Its better to send originals to NVC coz i sent them certified copies and they issued me RFE so had to send them original nikka nama and my wife original birth certificate so its better off send them original they will give u back on interview day. good luck.

Remember to send the nikah nama in urdu along with english translation

It's better to send originals along with certified copies. I've seen the ISL ask for originals (even tho they had the certified copies) at interview taking more time to issue visa.

We sent both originals and certified copies and they gave my husband back the originals at the interview.

Guys i am going to ask interesting question at the end of the question please read it carefully.

2.5 years Ago i had engagement and after engagement my fiancee filed k1 on my behalf after k1 interview in islambad they put our case in admin process and almost 2 years of admin process islambad embassy told me on the phone that they assume we are married instead of fiancee and we are going to send your case back to U.S

After this information my long waiting end up and finally we went for marriage here in Pakistan, our marriage was already late due to admin process, when we married 2nd day i got case update via email from nvc that that our k1 is approved and ready to deliver visa but after marriage k1 was not valid visa for us which is told by NVC agent to my wife.

After that my wife filed IR1 on my behalf and i am having my IR1 interview on Oct 13.
My question is that as embassy accepted itself that they come up to know that we are married(That time we were not) now can they put our case again in admin process ? or it may be quick any idea or suggestion?

Did u pay 420- I-130, 88$ for the AOS, and 400 for the DS-230? U don't need to pay anything else. Unless I am wrong


Yes i have paid all above listed fee already.

The pakistan site says the visa fee is due the same day but i take it as k1 visas are due that day to be paid but cr1 visa fees should be paid and forwarded the info to the consulate so it is known the same day as being paid in advance... ISL does things a little diff LOL :bonk:


Ok i understand now, i belive no fee have to pay during interview.

IR1 interview held on oct 13 2011 it was good experience councilor was old man conducted my interview was polite.

he asked me for proofs and asked questions about me and my wife

I proved them following proofs

last 5 months phone logs
Marriage certificates
Post cards sent by my wife
Wedding pictures.

at the end he said before we take decision provide us more proofs when you go back and put my case in admin process.
I asked to Councillor what proofs you want? he said, emails, ring receipts, money transfer proofs or what ever to show your marriage is real

I asked to councillor how much time it may take during admin process, he said it may take 4 or 5 months.

Today I sent them additional proofs.

1- medical insurance document listed my wife.
2- Internet telephone logs since 2010
3- Day to day email since 2008 till now
1- Wedding ring and jewellery receipts
2- Western union transfer receipts I sent money to my wife 1 time after marriage.

I am upset... my wife is waiting for me in U.S and i am sticking here.

No.. Unfortunately nobody can help get you out of the AP until the embassy clears you. You would just be wasting your money. You only began the AP there are those of us so stuck.. Carolyn is 10 months and counting and we are at 4 months ourselves but all we can do is wait for them to do the work and clear the beneficiary. Once that is done it wont take much time to complete. From everything I read lately the ap average times is from 4-6 months and those that are longer are not sooo many.. we just read about it more because they are so frustrated and they have that right so they are posting needing advice and help.

Just take it day by day... some days are easier ..some days are harder.. Best of luck!

Visa petition cannot be "Switched" you will be filing a new petition.

Something did not add up with the consulate, any prior marriage?? Divorce finalized after filing that I-129F?? Fail to disclose a prior marriage?

Depending on what the consulate noted on prior petition it may come back and bite you on a spouse petiton.

If USCIS issues a Notice of Revocation on the K-1, you will need to address the revocation notice, not doing so can get a mark of inadmissibility placed on your spouse for misrepresentation, which is a hard BAR on admission.


When embassy returned my passport i called embassy next day and tried to find out reason they thought i am married not engaged and trying to hide my marriage, i asked my fiancee to call NVC and tell them you are comming Pakistan to get marry they said write us a letter and tell you wana revoke k1...

Do you still think it will bite our shaddi visa ?

I filed k1 2 years ago and after interview in U.S embassy Islamabad my case was in admin processing. Now after 2 years they returned my passport and other documents without any information letter.
Next day when i called U.s embassy Islamabad they said we are in doubt you are married thats why we have sent your case back to U.S and some one misguide you about the visa you should visa married visa.

It is more then 3 months after this information in U.S embassy Islamabad and my fiancée didn't get any letter regarding denial of case, finally we come-up with the solution to get marry, she is vising in Feb and we will marry soon.

My question is after getting marry should we only need to submit marriage certificate as asked by U.S embassy Islamabad agent when i talked to them or we need to file case from scratch ? also in new immigration policy what may be the time duration i heard now it takes 5 months.

I'm sure if USCIS knows that your visa is cancelled, ( and they do right?!?!? ) then NVC doesn't need to know. That is just my advice

U.S Islambad embassy sent case back to U.S but NVC have not sent any informing letter to my fiancée about k1 cancellation.

Now my fiancée coming Pakistan next week to get marry how we inform them to cancel our k1 processing if any or what is the acknowledged procedure in my situation. and should we inform NVC about our marriage and k1 cancellation or we should leave it as it is

My fiancée filled k1 almost 2.5 years ago then i went to Islamabad U.S embassy for k1 interview they put our case in admin process and after 2 year they end up with denying that by mistake we filed wrong petition of k1 we should file marriage case b/c embassy think we are married not engaged, due to these un-certain circumstances our marriage went delay almost 2 years, now last month we got happily married.

Islamabad embassy says we have sent case back your case to USCIS but USCIS says we didn't received any thing yet, this drama continues around 3 month.

Now my wife want to file marriage case but before filing we will have to cancel k1 petition first, tell me what is the process to cancel and make sure before filing marriage case that our k1 is canceled.

If no signature is allowed, I don't see why a digital one would be a problem. However, I think you missed the part about how not all USCIS employees know about this rule. My recommendation is that if you aren't going to sign and mail it with an original signature, that you type "Will sign at Consulate" in the signature space.


I don't want to get into any trouble due to this small thing i can do sign and sent to my wife from here by fedex or DHL
