Do we need a joint sponsor if my hubby was making over poverty but under 125% last year (as he spent 5 months with me in Ukraine not working)??

And what if my husband needs a joint sponsor. Is I-864 EZ still ok for him to use? And what form should sponsor fill out?

I am the only immigrant (CR-1 visa) as our baby was issued an amrecina passport. What type of affidavit of support does my hubby need to fill out and send?
Is it I-864EZ or I-864?

Also, what is everyone's experience at booking flights on short notice? Can I assume that it will be cheaper to book a flight at least one week in advance of departure, or would it be better still to book two weeks or more in advance.

Thanks in Advance

As for tickets pricing - check out Expedia site. You can compare prices for Nov and Oct there.

my hubby always buys airplane tickets through expedia.com

A question on DS-230.

Point 25 namely. I had R (C1/D class) visa -this type of visa is issued to crewmembers who work on cruise ships. Should I indicate that type of visa in my DS-230? 'cause I entered US using that visa but I lived 6 months on a cruise ship not actually in the US

Not sure if anyone finds this info useful... Just FYI..
Our baby boy's SSN just arrived to my hubby's address in US. Though we filed for it in Kiev Embassy in March 2007, then refiled in July 2007. so we have been waiting for that SSN to come for half a year. They say that if you file it from US and NOT from the embassy abroad it ussually takes ONLY 2 weeks to be ready.

Notarization of what signature?

Notarization of our Ukrainian marriage certificate and my birth certificate translated by an official translator.
They (Embassy people) told Natashenika that no notarization needed for police certificate translation. And what about the rest of translations, namely our marriage and my birth certificate translations.

Just want to let everyone know that I had question about the validation police certificate in Ukraine I e-mailed them
here I'm pasting the answer from kiev embassy
"Dear Ms. XXXXXXX:

Thank you for contacting us via e-mail. In response to your letter of October 1, 2007 we would like to inform you of the following.

The police certificate is valid for 12 months since the date of its issuance. The translation of the document should bear the stamp or seal of the translation agency and additional notarization of the document is not required.

We hope this information will help you. If we can be of further assistance in this or any other matter, do not hesitate to contact us via e-mail.

Looks like that there are different requirements as for DS-230 Part I and/or II and documents that one should send to NVC for certain countries.

A DS form is a DS form is a DS form.... The expiration date may not be significant. If it is the latest revision you can use it no problems

Great!!
Does NVC require both parts of DS-230? copies of birth, marriage, police certificates and passport copy from Ukrainian applicants? or just DS-230 part I and a passport copy (bio page)?

VJ surfers,

Those who file for CR-1 - does NVC require the following documents or their copies from the Agent:
Birth certificate
Police certificate
Marriage certificate

Or those documents are required in the embassy for the interview only??

Another question. Those who received DS-230 from the NVC - did your DS-230 form have a bar code like DS-3032? or can DS-230 be downloaded from a website and be ok?

And where from can I download DS-230 to fill it out and send it to my hubby just for him to have it and send back to NVC?

Agent means the person who will be receiving my correspondence (forms and stuff) from NVC?

Guys, is it a normal situation that our petition was approved August, 7th and we haven't received a hard copy of it (NOA2)from USCIS yet. Hubby called USCIS they said "file i-824 for a duplicate if you want ".. but i-824 is $ 340 sad.gif
maybe we should just wait longer?

Mariya, our I-129F and I-130 were both approved on August 8, 2007 and we still haven't received either of our hard copy NOA2 forms either. USCIS tells me their computer says they mailed them (we know the computer can't be wrong, right? haha). Also as proof that they mailed them, the operator pointed out that they never came back as undeliverable...I tried to explain that to me this seemed like further proof they were probably never sent. In any case, they also told me I can file an I-824 form. Either they are just wanting extra money or are just really really bad.

Anyway, I'm curious...did you ever received your NOA2?

I guess we received it. I told you the details in PM.

Guys who plan to go to med exam to Kiev make sure you have a RECENT Rubella vaccination otherwise you will get that shot in Kiev for 79 hr.

VJ surfers,

Is a Green Card something like a US passport. Say - Us passport bearers don't need to obtain a visa to enter European Union countries like they don't need any visum to come and saty in Ukraine(up to 3 months). Does a green card beaer need to obtain a visum to come to Greece or Italy for example?

Hello VJ surfers,

I am pretty new to this site but I find it very informative.
If I get my US spouse visa (we filed for CR-1). how much time should pass before I can travell back to Ukraine to see my family? I am far from getting my visa but I am already thinking about that... funny

P.S. I just got my KEV # assigned with NVC.

Hi,

As far as I understand while sending filled out DS-230 to NVC I should send some other documents (like passport copy, birth and marriage certificate copies). Is that true?
And what about the police certificate? does NVC requite the original or certified copy will do?
cause I think I might need the original of the police certificate for the embassy interview.
