Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionOMG! Processing Time Update!
QUOTE (CanAmCharlotte @ Apr 16 2009, 04:54 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I'm not sure I feel lucky to have been transferred. My package sat in Vermont for seven months untouched and then was transferred to California. Two months there and still nothing. I sent my state Senator an email yesterday basically to complain about the inequities of the situation (i.e., some petitions approved in two months, others taking well over a year) and got a reply that basically said I'll get around to it when I'm good and ready! Great. mad.gif

You preached it CanAmCharlotte i am sick and tired of waiting. My case sat in Vermont for 7 months i filed July 31st 2008 my case sat untouched gathering dust lint whatever it did there.Lo and behold it got transferred 02-25-2009 and i was elated now almost 2 months after transfer i am still waiting.I dont care who says what about us complaining.I am sick of seeing October and beyond CSC transfers approved.I am pissed actually enraged.I dont know what to do and it seems there is nothing i can do.You said you contacted your congressman and it did nothing. In the end what enrages me is if i have waited 9 going on ten months there should be a consistency to everyones wait.I feel like i am being punished three times.Once for filing on time twice for filing at Vermont.Three times by waching all the October 2008 - March 2009 CSC tranfers new filers getting approved.I have checked my mail box and that website to the point where it has become depressing. And i must say the USCIS website is filled with rubbish they update wrong dates and customer service representatives have no clue whats going on with our cases when i call.I can vent about my wait though it will not get me approved faster. This is the most inadequate most rediculous annoying agency ever USCIS.Its funny in a way , why does it take a year to remove conditions. I will live to vent and wait another day blink.gif wacko.gif crying.gif .

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion02-25-2009 Tranfers VSC-CSC
I have been paying attention to the transfer list and i am wondering how may of us are left who got transferred over 60 odd days ago and still not approved.Does anyone have a theory as to why CSC is not touching the transfers.Should'nt the people who got transferred be ahead of the people who just filed.I keep seeing people approved in lightening speeds at California and im still waiting and im getting mad.Anyone have an input i feel that they have lost my case and not saying anything till month 12 to drive me crazy.Ten months is long enough i see people approved from the March transfer batch and im still waiting ,lovely.

I just got hit by a VSC RFE last week (after aplying for I-751 11 months ago)...So what are my chance of getting an interview request now? mad.gif Anyone had a simular experience?

I would say there is a slim chance after submitting the documents that they requested.I feel your pain i really do.They could have asked for the RFE 7 months into your wait not almost at the brink of a year pending.I think it total rubbish what's going on.I pray that after you submit the documents that you case does not stay in limbo waiting Some people get approved in 2 months at CSC.Some people never have interviews, some people get approved on a waiver in 2 months. And it does not help noticing that Vermont moved on to November 2008 and you are still pending.I wish you all the best and pray hard i will pray for you.Its not even the issue of having an interview its feeling like you are being singled out and picked on by USCIS for something thats so simple.

You are in quite a sticky situation since you are no longer living with your wife; have no evidence of bona fide marriage, etc.
ALSO, if you submit the AR-11; your sponsor (as in your wife) should also submit a I-865. When and if she does this, they will immediately know you folks do not live together anymore.
I also suggest withdrawing the petition, divorcing, and filing on your own.

I 100% agree the moment u d an address change without evidence of relationship and being seperated Red Flag City. And i can guess i will cause an interview.

Thanks

No, I have not heard of interview for joint petition. Heard of RFE for joint petition and interview for waive cases. If they would ask anyone for interview, please pick me!!! I would rather go to the interview than waiting forever.

Careful what you wish for there, or you might wait 12+ months, then get an RFE, and then get the interview. (as some people did)
And yes, a lot of people got interviews for a joint petition. Not sure about stoke.

I also wish they would send me RFE. At least some news is better no news and dry waiting but not knowing. They're sending RFE or interview means that they're working on the case instead of letting the file collecting dust. I would not wait for 12 months, 6 months I would start complaining and make sure myself be heard loud and clear, 12+ months they can interview me at citizenship. Same old CSC vs VSC processing time inequality, I'm not going to start that discussion here.

6 months you cant start complaining jasmine lilly since u would still be under the 10-12 month processing time.May 31st WILL BE TEN MONTHS and i am not happy.I would rather an interview since im disgusted by USCIS and their BS.

My main point of "6 months" is about the VSC vs CSC unequal processing time. It's an old topic, I'm not going to start that here. If I want to be unreasonable (but I'm not being unreasonable here), I can complain any time I feel there is unequal/unfair treatment, the point is getting anyone to listen.

You can complain and you are right its about who listens or what action is taken.

