It means they received your response to they're RFE (I'm guessing they sent you one). Thats all it means really.

Weird thing is, nikkis, your timeline doesn't show an RFE...

Edit: Oh, woops, but your signature does. Sorry about that.

I'm guessing she probably mailed her IMBRA RFE back to them a week or so ago, and they are now confirming receipt of it (as with most of us it took a week or so for them to acknowledge they received it)

Um, yes, I think you're right. I read the timeline too quickly.

Hey All,
I know someone else has probably asked this, but what does this mean? and is there anyone else who has recieved this notice from CSC and gotten approved? Someone needs to teach CSC how to write sentences that are understandable. Don't get me started on CSC! :help:
Wouldn't I recieve a written decision anyway, why am I not getting one of the friendly approved e-mails?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTo those recently approved at CSC

Hey everyone,
You lucky folks that were approved recently from CSC, out of curiosity how many of you received touches a day or so before your approval actually came?

No touches for a few weeks. One touch the day of the approval, but no change in the online message. And one more touch the day after the approval telling me "your case was approved on (yesterday's date)." :)

I hope this info is useful. :)

Thanks! and everything in your timeline is extremely close to mine... I'll just be happy to get it in August after not knowing with all this IMBRA #######.

And the conclusion Eric is that they dont know what they are doing at the CSC. I got touched two days before my approval for two days in a row. But some people dont get touched at all. No rhyme or reason. I think they have a craps table at the CSC and they just throw the dice down. If you have both of the numbers that were rolled on the dice in your Registration Number then you get to advance to the next stage. Good luck to you

I agree

The stakes just rose as I was apparently touched tonight... so praying for the best

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresE-mail evidence???

New to the process and have a question about e-mail evidence. Been e-mailing for 6 months. Only a couple of times a week. She doesn't own a computer and has to go to an internet cafe. I have been saving most of my e-mail letters to her and her letters to me. I copy and paste into microsoft works and then print out a hard copy. I sometimes annotate the date, but not always.

Is this good enough? Should I be saving a different way? If so, How?
I am sure most of us talk with our significant other via the web.
For the people who have submitted their applications and or those who got approval. How did you guys/girls save and submit your e-mail evidence?

Mahalo(thank you), Kino

Most email applications that I know of have Printable views intergrated, so you should be able to print the email directly from your email account.

I don't think it will be a problem, 24k, and 37k is both over the poverty guidelines.

I don't think they look at the tax returns so much as to say how much money you've been making, as to show a history of employment.

If he's making 37k now, and he has a letter from his empolyer stating that, everything should be fine.

I agree with Kat, I would think it would take even longer if you refilled. It looks like your RFE was received around the same time as mine, so hopefully that means an approval extremely soon!

some of these so called loved ones dont deserve to come here.
The US has been victimized for years with fraudulent family based visas. They are finally cracking down on them. Read the article post recently by Ellis Island. This is the reality.

What is the pain by the way??...if you have a valid relationship...you have nothing to worry about.
Also, maybe you have not read the entire IMBRA law. Although I support the part of the law that requires the petitioner state his past criminal history, should he have one, do you think it is correct that a US Citizens must provide personal information to a woman before he can simply say "Hello" to them? I can tell you I surely don't. Did you know that was also part of the IMBRA law? This however, is a completely different debate.
Please send me the exact reference in the actual law that states this.

Jen
Yes...I think its absolutely correct that she should know of your past if you have these kinds of problems. I would hate to be the women tha come here and finds out that her SO is an abuser, child molester, stalker, wife beater, etc. You seem to have a problem with this.

I have no idea what you mean that you have to furnish this information to say hello....I would think that the hellos have been said long ago before you reach this stage of your relationship. I guess that you mean that you have to furnish this information to the Marriage Broker before you go on this junket to meet all these beautiful 28 year old Russian women that are going to fall in love with a 60 year old bld headed guy that weighs 280 pounds. My friend....this is the intent of the law...what part dont you understand???

Im not saying that this applies to you....but it does happen.
You seem to not read my posts correctly. I stated I had no problem with the USCIS doing additional background checks, and having the petitioner state and provide documents of a criminal background (of which I do not have). I believe it is very good for the woman to receive this information at the Consulate prior to getting her Visa.

The problem is they do not define Marriage Brokers appropriately. I personally would consider what you describe a Marriage Broker, however I would not describe a website that runs the same way a Match.com, or Yahoo Personals does a Marriage Broker. However, they are included as Marriage Brokers. So, when I say you need to submit background information before you can say hi, I'm speaking about saying hi in an email, even if thats as far as it ever goes. I don't know about you, but giving out more information than I'm comfortable with to someone I don't even know yet, doesn't seem right, and could also be dangerous in terms of fraud.

