PhilippinesMedical Question
Thank you Babykim. Assuming she passes she has the same interview date as you at the Embassy at 7am. She'll go back at 1pm on Friday to finish her medical. Hopefully it will be a successful day. Thanks again and good luck to you!

PhilippinesMedical Question
My fiancee had the first day of her medical today. Everything I've read in VJ suggests that if she has to come back the second day it's a pass. The doctor did ask her about the biopsy from her recent surgery. She had benign cysts removed from one of her breasts. I can't imagine that would cause her to fail her medical. Generally speaking if you go back for the second isn't it considered that you passed the medical? Your experiences will be appreciated.

Best wishes,

PhilippinesAnyone here who lives in Kent Washington or close?
Assuming my fiancee passes her interview which is on June 16th and receives the visa in a timely manner (I've seen people getting them in 3 days!) she will be here hopefully the 20th if we can make it work. I know it's a stretch to buy a ticket but I'd like to spend the weekend in Seattle and show her around before I take her to where we'll be living in the land of vampires--Forks, Washington. Surely we will get to the city from time to time and maybe Grace would like to meet you. There also is a Filipina south of here in Hoquiam that recently moved to the states. Can't recall her VJ ID though. Murphy's law being what it is she'll probably be here sometime after the 20th. But only time will tell.

Best wishes and good luck!

PhilippinesTattoo?
Oh, and the other thing I forgot to mention--to add insult to injury SLEC charged Grace an additional 1000 php for her pyschiatric evaluation. Priceless. We'll know in a few hours the results. Just had to get that off my chest.

Best wishes to all!

Thank you all for your words of encouragement. Grace didn't say and I didn't ask about her body art. We've all experienced youthful indiscretions haven't we? hehe All I know is what is in her heart and soul. It's what I want! Hopefully the 9am call will be just fine based on these comments.

PhilippinesTattoo?
I don't care for tattoos either but I still love my fiancee. Her tattoo is not that big. It's simply a ankle bracelet design which she got when she was much younger. I just spoke with her and the pyschiatrist wouldn't tell here anything after the sesson except to call back tomorrow morning at 9am. Her interview at the embassy is next Tuesday. She lives in Cavite so assuming she passes her medical she'll have to return for the 4th time to Manilla for her immunizations and then of course again next Tuesday. We're both kind of dazed by this turn of events. How can a tattoo reflect on one's mental stability? If it were that bad then millions of people all over the world would be in mental institutions. smile.gif

Good luck to all!

PhilippinesTattoo?
I guess tattoos aren't liked in the Philippines. My fiancee was called back today for a pyschiatric evaulation because of a tattoo around her ankle. I'm waiting now for her call but is this a legitimate reason to fail the medical examination? Are people with tattoos seen as mentally deranged there? Any others that have had similar experiences please let me know how it turned out for you.

Thanks!

Philippinesjune 16 interview
Good Luck! You'll do just fine! Unfortunately my fiancee's interview which was also supposed to be today with you at 7am has been delayed because of SLEC's concern for her tattoo. She found out today she can go to SLEC and get her immunizations but this obviously will delay her embassy interview. That the good news! She'll get her vaccinations Tuesday the 16th and hopefully will get a quick embassy interview. That's the bad news we don't know when the next available interview date is and SLEC tells my fiancee they will reschedule it. In the meantime I wish everyone best of luck in their interviews today and forever!

PhilippinesAge Difference
My plan was to be there unfortunately my fiance's family had a medical emergency which basically took all of my travel money. I'll just trust the mountains of evidence we have of a three and half year relationship will do the trick! Thank you for your replies.

PhilippinesAge Difference
Hello everyone!

I know there's a poll somewhere on VJ about the age difference between filipinas and their husbands/fiances. I've seen it and saw many with large age gaps between the man and woman. I'm just curious. Did the consular officer bring this up during the interview? Did it cause anyone to get denied? I've been worrying about this the last couple of days. Her interview is June 16th. She just needs to do one more thing for her medical related to her recent surgery. We have a legitimate relationship and proof of such for three and half years now. Maybe I'm just worried about nothing but any reassurance would make it easier to sleep at night. I really don't want anymore delays.

