I got my visa today, Wohooo.

You're in Bristol, aren't you? We got our visa today, the day after the interview?! Thought that was fast but since they brought yours, maybe they brought his....

Yeah I am in Bristol. I got the visa sent to my work address and was away from my office when they came, as I wasnt expecting it untill at least thurday, so it was a mad panick back to reception when I got the call.

Its all good now though.

I got my visa today, Wohooo. Leaving the UK on the 12th, got my flights booked and my POE is going to be Boston, has anyone flew into there as there POE, if so is it any good?

So stressed at the moment getting everything sorted, which is complicated by the fact that I have to go away with work till Sunday. I am working right up till the Wednesday before I leave so I can get as much cash together as possible.

I am sure that it will all get sorted in time, but I cant wait to sit on the plane and just relax.

Hi,

1) there is an expiration date on NOA2. What does it mean? Do we have to get an interview date before the expiration date? If it's expired, will the officier reject the visa?

2) DS-156K also requires
birth certificate, police certificate, evidence of engagement and evidence of financial support
so do we have to attach them to the package 3 and mail them back?
do we send copies or the originals?

thanks,

lele

1. yes I believe so

2. No do not send any of the supporting evidence with the DS-156k, you bring it all to interview.

Thanks for the advice on calling the DOS, unfortunately they have given me the same information as the UK helpline - although they are a lot nicer than the UK helpline.

I need to just sit and wait patiently.................

Congratulations to those who have received the interview dates!!!

Yeah the UK helpline is very unhelpful and uninterested, especially annoying as it is £1.20 a min

Well I still dont have an interview date. I phoned up the expensive phone number and they told me that the system still hadnt been updated with my checklist being received, but they had my 2301 part one on file, which was in the same envelope. So hopefully I will get a date next week sometime.

Found out today that my petition has been through NVC and is now on its way to london. As I am trying to get my interview before my sons birthday I was wondering if there is anything that I need to have ready so that I can send back packet 3 as soon as it arrives.

I have already filled for my police report and that should be here soon. Also has anyone managed to get there GP to give them any missing jabs.

thanks in advance

Just thought I would post in here. Got my NOA2 on Monday and now waiting for NVC and the embassy to do there bit.

I am stressing as I desperatly hoping to get to america for my sons first Birthday on the 29th of September, i thought I would have been here by now, but with IMBRA kicking of it is going to be cutting it close.

Looking at the dates it seems to take between 1.5 months to 2.5 months from packet3 to interview.

Anyway having just moved out of the K1 forums to here I would like to say hi and good luck to all those going through interviews.

The NHS isnt perfect, but at least I was ALWAYS seen by a GP on the day if I called before 10am.

Wow -- you mustn't have been living in North London then! I had to see my GP earlier this year about what turned out to be a torn ligament in my wrist. At first I had ignored the pain for a day, but it swelled up alarmingly and I called the surgery to seek help. I was told it would be one week until any doctor, not just my GP, could see me. I told them my wrist was popping all the time, I was in terrible pain unless I doped myself to high heaven with Solpadeine and my wrist was almost triple its normal size. No dice, but maybe I could go to casualty? (No way, Jose!) One week later, my wrist was in a splint and the doctor actually asked me why I had waited so long to seek help! I'm still having problems with the wrist, and I was told it could take up to a year to heal. I have no way of knowing whether the delay in getting treatment made the healing process slow down.

I have had awesome care on the NHS on occasion, adequate to good care most of the time, and on a few occasions truly terrible care that endangered my life. I have no idea what to expect in the US -- I'm hoping my interview tomorrow will result in an employment contract (as opposed to a consultancy agreement) that will allow me to take advantage of the great care available at the university's health clinic. Otherwise, I'm praying nothing goes wrong in the next few months!

Lived in Bristol.

USCIS Service CentersWhich Service Center?
When I file my I-129F and I receive my NOA1, which service center is my file then sent to? Is it random or does is based on where in the US you are located? I'm in Oklahoma. I know it is a basic question, but I can't seem to find the answer. Thank you for your help.

Well they just took out the $340 I had sent them so that must mean they've accepted my application.  I was more worried I sent it to the right place lol.  Now to wait for the NOA1.