Also, to my knowledge there is no law to protect the US Citizen in this same situation. Many of those woman are exactly what you said before, people trying to buck the system. Many are Prostitutes etc. etc. So in a circumstance such as this, why should we have to provide them with a background history, and they do not? Also, to the best of my knowledge, this applies to all US Citizens, meaning women who want to contact a foreign man needs to do the same.

Now, yes during the K-1 process they get a criminal background check, and yes we get a more extensive one now, I have NO problem with this. I think it is very good, and is needed. Not that I will ever need a service such as I mentioned seeing how I'll be married soon.

You mean cracking down on people trying to follow the laws of immigration, as opposed to the millions of those that walk across our borders illegally every year?

Also, maybe you have not read the entire IMBRA law. I agree with wolf here. We have the right to contact our elected reps anytime we want. After all, we put them there, and oh yeah we pay they're salaries.
Jen
It is not actually worded like that in the law.

However, it requires that "Marriage Brokers" (however they actually classify them) get background information from someone who would like to contact a woman, before he actually says hi to her or makes any sort of initial contact. The background information is then viewed by the woman.

If you look at a Marriage Broker website (I found this one for example www.latineuro.com) because of IMBRA people are required to complete a profile with "background" information regarding themselves (I do not know what information exactly required though).

If you go to this link on that website, it gives a Q/A about how IMBRA changed things in regards to this, to a certain extent. http://www.latineuro.com/qa.html

This is the only part of the law I was not comfortable with. To me it would be like carrying around a background print out in my back pocket when I went to a club and wanted to talk to a woman. First I'd have to give it to her friend, then she would give it to her, then she would tell her friend if it was ok for me to say hello to her or not. But, again that is a different debate for a different place.

They did the same thing to me in Sao Paulo when I was returning from my month visit. I was waiting to get my ticket, and I was pulled aside, brought into another room and everything I had was searched.

Wasn't a big deal, and in the end was actually joking around with the guy about him wanting to take away my cigarette ligther. I asked him if I could keep it till I boarded because I still had 2 hours to wait for my plane, and I wouldn't make it two hours, then 9 hours on a plane without having a few smokes first. I ended up giving the lighter to a security guy that was outside smoking

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureslawyer?
Think you'll find a pretty mixed bag of opinions here about Lawyers. Personally, if your case is straight forward it's a waste of money. You can get all the information the Lawyer can get on this website, and at times even more information. If your case isn't complicated, the paperwork, and process is straight forward (slow, but straight forward for the most part). Read the directions, double, triple check everything and you should not have a problem.

A Lawyer will not speed things up for you, and can often actually slow things down for you, as we've seen here many times. I considered hiring one at first also because I was overwhelmed with everything, but after I sat down, did some research, I realized it wasn't that difficult to do, you just need to pay attention.

For some folks it's all to nerve racking and hiring a Lawyer gives them some sort of comfort. So, if thats the case, and you don't mind paying for something that you can most likely do on your own, then a Lawyer might not be a bad idea. But, other than check over your papers, they really can't do anything else from what I can tell. They can't get evidence, or documents you need later on in the process for you, then can only tell you what to get, and you need to do it yourself anyway.

So, to me it's a waste of money, and can actually add to the aggravation of this process (ie. the Lawyer doesn't realize he has received an RFE for your case, and you end up waiting 3 months before he realizes his office received it, when normally it would have been mailed directly to your house). But, again if it gives you comfort, then I would do what you feel is best for you.

Our package has been touched twice since 1 Aug, which is great. I see the new dates when I log into the USCIS page, but I am not receiving email notifications. Did I misunderstand the USCIS status page? I thought I would get an email everytime the package was touched?
How do we know what they did with the package other than it has been touched? BTW congrats to all those who have been approved lately. Good Luck, Payato

When you get a touch you will not get an email, all that happens is the date on the USCIS website changes. Nobody knows what happens when you get touched exactly, could be someone moved your petition, looked at it etc.

You'll only get email notifications for things like RFE requests, RFE received responses, Approvals etc.

I know this has been asked before, but can't seem to find the posts.

Is sending a complete copy of the I-129F Petition to the beneficiary an absolute must for her interview, or only suggested?

Reason being, I just recently went through a move, and a box that contained a lot of my paperwork (important papers other than this to... gulp!) has gone missing. They moving company is looking for it, but there are no guarntees I will have it before the interview (if ever again).

I still have all the original proof that I had sent photo copies of in the petition though, just don't have the full petition photo copy at this time.

Will this, or could this be a problem? :(

P.S. I intend to fly to Rio and attened the interview with my fiance.