Thanks everyone and good luck with your visa journey.

Grace finally passed her medical today!! Inspite of the taboo on tattoos! Her visa embassy interview is now scheduled for July 3rd at 8:30am. So I guess I'll be resigning from the June interview club! Good luck to all and have a safe trip to the United States and more importantly a long and happy life!

No appointment needed. First come first served. Everything I read in VJ is the best time is to go right after lunch hour say 1pm. And also to not go on Monday as everyone does that. That is why Grace is going Tuesday afternoon. Also to not go on a Friday because she has to come back for immunizations and everything is delayed by the weekend. Plus the sooner the better in case additional tests are requested. Maybe other members have better advice. Good luck!

PhilippinesInterview in July 21,2009
My unbelievable fiancee had a problem with her medical early last week because of a tattoo. She is so thoughtful to me that she "told" me after passing the medical that her rescheduled embassy interview was next July 3rd. Imagine my surprise when she woke me up in the middle of the night last night to tell me she passed her embassy interview and got the pink slip!!! Woohoo!!! She did this because she didn't want me to worry. Wow what a woman! She had called me a couple of nights ago and we were going over the paperwork. I tried to explain to her that we had plenty of time to organize and practice embassy questions, etc. I had no idea she was going to her embassy interview today (PH time). She'll get extra special treatment when she arrives in the United States in a couple of weeks *wink*wink* To all who are still toiling through the process just never give up and be prepared. To everyone here at Visa Journey this has been an incredible source of information and assistance. Thank you all!!! Now just a little more waiting until we can be together again!

I got my interview date too this july 16,09 all the information is gathered except for my husband kids birth certificate, his kids is grown no costudy thing or child support anymore since his done to all of it. Im so confuse coz theres no way we could get all of his kids birth certificate one of them is not even here in colorado. please if u guys have any idea it might be a big help for us.

Anyway this is how it was stated in the list "If your eligibility is based on your marriage, in addition to your spouse coming to the interview with you, bring
"If either you and your spouse were ever married before, all divorce decrees copies "which we have already have a copy" and birth certificate for all children of this marriage, and costudy papers for your children and for your children not living with you. Do you think this is only applied to kids under 18 or what coz it dont make sense to me his oldest daughter is 22 and the youngest is 19 and this youngest girl have kids already and married too so basically all of them are all grown.

Pls pls i need ur help!!!!!

thanks,

Congratulations!

Question. Does anyone know which is the best number to check on a visa? My fiancee met someone the day of her interview. Her friend received her visa two days ago our has not shown up. Will the call center know anything? Any assistance you can provide would be most appreciated. We are so anxious to be together but we can't plan until Grace has that visa on her hand. Thank you all very much.

Hello all December filers at California. I got my NOA2 today only two weeks after I sent in the RFE. I'm amazed and grateful of course. Good luck to all and God speed to those still waiting. Well I think it's official!! My first vent!! ranting33va.gif Still haven't heard anything yet from CSC!! USPS says received on 12/31/08!!! I am geting so worried and freaked out that something is wrong with the package or they have sent it back! Of course from CSC to the state of ND takes double the freakin time! And to make it better my fiance is moving at the end of the week!! PCS'ing!!! Betcha they won't forward the mail if we do get a NOA1!!!!! Return service requested!!! The check has not cashed and nothing in the mail!! If we don't get any word by the end of this week I am gonna freak!! Is it completely useless to call USCIS?? Of course without a case number it will be!! UGHHH crying.gif

Call them. I had a mailing address glitch as it sounds you might have. I called with no case number and they transferred me some where or maybe gave me a different number to call I don't exactly remember at this moment. I got a delightful person who asked a few questions like my name, my fiancee's name and social security number and she found my case gave me the case number and changed my address. I'm not suggesting that all of their CSR's will be that friendly but mine was. What's the worst that can happen? My advice is to call them. It won't hurt anything to do so. Good luck!

