I said I did not know the exact reason for the rejection but I was given a form saying section 214b. CO seemed happy with this and moved on to different question. End result was visa approval. By now all consulate officers should have received the proper training on how to deal with same sex couples after Section 3 of DOMA was repealed. Once they do, they should contact your fiancée and give her the instructions on the medical exams, interview, etc. So no need to rush like Mirhen said. If you see on the website that the Embassy already received the documents and she has not been contacted yet then she can write an email or call the embassy. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Joint bank accounts. How?	I know what you mean! My partner had also the same problem, they didn't let him put me in his account at Commerce Bank. He was able to put me on his Walmart credit card though and Citi Bank too. Then I also opened an account in Bank of America with only my passport, it's a simple checking account but I was able to put him in that account. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Do I need to withdraw my petition?	I am Mexican and my sister is a US citizen. She filed a I-130 petition for me  in 2008. I got married to a US citizen in 2009 in Mexico and we then moved to South Korea. We lived for 4 years in South Korea and we were planning to go back to Mexico but while visiting the USA my wife got a very good job offer and we decided to stay in the US. Now we plan to file a I-130 so I can become a permanent resident. The last update I got from my sister's petition was in 2010, there were no visas available and they would let me know when they became available. Basically the waiting for brother/sisters category can be more than 10 years. It was pretty much the same as the VJ estimated date - and According to your timeline: Estimates/Stats : Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between May 8, 2012 and May 12, 2012*. If this date range has passed or your application is past due per USCIS processing times then you should consider calling the USCIS to inquire on your petition. We just got our interview date set for in June - i know its for a different country, however, we got our NOA2 APR 12. and it took a month for it to go thru NVC and be sent out to the embassy (Sent out on May 10.) then another week and a half to get and return packet 3. So I know this part is quicker, but you do need to allow a few weeks to a month for NVC to receive and process. I am going to my fiance's interview as well and i just purchased my ticket yesterday - i waited until we had the interview date set to purchase the ticket - we put the interview off by 2 more weeks so I could get decent airfare. So, to answer your question If at all possible i would wait until u have an interview date set or that you at least know your petition has been sent out by NVC - it is possible for petitions to be pulled for AP at NVC and this would mess up your timing.	agrabs	Female	Romania	2012-05-24 22:07:00

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	How do people do this??	The previous messages were great. My fiance and I haven't filed yet due to his schooling. We are waiting to it gets closer to his completion time frame. However, what do you do when they are so busy with their job, church activities, and schooling and you seem to see the communication level is dwindling slightly? (Plus the time difference) He is trying, but it still is seeming to not be enough for your emotional connection to sustain. Also, it has become harder for him to skype you because buying the internet minutes is becoming a financial burden on him. You on the other hand have completed your degrees, your job is time consuming, but not that time consuming and you are busying yourself, but it is still hard to focus on anything else but them and our situation AND you're in a location with no friends or family. *I know I need to pray more and possibly even fast for more patience.* Any scriptures of reference to this situation is welcomed. What else would you recommend to keep the relationship fresh and try to stimulate the conversation back to the point where it was like a complete meal, satisfying.... It does get very difficult with the time difference. Maybe try picking a date night where u pick a day each week to meet up on skype for a "date". That way you could make the most of the internet minutes and it would give u something to look forward to. My fiance and I skype and message a bit everyday, but we pick one of the weekend days to meet up for our "date" and we spend the day together on skype.	agrabs	Female	Romania	2012-05-27 09:04:00

At times, the wait has been absolutely agonizing. Even as recently as a couple of weeks ago when it seemed like our petition was never going to get sent out from NVC to the embassy i didn't think i was going to scrape up enough patience to get through it. This week when I purchased my plane ticket to visit him for the interview I suddenly realized that OMG if all goes well, he is going to be here in a few weeks. LOL - I've got so much to get done first! Now it doesn't seem like there is going to be enough time to get everything finished to get the place ready before he gets here! So use your time to plan for when she gets here. get your life organized! There is nothing easy about the wait - Hang in there and keep busy! Still nochange. Nothing has happened yet. Still waiting:( they have not transferred my case yet At least i know now that i am not the only one! Not that it makes it any better, but I just kept thinking wth? everyone seems to zoom right thru NVC and i am wondering whats going on with my petition that is holding it up. As of today, my petition still has not left NVC It is so frustrating - almost more so than waiting for the NOA2 because i knew that wait would be long, and everyone kept saying how fast it would go once it got to NVC, however, our petition is one of the lucky ones that got pulled to undergo additional processing and they will give no time frame on when it will be be sent to the embassy. I can't tell you how disappointing it is to think you are finally on your way (i know - its only the beginning of the journey) only to be stuck at NVC. When I called NVC they said they didn't have my petition. Then when I called back a few days later they said they had received it over a week ago and it would be going out the next day. Then we didn't hear anything I called back yesterday and they said no, it wasn't sent out and they can't tell me when it will be sent out that it is undergoing additional processing and not to call back that I will get something from them in the mail:( UGHHH patience .... some days I think I don't have an ounce of patience left.... it's extra-frustrating because this step was supposed to go quick.