Actually I alread tried but no answer. whistling.gif Date of decision on the letter is 4/30/2009. She still has the one year extension letter but I guess I'll take this back to Thailand with me when I return on 5/13 unless the PGC arrives before then. She will be so excited and I am SO relieved! See everyone on the citizenship thread. On May 1 she became eligible so when we return from Thailand May 28th we will begin that journey.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionWhat should I ask?
QUOTE (CanAmCharlotte @ May 5 2009, 04:30 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Update: I saw the Immigration Specialist at Congresswoman Sue Myrick's office (North Carolina) this morning. Upon entering her office she said, "Oh yeah, I need to fax California." I wasn't even sure if she was referring to me or just thinking out loud! I was half expecting to have to beg her to make an official inquiry. I didn't have to say a thing. She busily wrote the cover sheet of a fax (she wrote "need update--lengthy processing time!!!" as the subject matter). I offered her photocopies of my NOA, my temporary greencard, the letter saying my file had been transferred from VSC to CSC, and the receipt from my biometrics. She was pleased that I brought these things and took them all. She attached them to a letter she had written on my behalf (on Congress of the United States House of Representatives letterhead....very official looking) and faxed them off to the CSC while I sat there. She then gave me a copy of the cover sheet and the letter she had written. North Carolina is a state that in recent years has attracted a lot of immigrants and I got the impression she does this type of thing all the time. She assured me that there is absolutely no rhyme or reason why one person gets approved in 60 days while another takes a year or more. Hopefully this will jostle the cobwebs off my file. The downside to all of this is that she said she might not hear anything back for two weeks. Agh! Maybe in the meantime I will get my approval but I won't hold my breath.

I'm telling you this because I feel if your petition has not been reviewed in the published processing times, you have every right to get your elected representative involved. Remember they are civil servants; elected to serve you the constituent.

I hope you hear something faster than 2 weeks.Maybe the lazy CSC employees will realize what drawer your case is and be embarassed that you have been pending for so long and approve you.Anything that will gain their attention into action is best.

If you live in Texas, me and another guy here from VJ are planning to write a group letter to Texas Senator this coming summer. The more people join in, the more power and attention our letter would get. Doesn't matter when did you file, as long as there is unequal processing timeline between CSC and VSC, you have the right to complain. We need to get someone to listen to us, then we have to be together in order to open up a commnunication channel. So please, join us. If you don't want to reply in public, feel free to send me a private message. Thank you!

I'd like to join but what is the complain about, Jasminelily? That CSC has a shorter processing time than VSC?

CSC can make the target goal of 6 months but VSC cannot, actually VSC can never. Why the unfair treatment? Who divided the states into processing by CSC and VSC? Is VSC getting lots more cases than VSC and thus caused the delay? Or is it because VSC has less personnels than CSC so even the cases are evenly distributed, VSC is still falling behind? There is no transparency. We need to find out the reasons why VSC is always slower than CSC, then we can fix the inequality problem. They said their customer service is first come first serve, but they can never do what they promised. I have seen people who filed at the same time as me got approved already at CSC, but why am I still waiting? Because I'm at VSC. Heck, even people who filed after me at CSC already got approved, we paid the same amount of application fee, why do they apply after me/us got approve before me/us? Lots of questions need answers. I'm tired of hearing VSC's excuse of I-751 being the low priority cases, so why does CSC treat it as such a high priority and make decisions so fast? USCIS is one government entity, why VSC thinks I-751 is low priority and CSC thinks I-751 is high priority? Anyone else can add in your opinions but my goal of this post is to get people to join us to write a group letter so our voices can be heard and our questions can get answers. I do not want to turn this post into an argument between CSC filers and VSC filers. Thank you!

If i were in Texas i wouldnt mind complaining with you.Only after a long unmerciful wait of watching everyone else approved till it drives you crazy will you get approved. All your points are 100% valid .The inconsistency in the processing of I751 petitions is rediculous an i dont know if it will ever be fixed. headbonk.gif headbonk.gif

My approval FINALLY came in the mail today. It took nine months and three weeks. Seemed like nine years.

This is interesting....I called the hotline on Friday (guess I was bored and needed to ruffle some feathers) and they said I was NOT approved yet although they did agree that I was well outside of the processing times. Obviously it was approved if the letter came today. The letter was postmarked before my phone call. Duh.

Would some kind person please update me on the VSC to CSC transfer list? I know I'm going to mess it up if I do it. I also need you to change my original receipt date. It was not July 17, 2008. It should actually read July 21, 2008. My decision date is May 6, 2009. Thank-you.

I've already had three mimosas to celebrate (with freshly squeezed orange juice no less).

I know it's hard but keep the faith my peeps! On to another hurry up and wait situation....naturalization.

I filed July 31st 2008 .If i were you i would call USCIS and find out about your case.Maybe you have been approved as well and are unaware.Do not pay attention to the online website and what they are processing. That entire agency needs to disassembled and reassembled, when youcall USCIS press 1-2-3 that way you can speak to a customer service representative and ask them have u ben sent a request for evidence that should prompt them to tell you something tangible, rather than "Your case is pending".I hope this helps

i wonder what this means?

