Edited to say that a possible problem may be getting the documents to the correct area of the Embassy. If you have ever been, you saw the facility is pretty big. There is never an application fee or processing fee for the REAL DV lottery site, unless of course you win and then u have to pay the visa fees. Middle East and North Africa	Husband needs airport visa?	It depends on the airlines, my husband traveling prior to receiving his green card had the same problem when going through Amsterdam. But because he remained with the same airline for the connecting flight he was able to avoid getting a transit visa. IF he had changed airlines he would have needed one. They wouldn't let him connect through Frankfort at all stating he would need a transit visa no matter what if he flew through there. I think it depends on the airlines and the airports and the agreements they have with the country the airport is in. I understand that any false or misleading statement may result in the permanent refusal of a visa or denial of entry into the United States. I understand that possession of a visa does not automatically entitle the bearer to enter the United States of America upon arrival at a port of entry if he or she is found inadmissible. So he must lie on these two questions and possibly face a lifetime ban if caught or he must be honest and be refused the visa. Don't see how there is any way to get out of the misrepresentation thing. It is asked on the application for the visa which you must fill out to obtain a visa. But I really think it doesn't matter since he most likely will not get a tourist visa and/or there is not enough income/assets to meet the requirements for AOS. Middle East and North Africa	Does anyone know if you are denied if they. . .	Yes the name checks are getting faster but still there is little that can be done to speed them up. A writ of mandamus may be useful after a few years........but one must remember it cuts both ways. It is an Order for the case to be completed in a certain number of days, that can be an approval or denial. Obviously they are not going to approve a case without the security checks having been done so it might result in a denial of the visa. I would only consider a writ of mandamus as a last resort after trying all other avenues and waiting for at least two years. My hubby went home and didn't need a transit visa because his flight changed in Amsterdam which was a hub of the airline he was flying. But for him to take a flight through Frankfort would have required a transit visa. You only have a few months left, put on a big smile and be the nicest, kindest person you can to him and keep telling yourself it is only for a few months. The problem will be going through immigration at Atlanta, not something I am familiar with but I would think 1.5 hours would not be enough, maybe if you were just changing flights ok, but not to go through the checkpoint. Maybe an attorney can advise her how to correct this problem and maybe there is no way to correct it. Middle East and North Africa	should we get it done legally?	Stop, take a deep breath, let it out slowly. Ok, they are worried about this being a real relationship. The religion issue is not a big thing, employment on your part is not a big thing. I do think having a letter of approval from your parents would be helpful given the Muslim culture. What they are more worried about is do the two of you really know each other and are you ready to commit to each other. I don't remember Ali being asked anything about religion during his interview, in fact he said the entire interview was only three minutes long. Just be calm and sincere and everything will go fine. They may send someone out to interview your fiance/spouse, their family, neighbors, etc. to determine it the relationship is legitimate. Usually they just ask a few questions such as do you know this person, do you know they are married/engaged?
