus my son was travelling with us so no hanky-panky for us  . Dusa si hotDoug ko hehe.

I haven't figured out how to post my wedding photos here so please bear with me. I'll figure it out when I find the time. Busy lang talaga. I will also start updating my long-neglected list.

Thanks for the update Mae. I can relate to the homesickness. I thought I was ok here, did not feel sad or homesick for maybe 2 weeks then all of a sudden, while driving along a highway here in WA, I saw what looked like South Expressway along Laguna and then I just started feeling homesick and then cried. Bigay kaagad ng tissue ang aking bf este asawa na pala. Haaay, Philippines, kahit magulo at mabaho, it's still home. Have a fun wedding day. Remember to always smile for the camera!

i am a truck driver and sherwin is with me in the truck now. we have been to almost all of the continental states so far, except MN, ND, SD, NE, IA, WY, ID, WA, OR, VT, and RI. and i guess we did all the paperwork right bcz we did have to go to canada 2 times already and had no problem with immigration either time.

Thank you for the update, Bernie. I see lots of those gleaming big trucks here in WA. Gee, how do you keep them so clean after those long trips? What a fun job! Criss-crossing coast-to-coast! But it must be painful for the bum-bum ;)

Which hotel that you can recommend me and how long did you get your marriage license? Did you have to make appointments or reservations first...ohhh sooo much questions, sowee. Huhuhu i think we can't make it before July 30, "sayang" hehehe. But we'll still try.

There are many great but reasonable hotels to choose from in Vegas. Depends on how much you want to spend and your taste. You may want to go to www.expedia.com to check them out.

Regarding the marriage license, just show up at the marriage bureau, no appointments required. You can get it in less than 30 minutes at:

Marriage Bureau
201 Clark Avenue
Las Vegas, Nevada 89155-1603
(702) 671-0600
Open daily 8am-12midnight including holidays
Fee: $55
Bring passport or IDs

hey PRETTY WOMAN (PW) CONGRATS! just wondering where have you been...lol.....i thought you gonna pick up the date JULY (13)..hhahahahhaah.......regards.....

Hi Jasmin. I've been burned by Friday the 13th twice already kaya lucky 777 naman
