I am well over the 125% poverty level for 2005 and 2006, but I was a student with little income in 2004. Do I need to file with a joint sponser?

My wife tax return for the last 3 years was so bad almost nothing because she wasn't working but she makes over 125 % now.and she sent them documents from the employers stating how much she makes and that she's full time and that was enough they approved our affidivat of support.

I don't have any wedding photos either. I have a video, but no photos. I think it would be good to have wedding photos, but it isn't necessary. Your marriage certificate is proof of a genuine marriage.

If the marriage certificate is enough proof of a genuine marriage nobody would be denied.

Well it depends on where you're from.here in morocco it takes 2 to 3 weeks.

I just called NVC and the automated system says that "they have reviewed the forms and found some information missing or incomplete." It also says that they have a sent me a letter on July 2. I talked with the operator and he said that there is no problem with my I1864 and this message means that they are requesting DS230 from me. I have sent the IV fee bill last week. Is this the standard NVC message telling me that my DS230 has been generated or the operater at NVC didn't know what he was talking about? :help:

No you can't send anything till you recieve the packet 3 form DS230.you should call and talk to an operator he will tell you if they generated the form DS230 or not.
again don't send it before you recieve the packet cuz if you did it will cuz dely in your case.

We are Lvivlovers and we sent our forms in March.


May be someone could help me with the advice,we are waiting almost 4 month for NOA2 for CR1 and K3 visa,but still there is no any results,

I begin to worry,because most of all I am crazy in love with my husband and I don’t want to miss any single day without him in this waiting process,
May be someone could answer me why the California Service Center can’t prove our forms still?

The processing time is different from center to an other and it depends on how many cases they're working on.

I read the James shortcuts and they look really helpful and time savers.I'm thinking of using them for the DS230 because it has already been generated but I havn't recieved it yet (Slooow f**cking mail).but I'm nervous about making the barcode.it's not a big deal I tried it and its easy to make but I'm just nervous I really don't wanna #### it up.has anybody used them before ? please share your experience.

Hi everybody.
after my wife submitted the affidivate of support and the NVC genrated IV fee bill, I checked the automated message and it said some information is missing.so I called NVC and talked to an opirator and he said that its just an automated message till they get the IV fee payment and that everything was ok. then I got the bill and I sent the payment and the NVC recieved it but the automated message still say some info is missing so I had to call and ask them again. and the opirator I talked to told me they recieved the payment and the form DS230 was generated and that everything was ok.
but till now the automated message still says the same thing, so I don't have a way to check on the case other than sending email wich takes forever to get an answer.my question is has anybody had the same problem and is their something I can do to let them update the messsage ?

I am preparing the documents to send with DS-230. For my country it is required to send birth certificate and police certificates translated to English. Does anybody know if I have to translate every piece in the certificates? I mean, do I have to translate each stamp, fingerprints, etc? Does anybody have a sample of a translated document?

A sworn certified translator can't translate just a part of a document and leave the other parts.so since you have to use a certified sworn translator he will translate everything in the paper.



I think it is not necessary to have a certified translator to translate the documents. On the site:

Its is required only:

"Translations

Applicants must obtain English language translations of any documents that are written in another language.

The translation must include a statement signed by the translator that states that the:

Translation is accurate, and
Translator is competent to translate. "

I really think the translator has to be certified because if it wasn't necessary why would you need a translator you can just translate them yourself :)

I called NVC and automated recording system notified me with this recording after sending DS-230



"The NVC has reviewd packet of forum and found information missing or incomplete. The NVC mailed the letter on July 5th 2007 Indicating what documentation was missing or incomplete. Please return this information to NVC to NH Once this information is received please allow 6 to 8 weeks then you will be notified of outcome of the review if it been 4 weeks since this day and you have not recieved our letter press 0"


I am wondering is this only me or same thing happen to everyone now days? I have already turned in I-864 and DS-230 paid all fees and also talked to NVC agent and he said its probably we are refering to DS-230 Which is not entred in system yet. I am wondering if anyone else has this recording played by nvc when they try to call after submitting DS-230

have a question about evidence of bonifide marriage, i filed for I-130 for my husband january 2005 when i was still a LPR, got my citizenship last june and upgarded it to IR/CR1 over the phone and by mail, now my question is, when i submitted the I-130 in 2005 such evidence was not required yet, will they ask for it soon as RFE's before they approve our I-130? because if they will, i should start gathering those paper works, or will they just ask for it during my spouse's interview? all feedbacks are greatly appreciated.. thanks!

we filed I-130 in Jen 2007 with the new version and we didn't send any evidence of bonifide marriage because my wife stayed with me in morocco for just a month so we didn't have any of the documentation they request. our I-130 was approved in March with no problem so I don't think they will ask you to submit anything else.

you said the NVC sent you the letter that said case complete that means you already sent form DS-230 and your spouse submitted the affidivat of support.if so why you sais in the first post you're waiting for packet 3 and you asked about DS-156 :blink: .
if you're filling for CR1/IR1 you won't need DS-156 and if you're already submitted form DS-230 and your case is complete you won't have to fill the form again.

