No tax transcripts replace tax returns.

Great, one less thing to track down.  I will bring my W2's since I was married in 2011 ans 2012 and need to show just my individual income. Thanks for everything you do NLR, not sure where we would be without you!!

For the interview: If I have the sponsor and co sponsors tax transcripts from the last 3 years do I also need to bring w2's and tax returns?

So turned out my GP didn't have the Tdap booster I needed, pharmacy had to order it. Should get it by end of this week, but man, I'm stressing!! My immigration medical is next Wednesday at 11AM! And so hard to get answers from Dr Cheema's office - some of his paperwork says what vaccines you need, but then references the CDC/State Department website that includes others that he doesn't.....

My GP wanted me to get the Shingles vaccine (I had it when I was 12, and chickenpox when I was little) but it's over $200 and I just don't need the extra expense....

What experiences have others had with the medical exam process???

(I know it will all be ok and work out, but after months of waiting for things to move, now things are whipping along!! LOL)

Peace all

Marc had his medical yesterday (at Medisys in Montreal) and all they gave him was a tetanus shot.  He hasn't had any flu or boosters and they did not require them. Just a little FYI...

Hi everyone,

My wife and I are finally almost ready to send her IV documents. It has been a nightmare getting her police clearance from Taiwan which she dropped the ball by not submitting sooner ugggh (lol). This is the last step in emailing her documents and than waiting for a case complete. Assuming no checklist what is the timeframe for a case complete and then an interview? I am trying to read other posts for info. Great idea for this thread. Any new updates for the Montreal embassy, also? All replies will be greatly appreciated.

Paul

You're looking at just under 8 weeks (60 days) for your CC then one week for them to set the interview date.  Montreal is running a 6 week wait time for interviews so if you send everything today and get no checklists then you should have an interview in the first half of January. Of course they wont be processing during Thanksgiving or Christmas so that will, unfortunately,  add a few days to your timeline as well. Good luck, I hope they speed up the process for during your wait and you can be together for Christmas!

So what is the POE process? I hear they tell you to be at the airport 4 hours early...does it take that long??

They didnt do a UA drug test on my husband at the medical, is that done at the interview or at the airport?  i wouldnt think so....just curious as to what is next for us!

Guys... Register for courier services only.

Do it after your CEAC says ready. Yes you need the confirmation for the interview day.

Ok I see, was making it harder than it needed to be, as usual. Sorry!

At the risk of sounding neurotic, what now? Interview date is scheduled and Dr. appt is also scheduled.  Is there a wiki for the consulate process like there was for the NVC process? How do we register for loomis? I got the interview email (no case complete email though unless they are one in the same) Should I be expecting any other communication?

I have a question. During the interview it seems like a common question to be asked is have you even been arrested. My husband was arrested twice as a teenager. Once for possessing burglary tools (vice grips in his pocket) for which he served community service and once for spray painting on a building ( charges where dropped)  but these aren't on his record and he has his clear police report.  He should still tell the interviewer that he was arrested as a teenager correct?  Will the stupid things teenage boys do put us at risk for denial?

Did you call yet to see when your interview is?? I'm going to try calling later tonight or maybe tomorrow morning.

Very happy for you!!

Thank you!! SUPER relieved, 156 days at the NVC!!! Nope, no email even though they promised one would be sent. Did you get one?

I called today because I was driving myself crazy checking CEAC site and they confirmed CC.  They said email would be sent when an interview was schedules but as they dont tend to send the emails they say they will I may call on Friday to see if an interview date has been set. When you find yours out let me know! We may be in Montreal at the same time!

Actually turns out our lawyer filed everything electronically on July 8, she originally said she was going to snail mail. So it still took pretty close to 60 days. Whatever, I'm just glad it's moving again. But am ironically hoping I don't have an interview before Oct 6th - holidays are booked and paid for. LOL

Not sure if I'll call or not, our lawyer is very good, I know she'll let me know as soon as she's sending all the documents back to me.

Have a great long weekend everyone!!

:luv:

Sorry about that outburst, just really needed to hear some good news.  You should be fine with your holiday as it looks like interviews are being made about 6 weeks out so, mid october for you (and hopefully me as well!!)

So hubby just booked 2 week trip to BC for our first wedding anniversary (thanks immigration people, HAD hoped to be moved by then, grr) and we're going to spend it in Victoria. I'm excited since I grew up around there, will also take hubby whale watching! Most of all I'm thrilled beyond reason to see my husband again after nearly 9 months....SO done with long distance!

Now just praying NVC doesn't all of a sudden speed up and tell me my interview is right around then! Wouldn't that be ironic???

I'm alternating between checking the NVC site every day and trying to ignore it every day.............................sigh.

Just blethering...................thanks for listening!

Namaste.

Well I managed to (kinda) stay away from the CEAC portal during the 5 days my husband was here but now he is on his way back home and I'm back to checking.  I got on with fingers crossed that something had changed, but it hasn't .  <_<

*deep sigh*

My priority date is 2 days after yours so I really hope you get your CC soon as i'm ready to take advantage of some of these happy emoticons!

Well, here I am again....

Still no change to our case at NVC - Civil and Financial documents still show N/A, fees still show PAID. All documents received at NVC July 8th.