How long does it take to receive an email/text? It was delivered on the 24th, but I was under the impression it happened fast. They haven't withdrawn the money yet either. I'm not impatient, i just like to know things are going smoothly. :-P

I'm confused.  Where did it go? This is the opening sentence to my email.

Your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS Texas Service Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Look everyone welcome to the USA Birzaro world of immigration. IN the magical land of Bizaro USA, those who play by the rules and file properly and obey the rules are penalized and mistreated. But if you break the law and do things illegally you are rewarded (refering to certain group of 11 million people who just protested for their "rights" and will be given citizenship because it is the "humane" thing to do)

Just remember we are americans ( and americans to be) and our governement will use and abuse us, because thats what americans let our government do. God bless america.

USCIS Service CentersCase approved 2NOA from CSC
Wow what do you know your case was processed within the timeframe that your were originally told. Do you think all the letters your wrote to your congressman help, or was it just a waste of time?

USCIS Service Centersinvestigate overdue case
All she has to do is wait, she didn't even get her noa1 until 7 weeks ago. this really just goes to prove the old saying " people are never grateful for what they have". Vermont is the fast service center and i am certain she will recieve her noa2 much faster than a person going through CSC. but of course since it is human nature to be self centered (not a reflection on irishgirl) thast is why we have multiple people writing their congressmen the week after they submit their application. Really the only thing she can do is wait, anyone who tells her she can do something at this point to speed up the process is just making up things.

sometimes i really cant believe the things i read on here. call your congressmen and write letters to your state representatives if you really are at the end of your rope, just don't expect anything to come of it.

just wait until 11 million illegals start to apply. hahaha a 3 month wait will be like a miracle compared to whats coming. i feel sorry for people who will just be entering the system. Too bad they can't be like hispanics and just puch their way to the front of the line.

USCIS Service CentersHow many supporters are here?

Yep, what Bayareaguy said.
The numbers don't add up.

But think of how many people, you know, or even strangers you could get involved in this? I might not know hundreds or thousands of people, but I'm willing to do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to be reconnected with my loved one, so why not at least try?

IMBRA Special TopicsQUESTION: For all those approved the past 7 days.....
I really feel for you, especially since we are using the same service center and embassy. Our petition showed no touches, unless you consider the RFE being sent and the reply as being touches. I just got emails letting me know the petition was finally approved.

I did not check anything on my RFE and got approved. I did however send my RFE back using certified mail. This way I knew they got it and who signed for it. I hope this helps you. Good luck!

IMBRA Special TopicsIMBRA Question
As far as I know, answering yes to question 1 does not affect your chances of approval. You just need to provide detail information on the agency. As far as questions 2 & 3 go, just leave them blank. With me, we met through an Internet dating site. I answered no to question 1 because I felt that the agency charged the same fees to both Americans and men from other countries. Also they had a couple of mens profiles on the site, so I assumed they charge American women the same fee.
We were approved post-IMBRA. The Moscow Embassy interview was easy for all of the women that my fiancee went into the interview with. They asked her how we met, and she told them that we initially met through the Internet. My fiancee gave no further details except when we actually met in person.

USCIS Service CentersTSC delivery attempt...
What most likely happened is that the TSC already picked up their mail earlier in the morning. Most businesses usually pick up around 9:00 am. The package will most likely be delivered on Monday. Please keep in mind that the TSC will most likely forward your K-1 packet to the California Service Center. It would have been better to just mail your packet to the CSC.

USCIS Service CentersFormal Congressional Inquiry Petition Link
I went ahead and signed your petition. It absolutely sucks that the California Service Center is taking so long. Not only that, but they are also being random in who they approve. I seen a few applications from May being approved where March and April petitions are still waiting. I would not mind the wait as long as they were treating people equally. The fact that Vermont approves most applications sooner than California is also another sore spot. If Vermont is so far ahead, why can't they transfer some California applications over there?
By the way David, I noticed that we had very similar timelines up until my NOA-2 on August 1. I pray that you are approved soon. I know that the holidays are right around the corner. When I first applied for the K-1, I was estimating her arrival to be in early September, not 2 months later. Best of luck with the petition and thank you for your effort.
