The DOS will know (at least in my case) when you are eligible for scheduling.. just keep calling the DOS until they tell you that the letter has been sent and you are eligible... and (also in my case) the DOS knew before the call center at the embassy did!... and as far as the pin number I used mine many times (apx 20) and no problem...

it took 12-13 days from the time NVC sent the case until we were eligible to schedule!

It appears she is putting a little bit too much faith in a Phil Marriage Lic. I think if you explained it at the Embassy and say you want the LC2M I think they would give it to you. You can marry your wife as many times as you want and there is nothing illegal about it as long as you are honest. You can then get the Marriage lic and have it in hand and filled out by the Priest and Sponsors. She does realize that she will be filling a document with her gov that says she is not married to get the Marriage Lic. If she does this it could be construed that you did not have a bona fide marriage in the US and you just did it for visa. You can instruct the Priest / Church to not file the Lic with the NSO and it will never be recorded there but you will have that priceless Lic your Wife wants. If she wants an NSO certified copy I don't know as the church would have to file the actual marriage lic after the wedding to get that. If you do not notify the NSO of the marriage in US then it would probably go through but you would have a different Marriage date on file.

It sounds like your wife to be really does not understand all the implications. Should not the marriage be about you and her and making your oath to God? You need to ask her if she will honor and accept the marriage if you have it in the US? If not then you need to change your plans as the commitment you are making may not mean the same to her as the one you are making. Anyway that is my 2 cents.


Well since the time I oroginally started this.. she and I have talked this out and she now understands that once we register our marriage with the phillipine embassy here in the US then our marriage will then be recognized there as well.. and she is good with that..

Well, I think if I understand her train of thought correctly... even though philippine govmt recognizes the us license.. She just WANTS license from the phils. I know that it is not necessary but.. If it will make her happy and it something that she wants then I will make my best effort to get it for her..

And her wanting it is based upon the fact that in the PH there is "no Divorce" and I think she wants me to make that commitment to her..

no... I dont just think I know she wants me to make that commitment... LOL and I have no issues with that at all.. She is a special lady and I never plan to let her go anyway...

Thanks for all the good info... our marriage in the Philippines wont happen for a year or more, but tonight its not busy here at work and seemed like a good time to gather info for the future... so thanks again for the help... and she will be glad to hear that we can indeed get a license there as well as here..

2 months ago you could book from Dallas to Manila for $800 roundtrip.

Hopefully after Christmas is over, and gas / oil price go down, there will be some more great deals on flights to PI.

JUST CALL 1-888-877-9888 from the US. follow the computer prompts... thats it... have your case number, your SO's name address in the phils, email address, and a credit card. oh and a pen to write down the pin number.

kicking.gif I want to just thank everyone that has help us up to this point... and the help wasnt always in the form of answering questions.. sometimes it has been in pure entertainment.. The last 9 months has been probably the most difficult process that I have ever gone through... with emotions running from the highest points of happiness to the lowest feelings of despair..

The waiting is horrible... but the "not knowing" and Government mis-information and lack of transparency is the worst... when you know that at each and every step on this journey your lives can be derailed by someone that could have spilled a cup of coffee on themselves that morning... and just be plain Pi$$ed at the world... it fuels doubt.. and fear..

But again Thanks to all! I wish only the best for everyone.. May God smile on you for the rest of your lives!