I thought the wait at USCIS was hard, but I swear this is worse. Not having a date of interview, no way to plan ANYTHING. I'm a planner and an organizer type, so this is really putting me to the test!

Boss wants to post my job (I said not yet) Landlady wants to list my condo (I said not yet) Husband wants to book ticket to come out to BC for our wedding anniversary next month (I said not yet) Son wants his mom to come down to Vancouver to visit him (I said not yet).

Ugh. Anyone else having similar feelings???

Thanks for letting me vent.  :ranting:

YES!!! Still no activity for us either (July 10 priority date) Life is put on hold for EVERYONE, me...him...his roommate. How do we plan anything??? We cant!!  I have said over and over again that this is sooo much worse than USCIS was.  I mean there I KNEW it would be a while, but I was under the impression that the NVC was just a quick stop and it has proven not to be!!! I'm with you sister!!

Been doing this LDR for 10 years....I refuse to count the $$$$ spent supporting American Airlines and all the rest. But worth every penny as my man is absolutely amazing!!!

Our case was just transferred, to where?, we don't know...., but we're happy we are one day closer to never having to say goodbye at an airport. We are so very grateful to our jobs that we have never spent months and months apart. We just can't imagine.

We have been blessed and are thankful.

We continue to count our blessings and pray for others.

Amen.

God bless and namaste.

My sweet husband and I have been waiting 15 long years to be together and let me tell you, this last 4 months at the NVC has been the worst part of this whole wait.  My husband is a wonderful man and he completes me in every way and is well worth the years and the tears. He will be here in a few weeks for an unplanned trip to keep me from going insane due to all the delays we have encountered at the NVC. I pray that the airport goodbye at the end of this visit will be the last one we ever have to have.

Ok, so found out today that lawyer got the 60 day email on Aug 4th. Our documents were received July 8th. So hopefully I might get a case complete by end of the month, and I'm thinking it likely that I'm looking at an October interview date??

Feeling down and fed up with this process, even though I know rationally I'm near the end of it and will soon be in my new life.

Heavy sigh.

Yep my timeline is looking similar to yours, sent my checklist in on July 10, then got the 60 day email. That puts my review by date at September 4 and then 1 week wait for interview date and 6 week wait for actual interview...maybe around the 20th of October....that's IF they don't push the review by date back even more.

*sigh*

I've been at the NVC since April....

I just got off the phone with the NVC and was told that they are now taking 60 days (total, not business) to review emails instead of 30 business days because of their backlog. I really need to stop calling to check on my case, it's so discouraging.  :crying:

I suggest that if you are trying to decide between doing EP or snail mail, go snail mail.

Sarah&MarcFemaleCanada2014-08-01 22:48:00

I think i know the answer to this but i would like some confirmation. When doing EP do they take 30 business days to review a resubmit due to a checklist?

Sarah&MarcFemaleCanada2014-07-09 23:55:00
CanadaNVC Thread for Canadians

Just a little FYI for people using or thinking about using EP, they are NOT kidding when they say it can take up to 30 business days to review received Emails.  I sent our IV packet on May 29 and it STILL hasnt been reviewed.  The NVC rep said it should be reviewed sometime this week.  The 30 day mark is July 11.

:clock:

Sarah&MarcFemaleCanada2014-07-07 23:25:00
CanadaNVC Thread for Canadians

Exactly, my husband will need me there to help with the move after approval so right now i must sit and wait for the NVC to do their thing....

Whats worse is that my original AOS packet was sent on May 10 and after waiting the 30 days they make you wait for processing they informed me that they never even received it.  I was told to RESEND it on June 17, that pushed back our case complete by at least another month...

*sigh*

Yeah...NVC wait is the worst :/

Because you feel like you're finally getting there, and then the carpet gets pulled out from under you. :-(

I said the same thing to my husband this morning. Lol!

You know, I think its because during the NOA2 wait i traveled back and forth freely whenever we could afford it. This time we are waiting till the interview to see each other again. It sucks, we have the money sitting there, waiting, and its up to them to decide when I get to see my husband again and they sure are taking their time.  :ranting:

As I understand it, you are eligible for Canadian Unemployment Insurance if you quit your job to relocate.

There is a thread on here with lots of info.

Yes after reading your post i did some looking around and found that thread. This is great! I posted this question on that thread but maybe someone on this thread has an answer to it:

Ok, im the USC and i had no idea my husband could receive EI after he came to the US. Our situation is a little different though.  My husband is currently on EI due to the closure of the company he was employeed with.  We expect our interview to be in August.  Will he be able to continue with his current EI case once he moves or will he have to close this one and open a different one?

Sarah&MarcFemaleCanada2014-06-14 13:55:00
CanadaNVC Thread for Canadians

Oh I bet. I'm thinking a lot about the adjustments I'll have to make once I'm there. Funny how a while ago quitting my job of over 28 years seemed like it would be awesome, but I'm starting to realize how much I'll miss my work and my colleagues. They have been my other family for a long time. Also the idea of 'losing' my independence. I've been a career working single mom for a long time, always supported myself and my son (and my ex husband for a while), so it'll be very strange to be relying on someone else for a time.
I was SO heartened to find out about the Employment Insurance option - that will be a very helpful bridge while I get settled and look for some kind of work......

What employment insurance option are you referring to?
