Where it says "My total income (adjusted gross income on IRS Form 1040EZ) as reported on my Federal tax returns for the most recent three years was:" DOes this include our income together considering that is the only number that you see on the transcripts? K1	Of course I know who he was... a evil dictator who caused massive suffering(way understated)... and if you notice I didnt compare him to anyone... only the similarities of the lies told to all of us at the onset of being placed in AP hell... "your approved petition will be forwarded within a week" (paraphrased) and for me that week lasted 41 days... agonizing days that I had no way of knowing if it would turn into months or years... So... the quote was uttered by someone who had no regard for anyone or anything.... And in MHO whoever decided that no information should be shared to the petitioner, and false information be mailed to the petitioner. also has no regard for the lives or feelings of the poor souls subjected to this cruelty... also I meant no offense to any one on this site... Rather I was just trying to put a light on their absurd practices.. And the fact that if we as petitioner/beneficiaries lie or make a mistake we are punished.. K1	Thanks to everyone for their words of encouragement... but the fact remains I still think that the NVC should be accountable to someone... or at the very least a set of rules that are published... lets see hows that go... one govmt of the people, for the people... so.. given that statement this govment agency should be at the very least be accountable to the people... and to the customer... ok I am just PO'd for us and everyone else stuck too... having my rant lol... but seriously, would it be so hard for them to say "we are doing background checks".... or "if after 6 weeks we will investigate the situation"... but all we get is..."there is no timeline for this process"... do you think if I told my boss that it would fly? I would guess that you are right... But..I still think there should be time limits each step in the process must conform to.... We are talking about Families here... I kinda wish I had not talked to one honest (I think) CSR at NVC... coz he asked me what kind of petition I had...I told him K1... he said "well it should not be here long because we dont do any kind of processing of k1 visas" that was almost 4 weeks ago... What kind of a system has our wonderful government created for us? We are currently stuck in an abyss that is known as AP @ VJ.. and have been there for 1 month and 6 days... here is what I know for fact: 1. that according to the call center at the NVC that is where our petition is... is it really?...Who knows. 2. That there is no time line for AP @ NVC 3. The Department of state will lie to you! 4. The NVC will lie to you. 5. The call center does not even know what AP even is. So, based upon what I do know, you can tell there is a lot that I dont. soooo what I dont know. But would really like to know.: 1. What is really the status of my case? 2. What is AP? 3. How long will AP take? 4. Why was my case sent into AP when so many are out of NVC in a week or less? 5. Why is this agency allowed to LIE to the petitioner by sending a communication saying that the case will be forwarded in 1 week? These questions really just scrape the surface... And am I the only one here that finds it hard to believe that this agency is allowed to have no checks and balances. No guideline by which they are expected to do their jobs?... I mean seriously even as much as we all hate the USCIS they do have a system that is intended to protect or give the petitioner some recourse in case that there is some hang up. If I have read all the documents correctly there if your case goes beyond the target date you can request an expidite or atleast set up an info pass... Im not saying that the system always works buttttttt At the NVC... they just tell you that "there is no timeline for this process" What does that mean? can they keep it there for years? and they dont answer to anyone? I have never before had an employer that gave me that kind of NON RESPONSIBILITY to my customer... Imagine if you will: Example take your car to the dealership for a tune-up... you call them to see if it is ready.. they tell you sorry its in AP... and there is no timeline... MY GOD! it is a JOKE... I read a post today where someone had their congressman do an inquiry... wanna guess the response? yup you got it.. There is no timeline for this process...and that was to a congressional inquiry... SOOOO..... If you have suffered thru my Rant... Is there anyone that knows of any recourse for us, the fee paying customers? Yeah I am highly pi$$ed... I found the one woman in this world that I want to spend my life with and here I sit twiddling my thumbs...miserable... you know... I wish when you rented a car.. or a movie and the company called you wanting it back, you could just say sorry it is in AP... The rep will have a website and you can email them, call them or as in my case drop by since the office is two blocks away. Have you downloaded the form and instructions from www.travel.state.gov? You can access the form and instructions through this link and then you'll be able to ask specific questions about what is required. You'll need to prove that your sponsor meets the above poverty guidelines (they are also posted on the site), provide past tax returns and W-2's. It asks for one, but many people opt to go ahead and send three years as sometimes they will come back and request this anyway. Good luck! One point...DO NOT COUNT YOUR SPOUSE TWICE when they ask for number of members in household...according to other VJ members this has resulted in many RFE's for applicants. Also, if you were