Well our package finally arrived. A day late but at least it got there. It arrived at 11:20 and was signed by a V Semegi.

So now we play the waiting game.... According to the Immigration Timelines, the average wait (over the past 6 months) from sending to receiving NOA 1 is 8 days.

So going by that we should hope to get ours on the 23rd of December. We'll see I guess.

Will keep you up to date. come on man, where are all the December filers..ha.

Hope everyone is well.

Luke and Deanna

Hello!

I am a December filer. Mailed the package on 12/10. It was received certified return receipt 12/11. CSC cashed my personal check on 12/15. As soon as I get NOA1 of course I'll update my timeline. On Igor's list we're number 282. Good luck to all December filers! God speed!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMNL Appointment Process

Thank you Suyene.  Just an FYI for anyone else that is curious.  I am an early riser so very early this morning I decided to check if appointments were available.  They were!  Only 5 at 6:30am but I grabbed one.  So it appears the Embassy (at least this week) posted appointment openings either late Friday night or very very early Saturday morning.  I now have the appointment for my wife on May 13th with all documents in our possession.  She just has to go through the St. Luke's physical which I have registered for.  The only problem we'll have is her vaccinations.  When she was a child the doctor came to the house to administer immunizations and there is no record kept.  I hope there will be a solution to this short of her getting all of them over again.  She'll do the physical some time next week.  Thank you again for your reply.  And it is correct to keep checking regularly maybe even several times a day as maybe there is no real schedule of when appointments are posted.

Good luck to all on the visa journey!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMNL Appointment Process

Okay, so we are ready for the interview.  All paperwork has been gathered, everything has been done including filling out the online DS-260.  At first I was told in an email from the Embassy to email a certain address to secure an appointment which I did.  The Embassy replied and asked me to schedule an appointment online which I've been trying to do.  When I get to the last page in the online process there is a statement that there are no appointments available.  So I call the number provided in the email and the nice CSR tells me there are no appointments available because they haven't been posted.  When I asked when that will happen she can't tell me.

So, the question is does anyone know?  Is there any rhyme or reason when the Embassy might post appointment openings?

I'll keep trying to schedule an appointment online but it's tedious as they make you go through the same six or seven pages on their website before you get to the area saying there are no appointments.  I was hoping today being  May 1st they might post the May schedule.  Then I noticed it's a holiday here in the Philippines.  Labor Day, so probably nothing will happen today.  Does anyone know if there is a a certain time of the month when the Embassy might give us an appointment opening?  I am filing CR-1 DCF through the US Embassy in Manila.

Thank you for any light you can shed on this subject.   And if you have a moment, could you turn down the heat??

Best wishes,

Steve & Evelyn

Speaking of addresses. I sent my I-129F in on December 10, 2008. On the form it clearly asks for street number, etc. I followed those instructions and put my street address. However in my small town my mail only comes to a PO Box. I have not received my NOA1 yet but others that sent their I-129F in at the same time as myself have already received theirs. I was hoping in my small town they'd recognize my name and slip it into the box and then I could contact them and get my mailing address changed. Any ideas how I should handle this? Guess I could try to call CSC. But I have no number to reference other than my name and social security numbers. Ideas please. Thanks! Best of luck for speedy approvals and everyone have a fantastic 2009!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresLast name changed---divorce

This may seem like a stupid question. My filipina wife and I have divorced. We were married for just over two years. It's time to send her in her I-751 and I am helping her with that. She obviously no longer possesses my last name and has returned to her maiden name. Should the I-751 application contain her former married name (my last name) or her now maiden last name? I obviously will include a copy of the divorce decree in the mailing to them. But Immigration has her married name in their database so I wasn't sure how to go about this. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you all and best wishes to everyone in their Visa journey!

Also is it necessary for me to sign the I-751 as well as her? Thanks!
