US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	Calling everyone going thru Islamabad Embassy, version 2.0	ALHAMDULILAH!!!!! I don't know if I'm dreaming, but if I am I don't want to wake up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He called me at 4 am this morning to tell me he had his visa in his hand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Alhamdulilah!!! He was there most of the day but very simple - told the first Paki guy the info they had requested, waited an hour and a half and then an older american male consular asked him if he'd ever worked for the Taliban in any way, and he said "No way", and then the Paki lady translating said Congratulations - you're visa's approved... wait here and we'll get your visa for you - and another hour or so later, he left w/ visa and brown envelope in hand!!!!!!!!! 15 months since we filed and 199 days of AR/AP - but it's all done now!!!!!!!!!!! Alhamdulilah!!! We're hoping to have him here in a week or two insha'Allah - I'm still in utter shock and disbelief - at a minimum I thought they would give it to him a day later - OMG!!!! For all of you waiting, there is light at the end of the tunnel insha'Allah!!! Thank you all soooo much for all the support and well wishes - I would have never survived this w/o all you fellow VJers!!!! Congratulations!!!!I cannot even imagine how happy you must feel:) Insha Allah he wll be with u soon now! I had been getting ready for work when I found out. anyways... I called the DOS. they said that on June 30th -ISL requested a follow up on our pending security check. well a few days ago. Ironicly, I called some big cheeze wiz about our case. ohhh man this person was pizzed at me. after begging and pleading I got the much needed help at this point we are CLEARED - let me say that chit again.. WE ARE CLEARED- THE SECURITY freaaaaaaaaaaaaaking checks. now, we are waiting for ISL to respond to the CABLE and make a dayum decison. yall are the first to know. Javed dont know yet. he likes to turn his cell phone off when he sleeping- the nerve of him I wanted to share this important news with you all. so hopefully we get this done next week. sinceee Javed medical expired we gotta get another one dayuummmm itt.. its ok.. It's way too late for me to do that now, but I'm just curious if I should kick myself for not doing it. :-) Hi Sqtb I filed a DCF in Islamabd for my husband. The condition is that u must have been livin in Paki-for at least 6 months They I-130 is approved within 6 months also. I don't know how long it takes for the I-130 to be approved in the US. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Petitioner waiting for I-130 with beneficiary, in that latter's country?	hey dhobee:) first of all-since he applied for a female, it weird they are taking so long to get back to you... I am a US citizen and applied for my husband. To prove i had domicile i went to the US-worked for a bit and stayed without him for about 9 months...it was really hard living alone there as i had no one else there with me...and i just said forget it and came back...i thought that if they bring up any problem, then i can go back to the US-i came back to paki in mid oct...have been there ever since...we are still waiting for security clearance..he already had his interview in sept..and i went back to pakistan a few weeks later.he asked someone at the ISB embassy and one person said its ok for her to come back-and one person said she shldnt stay past 6 months..i even called USCIS and they said its okay to go..its really confusing since no one really has one answer.. why dont u call the ISB embassy and find out...call and find out why ur I-130 is still not approved..even in pakistan it takes a MAXIMUM of 6 months to get approved... can he get his name on a lease with someone else? maybe that can show he has a place..and bills etc can show...keep a bank statement and all.. take care! regards saeedeh My husbands rents an apartment so there aren't any mortgage payments, property, etc. There are no items that are on lease, or we are really confused on how he can go about demonstrating domicile in the US. He cannot take FMLA or other long-term leaves, as the employer wouldn't allow that. homesick_american, That's great for people who are applying for visas in London. Unfortunately, dhobee is not applying in London, they are applying in Pakistan. I suspect that the consulate there is a bit stricter in its' consideration of the domicile requirement. Yodrak London's domicile standards are pretty loose. You don't actually have to have domicile in the USA anymore; all that is necessary is intent to re-establish it, according to the US Embassy in London's website and the forms I filled out in 2006. Nobody asked either of us about our employment prospects. dhobee, He will have to demonstrate that in leaving the USA to live in Pakistan he has not abandoned his US domicile. Visa approval does not come from the USCIS, it comes from the consulate. Yodrak Thanks Yodrak, It should not be a problem for us to find a co-sponsor at the time of the interview. What we are worried about is that whether the embassy would create a fuss about him having left the US to live in Pakistan for the time being; and, if his moving to Pakistan will cause an outrageous delay in visa approval from the USCIS. Thanks dhobee, The visa application process is going to suffer when it comes time to demonstrate that the visa applicant (you) meets the public charge provisions of the law unless either the visa applicant or their petitioner has a fair amount of money that they can live off of for quite some time, or the visa applicant has someone other than the petitioner to sponsor them. Yodrak We applied for I-130 in April, 2006 and the case is still pending with the USCIS. Because it has been so long, we have been considering alternate plans. If nothing comes up for us till May, 2007, we have decided (hoping against hope, still) that my husband, the petitioner in this case, will leave his job in the US and return to Pakistan... wait till I-130 gets approved, I get the visa and then, we'll move to the US together. . . . Our questions are: 1. Has anyone tried this before? 2. Can a petitioner leave US like this and still have the I-130 processing continue ? 3. Asia: South	Co-Sponcer for K1 visa Pakistan	You should search this topic this has been discussed a lot because of the recent experiances at interviews. The reality is there is NO regulations that clearly define this, sometimes they allow it and other time they refuse. Something similar to the Admin Process which can take 2 to 3 weeks others have been on it for years! Good luck with searching for an answer if you get clarification please share it with us. Asia: South	Co-Sponcer for K1 visa Pakistan	One of the member’s asked the embassy for clarification on the view the embassy replied "the use of a cosponsors is to the discretion of the interviewing agent" so in essense it is totally up to the interviewing agent. Generally if they do not see any other issues with the case they will not bring this up as a issue. It means there isn't any kind of US Law which doesn't allow co-sponsorship for K1 Visa for Pakistan if I am not wrong it all depends on the CO either he/she prove co-sponsor or decline but i am not satisfied with above mention Answers still haven't got the clear image yet . need more comments please .	ariez	Male	Pakistan	10/4/2012 13:26

It takes only 2 to 3 weeks for an appointment.If you provided an email for contact check junk mail for the appointment letter. The embassy will just give you the run around specially Islamabad.Call NVC in USA they have all the information available and they are a bit more easy to contact and much more helpful in my experience. Follow my time line everything happened pretty much on time except our interview was delayed because of Eid and Ramadan you should have estimated same time process.
