K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Post NOA2 to NVC	I received my NOA2 just a week ago.  According to the timeline in our guides, I should give it about two weeks before calling the NVC; however, I've noticed a lot of people stating that it's taking longer than that.  My file was sent to Texas from the beginning (no transfer).  Also, on the USCIS website, does it update when it is sent to NVC? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Received NVC Case number	Hey, congrats first of all! My petition was approved Sept 27th at TSC, so we're a day behind you. What do you mean by an update on Oct 4th that it was sent to NVC? Is that the NOA2? I received that Oct 3rd... I've been trying not to think about this whole thing because of the government shutdown, should I give NVC a call and ask? Thank you!   On the 4th USCIS updated my status saying they sent it to the Department of State.  I called on the 15th of October to the NVC and they had my case.  I took my case number and a day later tracked it to see that it was in transit to Vancouver.   If you're that close behind me, call NVC. I really could use some information on why they sent two. Is it because the previous detail was incorrect and was altered or are you suppose to receive two letters? The service center in California received our package October 4th and they sent a Notice of Action dated October 8th stating that, they received it and it was being processed but it was very brief almost like a reciept. I noticed the country of birth was incorrect for my foreign fiance so I called the US service center back in october and they fixed it immediately. Monday in the mail I received another notice of action in the mail basically saying the same thing that they received it and it was the correct amount, but I noticed a number above my fiances name, maybe like an alien number? No idea... But this notice of actions said the same as the last, but was way more wordy.. Can you have two first actions of notice or any idea what might be going on? I remember your last post about it and I thought there is no way they would call back considering their "fantastic" customer service. It is nice to see them showing at least some respect to their clients. Do you think it will take that long? I thought 8,5 months is the max but now I see posts about taking it a year from noa1 to noa2. Can't imagine that.... It's so frustrating to imagine what should take 5 months is now doubling and even more frustrating knowing this is just one step and not the final "yes" if you will.. Personally, I'm freaking out, I believe all I-129F applicants are freaking out, but we can turn this into an interest group and some, now including myself, are going to start contacting our House Representatives and Senators, who too "work for us" in hopes that honest answers or a push in the forward direct will occur. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	USCIS announced today 1 year timeline for K-1 Apps	Probably their reasoning for not sending I-129F petitions to local offices for adjudication like they did for I-130 petitions. We are lower priority. It's not fair but truly and honestly there's nothing to do but wait it out. I don't know if anyone has started a whitehouse.gov petition about this yet but if it gets 100,000 signatures in 30 days then someone in the Administration has to respond in some fashion. It's not a solution but it may light a spark. This is a great idea!! How can we get involved in this? I'm ready to sign. I also can get involved to get several hundreds if not thousands of others willing to sign as well. And with this affecting so many people around this world. We expected to get our NOA2 in march, and originally we were hoping to have my fiance from the UK here in late june and the wedding in August, but now I see that was thinking way too hopeful! lol But, now that I'm thinking more realistically, I'd be happy to have an approval by June, and then hopefully the benefits center and embassy moves at a quicker pace! For those who said contacting our congressperson and/or senator was a waste of time, you are proof this wasn't a waste of time, and so I've seen from several others this week, that something can be done! I contacted one of my congressmen a few weeks ago and they told me there was nothing they could do. I'm going to try and contact my senators now. Hello,     2 weeks ago we got approved by the NVC and our case was forwarded to the Immigrant Visa Unit in the UK. We were informed by many people that when the IMV receive the case that we'll receive a package from them usually within a week's time.   It's been 2 weeks reaching three weeks and I was wondering if any of you knew if this is average waiting time or if they are behind. I tried calling their number on the london.usembassy.gov and they informed me to call another number which did not work.   There are some people my fiancee follows on here who have the same timeline as ours, when they started etc,  and they had received their approval from NVC with a 1-2 day difference to ours and 4 days later received their packet 3.   I was just wondering if any one could give me some insight on how I can resolve this. Many have suggested E-Mailing but many are also saying they will disregard your E-Mail if you don't have a code and by code do people mean the Case number or?       Another thing I must ask also is during my search for a number to call, I went through the FAQ to which I read that after you complete the Packet 3 documents and send them back that you may have to wait approximately 3 months  while they process.   Is this also fairly accurate or are they simply suggesting you should prepare yourself for 3 months wait just in case?	futuremrsmoniz	Female	Guernsey	2013-06-04 07:35:00

But I still have enquiries	You shouldn;t need the police cert, unless possibly you;ll be applying to work with kids etc.  The passport should be outside the brown envelope       OK. Thank you.     What about Birth Certificate though? They don't have my original but they have a certified copy from my Embassy.   Would I need that one? But I still have enquiries	your file in the MYsterious Brown Envelope contains the birth cert, police cert  etc.  So you won't need copies for immigration, but you also won;t get the stuff back.  It would be a good idea to bring copies of the birth cert, marriage cert etc as you may need them in your future life for various things.   Oh...OK. What about my passport though since they have it? But I still have enquiries	Hello VJ,     On August 1st 2013 I was approved by the US Embassy in London and I'm really excited and glad that this has happened considering the time and effort it has taken us to fight this process for the past few months.   I will be flying off to America on August 15th but I have some questions concerning my travelling. Now I know I will receive an envelope with documents inside which I must hand to the Officer over in America and I am NOT allowed to open the envelope but I have some questions.     Is that all I must provide the Officer? Do I still need to bring my Police Certificate, Sponsor Support Forms, Birth Certificate etc. Or will this envelope just contain all of this information?     I know I must bring my medical results and various other things with me but I don't think that's for the Officers eyes but more for when I start to settle into America and apply for Citizenship.   I just want to know before I start packing because I don't want to put important documents in my suitcase instead of my hand luggage and then asked for it and I don't have it on me.       Thank you for reading this post.         Ricardo	futuremrsmoniz	Female	Guernsey	2013-08-03 06:11:00

Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.   we sent our application on march 29, 2013. got our noa1 april 3,2013. and noa2 july 9, 2013. no rfe.   it was only 97 days.   i am the beneficiary and my usc fiance said he did not receive any text or email from uscis. we will forever be grateful to everyone here on vj. all we did was follow all procedure and didn't have to hire a lawyer.     congratulations!!!!	ricpope	Male	Dominican Republic	2013-07-10 18:03:00