My situation is similar. I was approved on May 5, got the letter a week later and now my online status says my petition was received on May 15 and is pending. WTH? Why o why do I even bother checking?! As the Immigration Specialist at my Congresswoman's office said, '...there is no rhyme nor reason as to why things are done the way they are at the USCIS....' I have yet to get an email about card production being ordered. There is definitely something screwy going on with the GC cards right now.

Dont look at your case status too much because if you do,it will drive you crazy.I have no idea whats going on with USCIS.Wait until June 05th if you dont hear anything sooner them enquire about your case dont let USCIS be any lazier than usual with your fuure.

QUOTE (Immigrant2009 @ Jun 5 2009, 01:10 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I am seeing this on VJ that USCIS has been sending multiple card production emails. So may be they are upgrading their system and it might be fixed later on. But I do understand that this definitely causes ####### moment.

So i called USCIS and the agent said that i should wait 8 weeks from the 04th June card production order to reciece my card.LOL i had been checking my mailbox since the 26th production order oh well.If i get my card in under 365 days fromn filing that will be a real pleasure but i doubt it.

QUOTE (CanAmCharlotte @ May 20 2009, 10:56 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Just wondering if anyone has contacted the USCIS to specifically ask if there is currently a problem with the card production process. It seems for awhile they were spitting them out within a week of approval and now they are not being generated at all. Seems whenever I call the hotline I get someone who must have just started the job that day; i.e.; they know less than I do about the immigration process! Maybe someone out there has had better luck getting to the bottom of things.

Thanks.

If it ain't one damn thing, it's another......

I totally agree CanAmCharlotte i called USCIS to ask about why i have not obtained my card as yet in the mail.In the system the dumb customer service representative was still telling me im not approved. They have no idea what they are doing or how to do their job.By giving the same redundant information over time. The woman told me call back in 30 days if i have not recieved my card.I have not even obtained an approval letter yet since 04/28/09 approval.I think its going to take up to three months to get my card. This is totally unacceptable. In the end i would have waited a year lol the exact year that VSC was not supposed to take to have card production ordered and to get out of this limbo.I am at the point now where i am not applying for citizenship i just want a break from USCIS period no more stress.

Hey, Triniwaiting
How did u get to talk to live customer service representative? What # did u call? We have been waiting 10 months, and every time I call them I can't reach an operator. All I get is an automatic answering machine saying that my case have been transferred to CSC and is now pending. Also, what exactly did you ask representative? Did u tell her that your case is outside of processing times or just asked her to check the status of your case?

When you call customer service press 1 then 2 then 3 and you will be transferred to a customer service person. She asked me what did i need help with i said i have two issues.Issue A my case has been pending for almost ten months and issue B was there an interview request being sent or a request for more documents that i never received in the mail. She asked me for my address my name my Alien number and receipt number. She said my case has been transferred i said i know that then she asked me what does my I797 NOA say that my status has been extended for one year to work and to travel.I said i never got that letter, only the biometrics letter. She then put me on hold and came back on the line and said that cases are being processed in California in under 6 months which i already knew ,she then transferred me to an Officer. She did that and thats when i found out.The point is when you enquire about your case and they say"Your status is pending" You need to drill in how long you have been waiting and make them aware that you already knew you were pending. To anyone who has been transferred and waiting as long as or longer than myself Call USCIS.Because my online case status has not been touched since the 02-27-2009 still saying application received.

well there is more! VSC has also started to approve the applicants who files after us (after Nov 2008) because they were not transfered so only we are in limbo. As CSC is almost going to finsih VSC tranfers applications it looks like they lost our applications, it is very common at USCIS

Please dont say the may have lost our files LOL thats just terrible to think of but i have to laugh if they did.To not get upset.

No dice - sorry. I met my fiance here in America at a dinner party. I do know several folks who met online, and later married (including my sister). No real recipe for success, each to his/her own! Good luck.

Yeah I have no doubt! When we met we had a number of obstacles that were significant enough that I kept thinking it was better to put him out of my mind and try to meet someone that I could reasonably be with (i.e. someone local, among other things), but any time I met someone I would subconsciously compare him to Jamie and no one else could even come close to measuring up. I gave up on that idea a couple of years ago. Five years later, I am still completely fascinated by him!

The question in my post came to mind after reading that someone had their interviewer remark that the majority of the cases they see are online meetings. The internet is obviously great for bringing people together that would never have crossed paths otherwise.

My Viktoria is from Ukraine, and there is no doubt that most American/Ukrainian couples meet online or through agencies. In my opinion there is nothing wrong with either of those - whatever works. We are totally prepared for the Vice Consul, and every one else to believe that I bought her from a catalog or something. The point is, it doesn't really matter what other people think. They cannot possibly know your heart. That you consciously tried to put him out of your mind and couldn't tells all.