I am almost finished with the NVC processing for I130. The only thing remaining is the DS-230. However, my wife is still in the process of getting her passport. According to the standard NVC processing, it mentions that I need to send the copy of the biographic page from my wife's passport. Has anyone tried just sending DS-230 and explaining to the NVC that the spouse is in the process of getting passport? My wife will definitely have her passport by the interview date. In my opinion you shouldn't risk your case being denied and you should just wait till your wife gets her passport.and I think you should find out if there is way to get passport faster.

The current I-130 instructions encourage petitioners to include documentation not previously requested on the old form. See below.

We've heard a lot about how people who have never lived together dealt with the above request but I'm curious to hear from people who filed in 2007 using the new form but either didn't see or ignored this request.

Has your I-130 been approved anyway? If not yet and no RFE, no need to answer. If you got an RFE, please let us know.

after submitting the packet 3 form DS-230.the automated message said some information is missing and they're sending a letter to let me know what's missing so I called and talked to an operator and he told me that the passport copy I sent didn't have the exepiration date in it,well I read in the instruction to send just the biographic date page wich it has the name and date,place of birth. and unlike the american passports that have the expiration date under the picture of the passport's owner the Moroccan passports have the experation date on a seperated page.
anyway the operator told me I can scan and send the copy of the passport to the NVC email and I won't have to wait for the letter to come from them.I'm just wondering if anybody has have tried something like this and if it worked ? :blink: :wacko: :blink:

When we submitted our DS-230 and we haven't heard from NVC, my husband called them to follow-up on our case. They told him we have missing documents. But I know I submitted all the necessary documents in their checklists. Anyways, they told my husband that we need not have to wait for the letter and that we can submit the missing documents to them so it can be processed.

This is what I did: I made a cover letter addressed to NVC stating what happened.
ATTENTION: CMR
NATIONAL VISA CENTER
32 Rochester Avenue
Portsmouth, NH 03801-2909

RE: _________ (write here your case number)
Petitioner: ____________
Beneficiary: ___________

Then write your letter.....
Then write your case number on the upper right hand corner of your documents (each page, if there are more than one). So if it gets lost/misplaced, they can easily find which file to put it in since it have a case number written on it.

after submitting packet 3 form DS-230 the NVC said I missed some information and after talking to an operator he told me the missing info is a copy of my passport expiration date page.
anyway now I don't wanna wait for the letter to come from the NVC so I'm wondering if somebody has or knows how to make the coversheet that NVC sends that's called Checklist Letter Response that I have to send back with the missing info.
I looked at James shortcuts but they don't have it there.

I called the NVC today and found out that my interview is scheduled for Oct the 2nd,but my case was forwarded to the consulate on September the 11th and normally it takes at least 20 days for me to get any packet from the NVC.so what am I supposed to do if I didn't get the packet 4 that has the phisical exame infomation and the appointement's letter before the interview's date ? blink.gif
any one can help plz ?

If your wife has never been in jail ,she doesn't need prison records but she has to get police certificate anyway she can get it from the police station its called in arabic ''hosn asira'' its not a big deal to get it.

I think you should write your family name even if its not used in ur passport .and I don't think its gonna be a problem because you will have to show them ur birth certificate wich has ur family name.

you're right but they require that The cosponsor must be an American citizen or Legal Permanent Resident of the United States. The cosponsor must submit proof of their status, wich birth cert will be a proof.

Hi everybody.
I'm getting ready to submit the co-sponsor documents but I wanna make sure I didn't miss anything.so I hope somebody would tell me if I did .
1) Original/signed form I-864 affidivate of support.
2) copies of tax return for most recent year (2006).
3) W-2 form.
4)copy of birth certificate.

I've read that some ppl say I need employment letter from co-sponsor's employer but it says in the I-864 instructions that you may submit them if you thought it would help, and since my co-sponsor made way over whats required for thier family household size plus me, I thought there is no need for that. so am I right blink.gif ?and is that all I need ?

She said I can do it through e-mail. I have never sent them anything through email before.

Can someone please advise wheather I should said it through e-mail or Priority Mail? I just want them to enter it into their system ASAP! since its already getting delayed for no apparent reason!
WHAT SHOULD I DO?! I NEED TO DO SOMETHING FAST!

PS: I have a lot of attachements (documents) that I would need to attach, tht wont be a problem will it?

I had to send some missing document to the NVC so I called them and the operator told me to just scan and email them. so I did and waited for like a week and I decided to mail them and not wait. and till today I've never got a respond for that email. thx god I didn't wait.