married and divorced, not only send the divorce decrees but a letter stating why the number of people in your household does not match your application. Africa: Sub-Saharan	Dating Internationally	never intended to do any long distance dating or internet relationship it just happened. At first I didn't blieve in it and then we became close and he made me laugh and we enjoyed each other. Then we moved to phone calls which at first was a little difficult he has that african accent and I had never even been out of the country before. It was totally something different for me and it took time to for us to grow and learn each other. But I believe God placed him in my life and he is a true blessing and has been from the start. II have been with my husband for over 2 years now it was 14 months before I ever traveled to Ghana and We are approaching our first wedding anniversary in Dec.. I didn't have love at first site...my life didn't allow me to trust so much at first.. He earned my trust over time. We were and still are very vocal and leave no questions unanswered.. It is kind of funny some traditions in countries... I felt like a teenager when I went to see my husband for the first time.. There was a big family meeting and we had to answer hard questions about our relationships and intentions toward each other before the family gave a blessing for us to be married. I'm very close with my mother in law and his entire family. I talk to his brother online about everyday. I talk to my husband by phone and email and text messages to many times a day to count. We are very close and can just about finish each other sentences now. We have been through a lot and he has been there for me much more than I have for him, due to circumstances in my life here in the states. As for marriage fraud....I know there is lots of it have seen it through many people but my marriage...I have my eyes wide open and my husband truly loves me, as I truly love him. I have been to Ghana 3 times this year and stay about a month everytime I went. I took my daughter and grandson with me in April and our families bonded really well. My daughter calls my husband her father cause he has already been more of a dad to her in this time period than her own father in her life time and she is 19... My family, daughter, grandson, mother, niece all communicate with my husband and his brother. The communication with his mother is a little more difficult she don't speak much english but we do communicate and she is learning. We are very much in love and hate to be apart but stay in constant communications. I'm going back right after Christmas for our anniversary. We have an awesome relationship in person and over the distance.. But the distance is very hard on us as it is all couples going through this. We would all rather be with our loved one on a daily basis... and that is why my husband I have a set time every day we talk for a certain amount of time on the phone. We text all the time and never lose contact with each other and always share all that is going on in our lives both with his there and mine here. Just as we would if we were in one place together. But they say I can't send in the evidence til I actually get the letter well it been a week now and no. letter, have emailed them but no response so they are delaying me by requesting for info but not allowing me to send it til they send me cover sheet. Africa: Sub-Saharan	Question about Divorce in Ghana	Yeah there is alot of scam there from some and since he has an odd situation and things it is something I would want a background check on... if you read the posts here before there sometimes traditionally married which is not legally recognized in the states but in the families. and sometimes only marry to be able to bring rest of family to the states. Don't know much bout your situation but looks complicated and scary and trust me his process is hard enough without even more complications...Best of Luck... I was told to call after the 15th of every month and they would be able to tell me if I would have an interview the next month. So try calling NVC every month and see what the say.... You may find out faster that way.... cause I hear when they schedule it ...for a CR-1 it is 30 days after the date they tell you so it you don't have long to gather things together and get them in order for interview including medicals and so forth. But that is all I know and that is what I do starting this month.... Good Luck and I wish everyone would be nice enough to post when they recieve interview dates it would help some of from going completely crazy from waiting.... National Visa Center (Dept of State)	Affidavid of Support New Info...	Hey everyone... Got a RFE on my affidavid of support... Just thought I would post the info here so incase anyone would ever need the information.. I filed the I864 for myself but my family members in the house that are helping me sponsor my husband filed I864a....All is good with all of that except They need records proving our relationships.... My Brother and I both must submit birth records proving we have same parent..... My sister in law was the other applicant and she and my brother must provide their marriage license to prove they are married and their relationship. So if anyone is using household members as support be ware of these details.... If you have a step /or half brother or sister that will be helping you out but you don't have both parents listed on your birth records like alot of people these days don't it will me much difficult to prove relationship.... So just be ware of this situation .... Just wanted the info to be here in case anyone needed it.... Thank God I have all the info they need to prove relationship for us all.
